Guys I'm thinking about doing a vid(s) about famous songs played by a specific synths. A little help with Oberheim? And on other videos (synths) as well.
Don't forget about the official Oberheim VST virtual synths produced by Gmedia in collaboration with Tom Oberheim & Marcus who worked at Oberheim. They model the OB-X, Oberheim Eight Voice & SEM module. The Oberheim name no longer means only hardware synths.
Very well researched & nice opening! The only missing thing is the arpeggiator "Cyclone", that looks similar to the strummer but of course works totally different.
Some parts of the history are far more glamourous than others. Over all, a solid performance from a great man. Well done Tom. You have changed the world.
The OB12 wasn't strictly an Oberheim .. it carried the Oberheim name but had nothing to do with Tom Oberheim as he had lost the right to use his own name... still, it was released as an Oberheim and is part of the Oberheim legacy so it must be included. Great video!
Yes it was owned by a Italian organ comany at that time but stll it carried the name. Many say it sounded great, and was packed.. but it wasn't classic Oberheim sound.
