@Steve A I agree.
Cruise is not someone I would consider an alpha, by any stretch of the imagination. He's a very insecure man and does everything he can to hide those insecurities but if you're watching closely, he doesn't do that good of a job. He's made of a career of pretending to be a macho, unstoppable hero. None of which, he is. (Macho, maybe but that is a sign of insecurity). A shining example, his finding "meaning" in the "church" of Scientology.
One on beta males
1. congruent nodding
2. reassuring touch
3. claim space
4. body openness
5. invites others to participate
6. use a variable tone of voice
7. gaze more especially at the end of a statement
8. more hand gestures
Or just do it all simultaneously
That's not alpha That's what you think an alpha looks like
@@givdb5513 ??? Im summarizing the video bro

Really loved the video! I did not know that I did that more than once, and thank God I am not overthinking it lol. Question to you, Vanessa, besides getting better at interpreting cues and communicating effectively, is there any other to learn more about cues?
Maybe one day, I'll take your course, and I will add fuel to my overthink fire, lol.

Nice video Vanessa. Would you be able to do a video comparing Beta to Alpha? I’d also love to see body language from other animal species as well.
I think extrovert vs introvert alpha is be more interesting which Vanessa already tackled.
absolutely brilliant video I learnt so much
We're so glad to hear! Thank you for this feedback. :)
Love this video! And also love that fact that I recently discovered this channel. I've been binging these videos and I'm really excited to put some of this stuff to practice.
One question for you re Alpha Males: do you think being an Alpha is something that only comes natural or can it developed. I definitely know that I do some of these things when I'm in a great mood and feeling comfortable but I definitely do the opposite of some of these when I'm not in a good mood or when I'm timid and uncomfortable.
Anything artificial is not real and long lasting, natural things are always the best
I do the same. I think it has to do with how you relate to yourself, that transpires on your interactions with others
Incredible video #Vanessa ! I want you and your team to make more videos on the theme of #Alpha Male😉
Interesting very good research as well.
It's actually pretty terrible research because the theory of alpha male was disproved by the guy who came up with it.
I love you Vanessa, you are sending a beautiful positive Cues in every single video, hope to see you in person here in UAE soon. Keep up the good work

I *loved* this video! Seeing the examples of exactly what you’re talking about is so helpful- thank you! Question: would the same cues apply to women? If women have different cues, can you do a video on that, too?
With the caveat being that women are conditioned to not do these things, crossing legs, hands on legs, being small etc etc 🙄
True be interesting!
Here is an article we have about the Alpha Female =) www.scienceofpeople.com/alpha-female/
@@ScienceOfPeople Thank you!
So interesting, Vanessa!! Maybe you've already made this video, but have you identified any female alphas to run the same analysis on? That would be fascinating! I did my undergrad capstone on the top traits of female leaders and how they affected people's perception of them. These traits set them apart from other women. Since the intensity of most pronounced traits were not traditionally within stereotyped gender roles, people perceived them as less likable and therefore affected how people worked with them. These same traits in men made them highly likable, respected, and seem competent. The second half of the lit review covered behaviors that would balance those stronger leadership traits. Two traits I remember were that women leaders are highly agentic and less communal in nature. Right there, you have a recipe for an unlikable woman if you expect a woman to be agreeable and social. Thoughts?
Oh very interesting!! We don't have a video on alpha females yet, but we do have an article on it if you're interested! www.scienceofpeople.com/alpha-female/
I had the same question!
This was so great!
I would love to know what are the difference between alpha males and alpha females?
How many of the cues are the same or is it different when a woman exhibits the same gestures?
www.scienceofpeople.com/alpha-female/ Here is an article we have about alpha females!
There is no such thing as Alpha Females! Only Alpha Males! Alpha Females are i.e. Feminist aka "Masculine-Energy filled females! Females wanting to put themselves on equal footing with males. Typically females demonstrating these behaviors usually end up old and alone. They can only be in relationships with men they can control i.e. emasculated males (Beta Males). Alpha Males won't put up with supposed Alpha Female's nonsense because there can only be one Alpha in the room and that's truly going to be the male! Only Alpha Males are supposed to exude true Masculine-Energy! Females by nature as supposed to be feminine not masculine! Doth not nature teach you anything? Mankind in it's original state i.e. (Adam and Eve) shows exactly what I'm talking about as proof of when nasculine-energy filled females mess up the order of stuff! Hence everyone suffers, Adam acted like Beta Male only in that moment of time for listening to Eve and GOD punished them both because the gender order was out of whack! The animal kingdom also teaches the difference between males and females in gender roles! All in all no such thing as Alpha Females, submission is a female's true power! When they don't activate that true power they (females) are in chaos with themselves and their own existence!
Thanks Vanessa, I've learned lot about alpha.
Your contact is amazing your delivery is amazing the examples you use -- I want to say amazing I was like OK now I can do better the examples used are really creative appropriate and wonderfully illustrative of your point and your outfit is cute awesome thank you for this information. Happy September🙏🏾
Great video! Love the examples.
I'd love to see a video about female Alphas!
A submissive, supporting female of an alpha male. The only alpha move women need to make is to pick an alpha man for themselves and learn to keep him.
Well done
Thank you!
Good stuff. Question: What are you when you have the awareness to show characteristics of both alpha and beta traits, depending on mood, situations, or for the fun of showing different vibes? Probably just human. idk
Edit: ENTP personality
I'm an ENTP myself and from a personal view, ENTP range from Sigma to Alpha archetype.
An ENTP wouldn't submit or conform easily (which is a beta characteristic) but in some situations, wouldn't be bothered if something doesn't directly concern him.
I would suggest to learn and apply more of Alpha male behaviors and just do your best to Stop or doing less often the beta ones . We all have flaws but we always try to get better . .
@@letsimprove8991 beta and alpha ques are yin n yang of body communications. Im devolved enough to be aware of them and mosty let my subconscious handle it now. My question was what is someone valled who projects both ques? The question was simply to make ppl think
Thanks for the Alpha cues.

