  • Flying into Mabuiag in far north Queensland to land on the Australia's shortest runway, crocodiles on either side if you don't make it. Shot by Damian Barbeler.

    Yep, know of one pilot several years ago who ended up in the dam on the left of the runway, due to a nasty crosswind and aquaplaning. The resident croc was initially quite upset, but subsequently used the planes' wing to sunbake on for a few days before it was retrieved on a barge and sent back to Horn Island...the plane that is...not the croc!!!!!!!!!
