Yeah. This is what I call horror because it happens a lot in real life too. I can't imagine the situation about this 14 yr old kid in the game had to go through.
@@Darkstormsun9865 Welcome to horror games! The games that warn you with the descriptions and even genre of the game. You know its horror already so why be scared????? Yeah no, that's not how our brains work lol.
@ChitsyFreemo not exactly. Playing the same horror game you already played isn't as scary as the first time. Because you already know what's coming its the same concept here.
indie, i am not speaking of expirience BUT when some one tries to get inside your home while youre alone at the age of 14 dont go searching for him outside every 2 minutes
The terrifying part is that this is something that could ACTUALLY happen. Most horror games I can just go "Wouldn't happen in real life." and ignore everything scary. But this just leaves you with that feeling of dread that only a game like this could.
I've watched 3 people play this, and it's the first time I've seen the back door open and that someone had gone through the desk upstairs. Nor have I seen that ending. Jesus, that scared me. I thought this game was cool before. Now I think it's friggin' amazing!
_"HOW DOES HE NOT NOTICE THIS!?"_ Bro, what average 14 year old would honestly even go to that conclusion? Back door? Didn't close it all the way/Wind opened it. Inside doors opened? Forgot to close them. Papers strewn about on your desk? Wind or I'm just messy. Guy eats the whole lasagna out of the tin, you really expect him to pay attention to minute details?
I don't think the papers were even supposed to have anything to do with that, the Chem referred to was probably some Chemistry homework, so, the thing actually happening there was just the character doing their homework before going to bed and IGP was just being paranoid. After all, at some point _after_ that happens we hear glass shattering, that is the point where the intruder actually got in.

For one of these things? Sure. All of them? Nah. If my back door is open i'll be on high alert and pay attention a lot more than usual. If i then also find doors suddenly open then all alarms will go off.
What an insane concept for a game. I've never seen a game done like this where the story plays out just like someone retelling a story, with subtitles written in the past tense.
Another idea I think might happen if your car gets stranded and need gass and have to sit in, knowing someone is watching you while you have to fill up your car or fix it.
That's actually a little scarier. Though, if it's at night I'd probably sit in my truck which has 5% tint with my rifle easily accessible until a friend or mechanic arrives. That way I have a great advantage; they can't see me but I can see them.
Yeah not necessarily as suspenseful in my area at least because I always keep firearms and blinders in my vehicle just in case...(concealed carry permit holder and personal friends with some federal law enforcement)
This actually gave me chills, I usually don't feel that uneasy but it's just too realistic, it's horribly unsettling. Thank you for going through it for us :D
I find it interesting that folks playing this game always seem to want to try to lock the doors _after_ someone’s been shown to be in the house. Like, they’re already inside, you’d be locking yourself in there with them 😅
Please also do the other episodes when they come out🙏 Cause this tension, this whole build-up, it's honestly been a long time that a horror game captured me that much! Really awesome game!😉🔥
Most of the time my nightmares have features a lot like this game… doors won’t stay closed, light switches don’t work, it’s dark and something is hunting me, and outside is the only safety. This is the closest I’ve come to re-immersing myself in my nightmares in waking consciousness.
When they grabbed Indie at the door I literally tensed every muscle in my body and blacked out for a second Edit: the blue screen on the TV I think means that they cut the cable and any associated (such as security and landlines)
With experience with property invasion (near our barn at night, in the carport next to the door of the house, edge of my backyard), personally its like an enraged rush of adrenaline to drive them away from my family and pets. The fear comes after when you go back inside to settle down and check your locks once more.
IGP: *Outside is safe, outside I can run* Also IGP: *Walks into invisible wall* How are you able to play a horror game like this!?! What kind of balls do you need?
Honestly something like this is wayyy more terrifying than games like Mortuary’s Assitant or other games like that, because this is something you feel could happen to you anyday and it makes you scared that it will. Beautiful game design
I used to love getting left home alone as a kid, I would channel my child-ninja skills and lock everything up like a fortress so I could watch TV in the dark with something heavy in my hands. Anyone entering this castle with a smell my dog doesn't recognise is going to be collected by the cops with a golf trophy or a frozen grapefruit sticking out of their head and hundreds of tiny bitemarks from a Pomeranian.
Just came back to watch this after seeing the main channel vid. So glad I did. Holy crap this was amazing! Some might not like it, but the fact that the first real big scare didn't come until around 17ish minutes into the game is so refreshing. This game actually got me to jump and that really doesn't happen often with most horror games for me at least.
After watching Icy's version of the new Phasmophobia update I'm legit thinking Indie is trying to go legend by dying of a stroke playing horror games, what a chad.
It's nice having content from IGP that has an outro, I miss the blue outro he had before it got changed to just be in-game sounds and a black screen. Rest well in the aether old outro...
Get a dog or two. I've only heard them have a serious growl twice, and one time was in the middle of the night. If you've never heard a dog's serious growl, it's very distinct and bone-chilling. It's deeper, raspier, and has more snarl. It works great to let me know whether I can dismiss the barking and growling as someone just walking down the road, or if it's serious. I'd recommend investing in a pump-action shotgun as well. Even if you keep it unloaded, it has a very intimidating and recognizable sound when pumped. Remember, most people aren't looking for a fight, just some easy cash.
Dude dogs go ballistic in the south. Deer, squirrels, possums, wind, they will go fucking nuts. Every dog I've had goes crazy living out in the middle of nowhere
I started watching this during daytime, when I was alone at home, planned to have a nap after it. Approximately 5 minutes later, I said NOPE and changed the order... good choice! :D
When I was a kid my dad saw something off when we came home at a house in Vegas it was haunted but that is another story. Anyhow he started checking the house and found a bum who attacked was hiding behind a shower curtain in a bathroom. My dad subdued him with kind and gentle punches to various places and then tied him up till the police come. Now to this very day I check behind every shower curtain no matter where I go, I never close them either. Just sayin. Junk was scary. He was a drug addict who broke into other houses too.
Now that's a man. I just picture a druggie with nothing but adult diapers on, hogtied in a tub with a three-toothed grin and a middle-aged man's foot on his chest