Got your book. Excited to read it... but got like few on the go. Way of the wolf, etc, and also in that part where I’m just taking action haha
Would love to see a video on alpha females? I know some of the cues translate, but my suspicion is that alpha females are even more dynamic.
Yes!!!
you're doing very well
Thank you
An alpha male is someone who's self sustaining, doesn't rely on others. Has a PURPOSE in life that he puts above others and especially women. He doesn't go around chasing a$$ like some desperate beta. Has his money right and plenty of options. He doesn't tolerate disrespect and has NO PROBLEM discarding you quickly. Even demoting you. Negativity and complaining all the time is around quick way to get you X out of his life. Always moving forward. Each day he's improved himself even 1% in some way.
He will NOT stay with a disrespectful woman out of fear of being alone. You are competing against his solitude and peace of mind. Can u bring him peace, or are you going to annoy him?
It's one thing for a woman to describe what she thinks is an alpha, or qualities she may like in alpha guy or wishes to have in a dream guy. But it's another to actually live as one.
Fyi just because a guy has A LOT of money does NOT mean he's an alpha. There are plenty of rich guys who are NOT successful with women, nor others. They actually lead very boring and depressive lives, because they thought the money would do it FOR them.
Money is an enhancer. It enhances what you already are. It's a magnafying glass. If you're a dork, and u come across money. Now you're a super dork.
If you're the man BEFORE money, and you got quite a lot of women before being rich, it enhances what you already are. You'll get BETTER women and better LOOKING women now that you've earned your way to the top 10% most women want. Alpha is what got you there. Being a nice guy is what keeps you broke and down there sadly.
So, do you disagree with her assessment?
thanks great video
Glad you enjoyed it!
Vanessa, you do these cues… 😉 which is why you are so captivating. ALPHA! 😎I’m reading Cues right now. Thanks for all you do to educate us!

