I remember Nyphron states he has known Sebek for "a thousand years." I always took that as him rounding/exaggerating. I think the 876 came from Farilane. We did have a direct reference from Sullivan when he was talking about the galantians where he said they "were formed by Nyphron in the year 500 BI when he was 376 years old." So I think the 876 is probably pretty accurate.
That is a date Sullivan came out and said was incorect, and that Royce was born in 2952. I don't know if we know whether it was a typo in the book, or was a date Sullivan had to change in order to make things fit later on.

Pretty sure Nyphron was about 1100-1500 in the Age of Empire series. I can't remember the exact age. But he does say it to Persephone
