You want to know what’s kinda crazy, I’ve beaten the story and found maybe 115 shrines yet I haven’t found a single Lynel out in the wild. Not counting the one you come across in the final “dungeon”
Lynels are much more rare and out of the way. Gleeoks are more common but because there are 3 versions of them (Excluding King Gleeoks because They have set locations which are easy to find when 100%)
I found two without guides or tips Spoiler In the area between lanayru mountain and Zora's domain = blue lynel And another one also between Zora's domain and akkala = white lynel
I love it how after hundreds of hours it took me to realize that I can block and parry with just my sword if I fuse a shield to it, and it works with 2 handed weapons 2 making it possible to parry with bludgeons and claymores and spears now
Or just fuse a wing to your shield. Do a shield jump to shield surf, grab your bow before you land to go into bullet time, shoot the lynel in the face and mount. Hit him a couple of times, jump off before he throws you off, grab your bow, shoot him in the back of the head, mount and repeat until dead. The only thing it'll cost you is bow durability.
There is a short quest, easy to miss, in Kakariko village where you help two men bickering over whether defense or offense is better. After Watching you fight a band of monsters, they make peace and realize both are important. Later, if you find them tending to their crops they will tell you how they worked together to develop new techniques. One tells you you can turn defense into offense by attaching a weapon to a shield. The other tells you you can do the opposite by attaching a shield to a sword. That is how I learned you can parry with two handed weapons by attaching a shield (and attack if you parry using a shield with a weapon attached). I think Nintendo intended for you to find out this way, if you didn't find out just from experimenting for yourself. Actually a lot of the secrets and mechanics like this can be learned by talking to NPCs in the world.

My first lynel kill in TOTK was almost immediately after I finished GSI, I had ran out of weapons and, thinking quickly, fused a bokoblin horn to my shield and parried it to death, and the last parry I did was the one that broke the shield. I still have the clip of it lmao, genuinely LOVE this game!
The fact you can kill silver lynels with 4 fury rushes with one weapon in this game as opposed to like 5 weapons breaking in BOTW shows how much of an improvement the combat received.
You've probably found this out already since your comment is 3 weeks old, but you can kill silver lynels in like 6 hits with the right gear. Pristine royal guard claymore, with +10 damage from octorok, fused with molduga jaw, damage it down to the last hit. Get bone proficiency from armour, eat a mighty meal for damage up. As long as you only damage the lynels while on their back, your weapon will never break, but it will still get the last-hit damage bonus.
@zakstorm9191 if youre still looking you need the yiga clan armor set and then you need to go to the yiga clan base. You'll then have to do some training with them and when you beat 6 in a minute you'll get the scroll to do the earthwake.
If only there was a shield that was as tiny as his arm (armguard as unarmed) and a one handed weapon as a knuckle fist or something minimal...that would be perfect...

I had to share this because I found out about it today. All of the light roots are directly connected to the shrines on the surface Also, the names of all of them are just spelled backwards from each other. So, if you find a light root, you found a shrine upstairs
The whole height map and tree layout is mirrored from the surface, so if there's a mountain on the surface, there's a valley in the underground. Brethren are found where big goddess statues are located and big mines are under settlements
Forgot to mention the most important part. Every water body on the surface, rivers, lakes, is a walk up to the ceiling in the underground that you can't cross

This is the 1st time ever Link fights empty handed. No longer will he reach for his back to find nothing when no weapon is equipped. It's totally worth it to do the Yiga training minigame. It doesn't do a lot of damage but it's great for beating weak enemies (like a chu chu) without using weapon durability. Hunting too. It somewhat tracks the enemies. It can still launch something like a boko up then repeat to keep juggling them.
its the Mystic head piece dyed yellow and I think the top is climbing gear dyed orange and pants are the Ember Trousers dyed orange. you get the Mystic armor set from Kilton's brother (I forget his name) who wants you to collect those Bubbulfrog gems. he gives it to you after like 50 of them? it's less than that but I forget the exact amount. from a gameplay perspective the Mystic gear works like the Magic Armor from Twilight Princess. you get hit you lose money instead of hearts and the yiga thing is one of the rewards for doing a Yiga related sidequest inside their HQ. requires you to get their gear first so you can infiltrate and act like one of them

The longer you hold the earthwake the more damage it does, but not much more.

@@trapwz thanks for the answer but at the same time if your gonna put something like this up anticipate people will want to replicate and just give a simple description or pin a coment telling the items so we can at least look them up to find them nothings more annoying then having to guess what items a person used to do something cool like this
