How about an interesting video on the Alpha red giant star in the northern constellation Serpens the Snake called Unukalhai or Unuk, also known as Cor Serpentis? 🐍
isn't it also the eye of the eagle because of it's location in the constellation ? . . and altho the 2 companion stars are cool and stand out on that part of the sky, sadly there's not realy that much more to it . . all the exciting stuff is in the tail of the bird or further across the horizont
ah, interesting, I'll have to take a look at the tail, if I recall correctly, I think the 'shaft of aquila' is the neck of the bird, so Altair is more like the throat, although I guess depends on how accurate we're calling it 😁😁😁😁
For me a well known star but you always add something to the little knowledge I have, didn't know it was spinning this fast and always amazed by the amount of names that come from Arabic!! As for your pronunciation, let's wait for what @mohamine771 has to say!!🤔
I don't believe that I received a mention from someone in here this means a lot to me, especially in this hard time ,if you heard about the tragic news 2 days away when Alyn Wallace left us, I still don't believe it and I'm traumatised. This shows that even a complete stranger to you can mean a lot if you share the same interests and love for such an amazing field like astronomy and stargazing. so I want to say that you made my day and I m very thankful, I will try to write some words about Altair later ^_^
@@Chatsworth1979 ah that's what I thought, I guess Antares is so far away compared to stars like Altair that even given it's size it still struggles to be brighter 😃
Even for me a native arabic speaker, the first thing comes to mind when I come across the amazing stars of Vega and Altair the Chinese/Japanese love story of Orihime (Vega) and hikoboshi (Altair) and how the Milky Way band in the sky separates them Only being able to meet once a year… As for the pronunciation, the word Altair is an adjective, the full name in arabic would be "Al Nasr Al Tair" ✴Nasr = Eagles 🦅 and it looks like the name of the football club that Cristiano Ronaldo is playing for last couple of years ( Al Nassr FC ) but it's not the same word actually, the football club name means Victory. Eagle = نسر / Victory = نصر the difference between س and ص is the intensity of the sound (S0) so the س in Nars the eagle sounds like the s in (silhouette) where the ص in Nasr the victory sounds like the s in (Summer) ✴Tair = flying and this is a hard one cuz the T is not a T here it's a ط ( I don't know how to explain this sound so you should look it up in something like google translator ) + you have to say it like (ta/ir) the (ai) is not one sound, (ta) by itself, then the (ir) which sound exactly like the beginning of the word "Eric" ✴Another note: in both words because they Start with T and N, when you add AL to them ( which is the equivalent of THE ) the L is silent, ANNASR ATTA-IR ✴You can copy this ( النسرـْ الطائرـْ ) to google translator and you would get pretty much the correct pronunciation 😀
Can i ask, can there be 2 or even 3 altair stars because i read that stars are usually formed in groups meaning that there is a possibility of being multiple altair or even vega stars that can exist
in the sense are there other A-type main sequence stars like Altair or Vega? yes, 100's of millions just within our own galaxy. Does Altair have a twin? possibly there may be others that formed with the star

thanks Henk, always good to know the video was worth watching, just about to check what Mo has replied below heheh
@@mohamine771 sad news buddy about Alyn Wallace, such a talented individual :( will await your verdict on my Altair pronunciation 😃
Wow in my mind if I'd had to guess I'd have said Antares would appear to be much brighter. Nice vid.
thanks buddy, do you mean Antares in terms of where it ranks on the brightest list? can't quite work out what you mean on this one 😃
@@VegaAstroVideosTable shown in the first 15 seconds of the video. Maybe I misinterpreted

aha very interesting thank you my friend, I had no idea the football club CR plays for was called that. Excellent stuff!
@@VegaAstroVideos I can add that the airplane in arabic is ALTAIRA ( pronounced ATTA-IRA, exactly the same as the star + the sound A at the end )
@@mohamine771 ah interesting again, so Altair could easily also be the 'Airplane' star lol ✈🛩🛫
Good
I've enjoyed looking at it in the night sky, the last few weeks. It's been very bright and visible here on the West Coast USA.
ah great to hear ⭐

@@VegaAstroVideos so you're saying that there could be multiple altairs that were formed with the altair we know right?
