COLLAB WITH @ragey_7 WOOOOO!!!!!!! 💃💃💃
it's such an honor to collab with ragey once again bcz honestly shes one of the early UTAU users that i really look up to the most... and with our busy schedule, somehow we made this collab work T__T we worked super hard on this and started it at like..... 2020..... LMAO,, but id say it's definitely worth taking the time and i'm super happy with the final result, and i hope everyone else is too!!! ngl i've been RLLY excited to finish this collab but uni nerfed me so i couldnt continue it for a long time orz. BUT here we are!!! i recently graduated and got more time to continue personal projects, including this one 😎👍 (there's still more but i'm gonna take it slow since im trying to avoid burnout + probably need a longer break after the extremely draining thesis era lmao)
also i tried to animate the characters + do the MV again this time, and wanted to see how much have my motion graphics improved since suzusora world's end dancehall cover.. and i think i improved quite lots 😳 hope yall enjoy it as much as i do!!
and i would like to express my gratitude to wowaka for this timeless legendary banger (and many more), nmasao1 for the UST (also legendary), Naki for the amazing mixing as always, and Ragey for the beautiful illustration and tuning Suzu T__T we agreed to tune each other's UTAUs and i'm really shook by how she tuned + drew my daughter skdfksgf/// i also had a lot of fun tuning Sora, she's such a queen i love her sm. pls do check out Ragey's works if yall havent!!! also we were inspired by Will Stetson's cover for the adlibs in some parts, so do check out their cover of this song as well!!
lastly, i just wanna say thank u guys so much for still sticking around!! i might cook more stuff in the future, but it might be a little different from my usual stuff.. at least that's the plan for now 👀 so i hope yall look forward to it!!

I have to be honest, Unhappy Refrain is the only (super famous) wowaka song that I haven’t listened to because it’s the last time I will ever be able to experience a wowaka song for the first time. Yet, I have loved your other wowaka UTAU collabs to death. Like they’re the best tuning I’ve ever heard of an UTAU and they’re are such a powerful take on wowaka’s songs that differ from the original vision of his songs. So I’ve been holding off on listening to this cover, but I couldn’t help it and listened to it. Thank you for this cover, and being responsible for making me listen to my final wowaka song (all in good fun, haha!)

i think this is one of the highest production values i've seen for a work using utau. i find it very pretty how much their emotions gave extra meaning to the song, and it's crazy to think back then utau was looked down upon and vocal synths have gone so far
aside from the stunning tuning and voicebanks, the animation and motion graphics really give emotional value to this
