    Good luck on Eroica´s challenge!
I will join this year in June the Spanish version in La Rioja with my 1978 zeus bicycle.
    :-)
Hope also you enjoy my lovely hometown Madrid.
    Best from Spain.

Thank you Adolfo and enjoy your 1978 Zeus. It’s a cool bike. I love Madrid. Any recommendation for a nice Diner?

Well packed. The bike bag looks solid. Looks a very useful investment. So with no bike in the next episode - - Perhaps an feature on the Eroica paperwork needed to go on the adventure etc.

Hello Alan. I am quite anxious about this trip as I have heard so many horror stories about people flying with their bikes. Oh well I am not going to worry about what I can’t control. We shall see!

I have a Ritchey carbon Breakaway and enjoyed traveling throughout Europe with it as a checked bag and not considered as oversized. I live in Bahrain currently and brought one of my frames back with me recently, a 1990 Tesch S-22. The frame box that I packed it in was considered oversized and the airline were about to charge me for it but gave me a break and let it go for free. Once I build it up and want to get it home in a bike case like yours, what can I expect to pay the airline? I plan on working here another 3-4 years but am curious.

Hello James. This is going to be my first time traveling on a plane with a bicycle so I am a bit anxious about it. From the research I have done, my bike case qualifies as a regular checked in luggage so I shouldn’t have any extra fee to pay (hopefully). It seems however that every airline has slightly different rules when it comes to bike cases so you really need to be careful who you fly with. That is why, for instance, I decided to go with Delta and not Air France for this trip (I am flying into France first) as AF as much more restrictive regulations than delta. Hope that helps.

Hello Trekmadone. I learned that from CicliCorsa Classico. The way they had packed my Colnago Arabesque was just a work of art!