I watched a playthrough from Daz Games and he saw it too. It was on camera. You probably just didnt see it because you were trying to figure out how to eat the lasagna lol.
aww you missed seeing his legs walk up the stairs when you started watching TV and eating. you would NOT have been going into your parents' dark room otherwise. you also missed seeing in front of your door when your mom sent you the picture. Banditplays got both of those encounters if you wanna check it out.
After watching this video, I think I'll stay in my block of flats, here I feel more safer than I would in a family house. Hereby I want to thank you IGP, you've hypothetically saved my life lol.
I'm glad I'm a good climber, because I'd scale my apartment before I go through whoever's in my home. I'd probably feel safer up higher than on the ground tbh.
I really like the soundtrack for this, very unsettling and dreadful and it's awesome. Ive always had a deep appreciation for amazing video game soundtracks. It's certainly come along way, growing up as a gamer, Mega Man 2 and Castlevania were amazing. Later on as the gameplay and Graphics progressed forward, so did the music. Actraiser, Super Castlevana , Starfox and Contra 3 for the SNES. Things got even better when the original Playstation, FF7, Summoner, Doom "custom Playstation edition" by Aubrey Hodges, which in my opinion is the greatest Doom soundtrack ever, and quite possibly one of the greatest soundtracks ever, "Castlevania Symphony of the Night" another one that is amazing if anyone remembers the game"Myst" which is considered an iconic soundtrack to one of the greatest PC games ever. Also "Load" for the PS that top down shoot 'em up that was released in 1995. This is when my preference changed to more of ambient/dark soundtracks you find in Horror games. "Passing Pineview Forest" a game that relied on its audio soundtrack to enhance the atmosphere. "Amnesia the Dark Decent" Silent Hill (obviously) the "Dead Space" series, I could go on, but you get the idea, I even thought FNAF had some really cool music also. A soundtrack can make or break a game, in so many ways, 2 other honorable mentions are "Journey" back in 2014 which is one of the greatest PS3 exclusive titles ever which had an incredible soundtrack, and Dear Esther (2008) that is probably is the best "walking simulator" type game I've ever played, in my opinion, because the soundtrack i found to be incredibly "moving".
Straight flashbacks to when I was in like 7th grade home alone late at night while my parents were out and I heard a noise over my headset and after skeptically creeping downstairs I find the side door wide open. I sprinted to the neighbors and we still don’t know how the locked door ended up wide open.
This idea is from another comment but. It would be cool to have a multiplayer home invasion game where one person is the home owner, and the other is the home INVADER. And the invader has randomly generated objectives from simply stealing some valuables, to kidnapping the home owner, or even killing them
As someone who was left alone in the ghetto in Vegas a lot as a kid, this game hits me right in the fears dude. This used to terrify me and I would compulsively check the doors, and we did have someone break in while we were sleeping but all they did was take a glass and leave it outside our back door and they hopped the fence. That one messed with my sleep for a while. Oh my god right as that jump scare happened the shared wall between my brothers room and mine was like slammed into by something idk what they doin over there but that hurt my heart😭
He was on to something when he said it might be playing into his paranoia because that is a genius idea for a horror game. Just imagine a horror game where the only horror is paranoia
I'm irrationally scared of a llot of things and it's amazing how many of those fears evaporated after i bought my first gun. Home invasion was one of the big ones and now it's like... "Good luck, buddy." still scared of beiing alone outside at night though, since i can't always have a weapon at hand like i do when i'm in my house.
But what about when you're sleeping? You should have an intruder alarm too. Having someone sneak in my home while I'm asleep is scarier to me because you can't do anything if you're already out like a light. Hearing so many horror stories about women getting attacked in their sleep gave me frequent nightmares growing up.
@@v.5960 just invest in a lock with an alarm, every time the door opens it makes a 3 second alarm, it’s annoying at first but you get used to it, plus pressure sensors in the floor are super easy to install

