Okay folks I'm putting this to bed. After getting a little under 10 hours in, cyberpunk 2077 is NOT an immersive sim. It's a very nice open world RPG that occasionally let's you do things in different ways but it frequently just railroads you into doing things the way the game wants you to do them (almost always a shootout) and there's no real emergent gameplay; everything you can do was intended by the devs and it's very hard, if not impossible to make your own way in game without following a predetermined path.
I have to say, the first choice you make has already an impact on the missions you are getting, also most levels I played you could choose if you do stealth, hacking, hack or shoot, or a mix of all , and you often have different outcomes, you can safe a guy or don't, if you safe the guy, he will help you later, but it is never said that that guy is to safe...stuff like that, I would go so far, that after 10 ours of gameplay, you are still scratching the surface of that is possible, some augmentation for example change the gameplay drastically....
@@percher4824 eh stealth is difficult and finicky, but as far as i can tell most encounters allow you to disengage and approach it differently. of course, though, that does mean that the occasional quest does railroad you into a firefight at first.
or on xbox one where i am lucky enough for for it to only crash 2 times and come close to crashing about 20 or 10 times for me and i started playing 2 days ago

@@cocainer621 Yeah, the corona expansion kind of goes against that whole "outside" part of the game. To be fair, it's a few tens of thousands of years old, but you do begin to miss it after an entire year without. I like how you say Mitsoda being fired meant the story part of Vampire was complete, when the article gave the implication that he was NOT done writing at all, saying that saying he was shocked was underselling it. The thing that's suprised me the most is that it's only crashed once and I blame myself for spamming grenades. If you get it for a last gen console, do not fast travel! It's set on a space station being held hostage by pirates, with you hired to infiltrate the location and clear it out. It's got some Die Hard vibes in terms of stealth, with broken glass getting stuck in your bare feet as a gameplay mechanic. - Filcher, a game looking like a modern-day Thief. Unlike Thief Simulator, which came out a couple years ago and was more open world, this one is much more level-based like the original Looking Glass games. - Teardown, which just came out in EA earlier this year. It's all voxel-based with a focus on destruction, so like no NPC interactions currently, barely any stealth or combat. It's all about just pulling off robberies, heists, demolition jobs or what have you, whichever way you see fit, as long as that way involves blowing things up. - Consortium: The Tower. Three years in early access, zero slated 1.0 release date, basically a game about resolving a hostage situation on a sci-fi complex. Strong focus on interactions with other characters. - Pathologic 2. Don't forget that game still has two more character campaigns in development.
My understanding of the Mick Gordon - Bethesda split is that Mick missed several deadlines so they had to mix the OST without him, then planned to use his mix when he finished it, but he never did. He took issue with how they mixed it and said he probably won't work with them again. If that's true, as much as I like his work, it sounds like Mick is being a drama queen.
Bethesda refused to provide the resourses he needed to complete mixing in time. He asked them to hire several people or a studio, I don't remember corrrectly, but they fucked him over. Overall, Bethesda is to blame, because they announced that Doom Eternal's OST will be included in Collector's Edition in the release date. The official soundtrack of Doom 2016 came out several months later after the release of the game, because nobody at Bethesda bothered Mick with impossible deadlines.

@@newironside yeah it's like vampires are a metaphor for sexual predators defacto
@@newironside also what's your people? People who like good writing and think touch stones is limited compared to paths.
starbound is a pretty good rpg if you install the frackin universe mod
Core decay looks very immersive sim-y
You have a very nice beard, Charlatan!
OMFGoodness, that beard is great!
What was the jazz song used in the intro?
Ouch the pain
I know you covered it but is golden light immersive sim ish?
Wait, why did Simulation Games not take off in 2020?
Whabout STALKER 2?
You missed notbloodborne.com That game looks pretty dope.
What was the game in the bottom right of the thumbnail? I can place all the others like the Deathloop guy and the Gloomwood dude.
Your cat looks cute.
Will the Painness card be an envelope with an ink bomb in it?
was just about to get high and I needed a quality video to vibe/pass out to, and then I saw this. good lookin' out, Charlatan (Mr. Wonder, if you prefer). this will do just fine.
Why you passing out at 10am homie?
@@kebr4723 i have chronic pain and its finals time for me. stayed up for much of last night writing essays and doing an online final. not enough dope left to justify doing enough to pass out once the work was done, considering i have 2 essays and another exam to do before the weekend ends. side note: didnt actually even really pass out and now im out of time so its back to working on essays for me.
fucking kill me. jk but i need money or i will be feelin that type of way in a day or two
@@ByzantineDarkwraith Ah, I feel you bruv. I hope things work out. I know that's about as useful as sending "thoughts and prayers", but I have my fingers crossed that you'll find an unmarked envelope with $1000 in it today. Good luck with your essay.
At 5:21 you say he left the production... but then show an article saying he was suddenly terminated
and he also says it came as a shock to him... that cannot possibly be good
When it comes to indie spookies, have you thought about doing Doom mods? There’s a surprising amount of horror Doom mods (Total Chaos, Soundless Mound, Aliens Eradication, ect), and a video on Doom mods would be interesting in general.
I love Joseph Seed in my videos.
I heard Cyberpunk is a good sim 🤣
guys what's the game during the anti sponsor section ? thanks !
Pretty sure its deadly premonition
Wait what is the Parkside project?
Hey charlatan, what are the criteria for channel membership? Do you have to enable it yourself or RUclips does?
You enable it manually, which I don't because I have Patreon and I feel like both membership and Patreon would be double dipping.
@@CharlatanWonder I'm asking because it would be more easy to support you since I live in a third world country and youtube premium let me have a channel to be a member and support.
Ah, I see. I might consider it for folks like you that really wanna help out but Patreon poses a problem to them. Thanks for bringing this to my attention!
Elite Dangerous Odyssey might count too
cyberpunk 2077 feels like an immersive sim
Its Santa charl 🌲🎅❤🎁😼
the cat is cute
System Reshock keeps changing engines. That’s a terrible sign.
Tencent, yay, give them even more 😅
Slight nitpick, Deus Ex go came out a few days before Mankind Divided
Wait there's a deus ex mobile game?
Yeah, there's actually two. Deus ex go is interesting but apparently not as mechanically unique as the Go game that came afterwards (tomb raider go iirc?) and it doesn't have cloud saves meaning I get to restart whenever I download it again. Deus ex the fall is a sequel to a side novel, it's basically a less-deep Human Revolution.