Tom Cruise is the ultimate alpha male - never seen an alpha male of his magnitude before
Thanks! asi watched this ive learned that i am definitely a alpha male and grateful to hold all the specific traits of an Alpha male
please dont TRY to be one, i just did this to see if I could figure out if I was one or not
I feel like I became more of an alpha after watching this. So fun and useful! Excited to practice.)
I'm glad you enjoyed it, thank you!
thats not how it works bro
Great video Vanessa, but isn’t Tom the first one to touch Rebecca in the clip you showed? Right after the clip begins it looks like he’s the first to engage…looks like he couldn’t wait to reassure her 👍🏽
Love the breakdown and summary of each tips in this video. I found it to be very organized and easy to watch. Thanks Vanessa !
Do one for Sigma too :)
This was such a good episode, love it! I must check out Dax Shepard's show. Never viewed him as an alpha but I will be looking at him closely from now on. Have always thought Tony Robins to be quite alpha and a turn-on to me hahaha. The Rock I find very charming. What about Chris Evans? Is he considered an Alpha Male? I found that depending on who he is talking to is when Chris Evans really flexes the alpha. I've seen interviews with him and Robert Downey Junior and Chris Evans is respectful of RDJ and I notice that he makes himself smaller. Then when Chris Evans is talking about politics regarding his new site called a starting point and he's interviewing with others, the Alpha in him shows.
Evans is not Alpha. You cannot spew hatred politically the way he does and take an anti American stance and be alpha.
I have a terrible time sitting still anywhere I’m not comfortable.
hah with the example of variable voice tones I thought of Roger of Cracked's "If ... were hones" series. I just learned why he's so captivating!
I don’t usually like the term alpha male because it came into the spot light from a unfounded study of wolf relations and is co-opted by people who want a reason to mistreat women and act like jerks…but I liked this video so cool
hey vanessa, something on colour psychology, please?
www.scienceofpeople.com/color-psychology/ (:
Ok, I have a question for you Vanessa. Several times throughout history, many people seen by others as wise/smart have said in one way or another "The best people to choose to rule, or those best suited to rule, are often those who are resistant to the idea, if not outright opposed to the opportunity". So, given that you claim that alphas are men who like to be in charge, even NEED to be in charge, how do you explain this sentiment? Would you say that some alphas actually don't wish to be in charge? If so, how and why is there a difference between the two? Or would you say that such men who are resistant to rule are the much rarer type of man called a Sigma? Is that type of man something you ascribe to? Or would you have another response entirely? I'm very curious to hear what you have to say about this. Hopefully you'll see this. Thank you in advance, should you deem this comment worth your time and attention.
Angelina Jolie was the dominant one in Brad pits marriage so I don't really consider him an Alpha male even with his good looks...
Would love to see alpha female cues ❤
We actually have a whole article on that! ❤ www.scienceofpeople.com/alpha-female/
Vanessa, I enjoy your work and appreciate your insights. What does the research say about alpha's and aggression? As a man I read the situation between Cruise and the reporter as such: Cruise looked angry, but tamed his aggression. That's why the moment was so intense. Cruise's underlying aggression made it tense. At first he was shocked and gave a smile. Then it dawned on him what had happened. His smile then vanished and he became angrier as the seconds ticked by. By grabbing the reporters hand he was not inviting him into anything: he was dominating him. His line of questioning was rhetorical. he did not really expect an answer. It was another way of asserting himself over the reporter. The fact that the reporter did not pull his hand out of Cruise's grasp was an act of submission. Cruise was signalling "I will control you" and the reporter signalled back "I submit to your control."
Yes you hit the nail on the head.
Keep in mind the needless dominance asserting is insecure. Cruise has a lot of money and his time is valuable, so spending it with some reporter that makes 1 % of what he does is stupid and pleasure-seeking. Alphas are best known for not giving a damn about small things. The reporter is a nobody and there is nothing to gain from dealing with him, so his priority should have been to quickly move on from the situation. He could have said something like "touch me again without my permission and my lawyers will have a field day suing your sorry ass to stone age." A desperate need for first-hand control is very low-quality alpha if not beta. Such people waste energy and fail to be charismatic.
Bought your book ! Love it 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🙏🏻🌹✨
That Marlon Brando movie... was epic! I want to see it again.
Love the video! I would love to see one on alpha FEMALES! 💪🏻
There already is one. It's also good in that it doesn't use social stereotypes of what an alpha female is (much like this one.) Alpha females take charge but not so much in a controlling sense, more so in the sense of being the social lubricant. She keeps everything running smoothly, has initiative, takes care of people, can lead a conversation well (much as explained for the men here), also incredible listener. Stuff like that.
@@lauraelizabethbrown is this the one from 4 years ago?
No such thing. An "alpha female" is just woman taking on traditionally male characteristics.
There’s no such thing..
Wow, I had seen that prank on Tom Cruise before, but I hadn't thought about it like that. The way he handled it kinda came from a place of love. He wanted to understand why the person would do that and wanted to help him be a better person.
Nah he dominated him that was a rhetorical question he gave him lol.
How about Alpha females?
I would like to identify those kinds of traits... I mean I assume that there is such thing as an alpha female...
And do alpha males end up with Alpha females? I would assume yes...
but maybe not...
www.scienceofpeople.com/alpha-female/
I’m getting the book! I enjoy analyzing ppl😂
Thank you!! and me too 😊