HOLY CRAP! I really screwed up watching this at night, in bed, in the dark with earbuds. When that guy came around the door and grabbed you I jumped up so fast and yelled I scared my husband out of a dead sleep; HE thought someone was breaking in. I hardly ever get scared watching you play but the build up and YOUR fear screwed me up big time. The makers did a good job building up the tension and punishing you for opening the front door too soon. I'm kinda scared to watch the rest of this until its daylight. I have to know what happens though. DAMN IT!
Hell no. This gave me the creeps. He is most definitely a teenage boy. If it had been me, I would’ve locked all of the doors- plus we would’ve had a dog- turned off all the lights, turned on the TVs at loud volumes, grabbed a glass of water (not a bottle, it makes noise), and hidden in whichever bedroom had two locks- usually the master. I’d have locked the bedroom door, and hidden in the bathroom (locked, of course.) I would text everyone I knew and FaceTime someone that lived closest to me to come get me. They’d be on mute but they would be able to hear me. And I would’ve had a knife or a bat. Personally, a baseball bat will give you more range but is less threatening and you’d need to hit somewhere sensitive first- and hard. A large cutting knife or butcher knife is good if you strike first, but could get stolen pretty easy. I think I’m starting to realize why no one has broken into our house before..
No game had scared me more than fears to fathom. The suspense killed me the entire play thru, games that have jump scares or ghost or things like that don’t typically scare me, but this game couldn’t have scared me more. Very impressive.
I'm so incredibly frightened of home invasions because when i was a kid i was on my laptop just playing games. I get this weird feeling of "I should get to bed now" sorta things. The ambiance is too intense lol. Like you already know hes coming so it's not as scary.
Yeah. This is what I call horror because it happens a lot in real life too. I can't imagine the situation about this 14 yr old kid in the game had to go through.

I was so into this game. When you opened that door and that dude popped out scared me so bad I literally fell off my bed.
What scared me most was the door moment.

No my friend, you were PUSHED off your bed👀
The terrifying part is that this is something that could ACTUALLY happen. Most horror games I can just go "Wouldn't happen in real life." and ignore everything scary. But this just leaves you with that feeling of dread that only a game like this could.
This feels like it could happen because it *did* happen. That's why there's an Email at the Main Menu
You’re a braver man than most, IGP.

I've watched 3 people play this, and it's the first time I've seen the back door open and that someone had gone through the desk upstairs. Nor have I seen that ending. Jesus, that scared me. I thought this game was cool before. Now I think it's friggin' amazing!
_"HOW DOES HE NOT NOTICE THIS!?"_
Bro, what average 14 year old would honestly even go to that conclusion?
@@sergeysmirnov1062 late to the party but, I looked back to be sure and the drawers were closed before and when he came back they were opened, I think it was to that that he reacted. You have a point with the window breaking though.
I'm a *messy* person (and a teen). Seeing someone outside pacing the house, I'd be nervous but would write it off. Seemg the door FULLY open. Nah. I'm leaving
I definitely would.
For one of these things? Sure. All of them? Nah. If my back door is open i'll be on high alert and pay attention a lot more than usual. If i then also find doors suddenly open then all alarms will go off.
Home invasion games become less like horror and more like Doom if you live in the south.
Target practise and dogs' treats if you visit my house.
Doom except you’re going against another slayer.
So anyway I started blasting
Yeah because no one with a gun has ever been killed in their own home lol! There has never been any home invasions in the South.
thats why I have a sword (even though I'm up north)
The atmosphere of that game is so intense! I was on edge for the whole video, and have developed a new fear of home invasion. I now regret everything.
I love the idea because this is totally the type of stuff I would randomly think about, excited for more by fears to fathom, and as always love the vids

Scrutinized is one of the first games I ever watched you play, what a throwback this'll be lol
Most of the time my nightmares have features a lot like this game… doors won’t stay closed, light switches don’t work, it’s dark and something is hunting me, and outside is the only safety.
This is the closest I’ve come to re-immersing myself in my nightmares in waking consciousness.
When they grabbed Indie at the door I literally tensed every muscle in my body and blacked out for a second
Edit: the blue screen on the TV I think means that they cut the cable and any associated (such as security and landlines)
It's got a Welcome To The Game feel to it, and it's honestly a terrifying game. Nice find!
I honestly thought this was a new installment when I saw the thumbnail
With experience with property invasion (near our barn at night, in the carport next to the door of the house, edge of my backyard), personally its like an enraged rush of adrenaline to drive them away from my family and pets. The fear comes after when you go back inside to settle down and check your locks once more.
I don't care if I'm a 6'3" grown man.
Thinking someone has broken into your home is the most terrifying thing ever.

The True horror in this game is that the house doesn't have a bathroom. WHERE DO THEY POOP!?!?
Yeah I noticed that ugh this game is literally unplayable.. (just kidding but still weird detail to keep out?)

I've experienced like... 7 home invasions while at home... thank god my entire family is armed and aren't afraid to shoot. Saved our lives.
Love it....I live in the country, and I'm always armed, but I still have this fear....my heart got to thumping so hard!!!!
I have a shotgun too. I love it the best. I do have 2 dogs, they are the sweetest, but if push comes to shove they will protect without a doubt!
Dude my fucking heart hurts. Please do more of this. I was crushed when you didn't continue Scrutinized, but this has the same energy.
I’ll tell you what, that jumpscare got me good. I haven’t spooked like that for a video in a very long time. Great build up. 10/10 would jump again.

Love the optimism "all in his head"
I had to come back to this video, the house in this looks eerily similar to the first one in your Ghost Exile video. The whole time watching it gave me an added layer of chills
The idea of this game is genuinely terrifying! Thanks for going through the metal torture to show us this game dude!

Are you gonna play the other episodes when they come out? By the way love your content!
I really appreciate IGP's effort to view and respond to the comments. Great game btw!
IGP's screams have got to be the most hilarious scream I have ever heard
This idea is from another comment but. It would be cool to have a multiplayer home invasion game where one person is the home owner, and the other is the home INVADER.
And the invader has randomly generated objectives from simply stealing some valuables, to kidnapping the home owner, or even killing them

As someone who was left alone in the ghetto in Vegas a lot as a kid, this game hits me right in the fears dude. This used to terrify me and I would compulsively check the doors, and we did have someone break in while we were sleeping but all they did was take a glass and leave it outside our back door and they hopped the fence. That one messed with my sleep for a while.

yesss omg that’s such a good game!
"Good luck, buddy."
still scared of beiing alone outside at night though, since i can't always have a weapon at hand like i do when i'm in my house.
But what about when you're sleeping? You should have an intruder alarm too. Having someone sneak in my home while I'm asleep is scarier to me because you can't do anything if you're already out like a light.
I love how somebody has broken into the house, he's already been caught and he's trying to investigate exactly where the guy is, LOL