This may be applicable to the office environment, but not real life. I have several friends who are CEO’s, all my friends who I grew up with are more financially successful than I, but it is very clear and apparent that I am the leader and alpha male. I was so since childhood. I don’t “act” like an alpha either or ever claim to be one. But over the years, contemplating on my life, I came to realize nature imbued something in me, something inherent to me which distinguishes me from the rest of my cousins, colleagues, friends and so on. The true alpha is something chosen by by race, biology and archetypes. This is a very large topic. In essence, the alpha can be compared to the most beautiful, strongest and magnetic fruit of a tree, known as the fruit pleroma.
Families and communities are like trees. Some are born with more nature in them than others, more ancestral “light” or “mind”, more biological raw power. I was always the most intelligent, charismatic, strongest, social, attractive of my colleges and cousins. As I grew older in life, and learnt the knowledge of ancient sages, my traits and characteristics became even more pronounced. I learnt to meditate and found pleasure in asceticism. I am a mere farmer and meditator, but the women of my community all beg for my attention and desire my companionship, meanwhile my much wealthier cousins and friends must simp and chase for women, and are most often treated like garbage. You can not become an alpha male, you are either chosen by nature or not
LOLLLLL
Do you not offer your courses to Canadians?
Hi there, I just wonder if anyone has the link to the Alpha Female episode? I was half way through, had to go do a job, and now I can't find it. Help please! :-)
Cristiano Ronaldo, Andrew Tate, Tony Robbins, Tom Cruise, Arnold... These guys are the epitome of alpha males.
Tom was just passive aggressive 😂
so I thought as well lol.
I know an alpha make, however he lives life on his terms. Not society terms. He cares very little about making a lot of money . Instead he values spiritual life. Not religious. One of a kind person I’ve ever met.
You have a very nice smile, Vanessa
Thanks so much, Vanessa, can these alpha cues be applied for females as well? I think it is not really charming for females to spread too much? Tks.
You're welcome! I have a whole article on alpha females if you want to check it out :) www.scienceofpeople.com/alpha-female/
I think many of these traits are a great example of masculinity/ alpha. Although with the exception of touching others. Affection is more so a nurture trait not a learned. My parents showed little to no affection. Taking initiative, assertiveness, and setting the tone in different environments are a great way to tell if a person has alpha traits. Another one I think could be mentioned is problem solving. I would imagine they are stubborn, but value loyality. Alpha is a very new concept to me but it does make sense.
Hi. I really like your video with Lewis howes. I think you should let the other not as educated youtuber talk about the lame celebrities. i will continue supporting you and i will make a purchase of your book because i think you are making a positive differences in the world
Michael.
3:45 hey, but they both nodded at the same time, so that female is also alpha?
Does this go for women as well? I swear every cue and action described myself. Especially the eye contact portion. I can be very animated when I talk so Iook here and there but always end up looking at the person in the end for what they may think or what they want to add to it, etc. This was just so freaky how on point it was.
No. For some reason, females think moving their hands nervously and touching things is a good thing. When men get to army, the first thing they stop doing is unnecessary gestures. Flailing movements are a sign of an unorganized mind and body. The female role is simple: be supportive, find your place, socialize in a befriending fashion, ask the authority figures what is needed to be done unless you know already. The female role is much simpler than being an alpha male. Still, a lot of modern women fail to do it. They cannot support. All they think is the marriage payday and other lazy shortcut options. Most women find purpose in being supportive and submissive.
So look for the dude in charge, seems pretty straightforward.
Me gusta trabajo!
The host in the Hugh Jackman clip claimed the most space
what's the equivalent of alpha male to a female? Like what are the gestures because I have a feeling theyre not exactly the same are they
Tony, Hugh, Tom, and Leo are the alpha of alphas!
Vanessa mimicking Leo's gaze, as Leo gazes at Ellen ☺️😂🍻
Nice video, I never knew what an alpha male was and just assumed it was a bad thing 😆
😂Glad I could clear that one up!
So I honestly never thought of myself as an Alpha especially since I know I am an introvert. The more I look at these examples the more I feel like I actually might be an Alpha. I guess if I am an Alpha, I wonder what that means at the end of the day. This video was awesome to watch regardless. I always love learning about cues from people, so thank you.
That's great! Glad you enjoyed it!
If you use expressions like "I guess" outside guessing something, you demonstrate beta energy of lack of self-confidence, feminine validation seeking tendencies and fail to assert what you think is right. Betas such as nice guys conform, alphas such as assholes push for the results. If you were alpha, your comment would simply state the fact. E.g. "I am an alpha male, fight me about it." While on the topic: the female equivalent is being submissive. Generally, no one likes alpha females because they lack the male-tier willpower, strength and rationality to get results ALONE. Also, such b'tchy / bossy females are less happy than submissive ones. Do not take the fem-masculine propaganda.
Leo was looking at monitor so he had to look that direction Ellen was looking away also
The lady at 3.45 was using her hands well as she talking.

#TYSM high value content, ect. for sure.
Do these cues also apply to alpha females?

I'm not an alpha but a sigma.. and that's what I always do.. I feel more comfortable with more than enough space for myself.. even if there's so much space and people try to get to it I kick them off 😅 ..
This is the internet's version of a alpha male.
"They claim space." Oh? You mean they MANSPREAD!? Lol.
