  • Alpha males. What is an alpha male and how can we spot them? Have you ever noticed that every alpha male has similar characteristics? Do you know an alpha male? Do you want to be the alpha male?
In this video, I break down alpha male cues so that you can spot them in action.
This video is based on the research of Darioly & Mast who researched the verbal and nonverbal behaviors of alpha males: hbr.org/2004/05/coaching-the-...
    In this video:
    0:00 Intro
1:42 Cue #1: Congruent Nodding with Dax Shepard
4:47 Cue #2 Reassuring Touch with Tony Robbins and Tom Cruise
7:35 Cue #3 Claims Space with Samuel Jackson and Hugh Jackman
11:06 Cue #4 Body Openness with Sylvester Stallone and John Wayne
13:52 Cue #5 Invites Others to Participate with Leonardo DiCaprio

Cruise is not someone I would consider an alpha, by any stretch of the imagination. He's a very insecure man and does everything he can to hide those insecurities but if you're watching closely, he doesn't do that good of a job. He's made of a career of pretending to be a macho, unstoppable hero. None of which, he is. (Macho, maybe but that is a sign of insecurity). A shining example, his finding "meaning" in the "church" of Scientology.

So interesting, Vanessa!! Maybe you've already made this video, but have you identified any female alphas to run the same analysis on? That would be fascinating! I did my undergrad capstone on the top traits of female leaders and how they affected people's perception of them. These traits set them apart from other women. Since the intensity of most pronounced traits were not traditionally within stereotyped gender roles, people perceived them as less likable and therefore affected how people worked with them. These same traits in men made them highly likable, respected, and seem competent. The second half of the lit review covered behaviors that would balance those stronger leadership traits. Two traits I remember were that women leaders are highly agentic and less communal in nature. Right there, you have a recipe for an unlikable woman if you expect a woman to be agreeable and social. Thoughts?

There is no such thing as Alpha Females! Only Alpha Males! Alpha Females are i.e. Feminist aka "Masculine-Energy filled females! Females wanting to put themselves on equal footing with males. Typically females demonstrating these behaviors usually end up old and alone. They can only be in relationships with men they can control i.e. emasculated males (Beta Males). Alpha Males won't put up with supposed Alpha Female's nonsense because there can only be one Alpha in the room and that's truly going to be the male! Only Alpha Males are supposed to exude true Masculine-Energy! Females by nature as supposed to be feminine not masculine! Doth not nature teach you anything? Mankind in it's original state i.e. (Adam and Eve) shows exactly what I'm talking about as proof of when nasculine-energy filled females mess up the order of stuff! Hence everyone suffers, Adam acted like Beta Male only in that moment of time for listening to Eve and GOD punished them both because the gender order was out of whack! The animal kingdom also teaches the difference between males and females in gender roles! All in all no such thing as Alpha Females, submission is a female's true power! When they don't activate that true power they (females) are in chaos with themselves and their own existence!

An alpha male is someone who's self sustaining, doesn't rely on others. Has a PURPOSE in life that he puts above others and especially women. He doesn't go around chasing a$$ like some desperate beta. Has his money right and plenty of options. He doesn't tolerate disrespect and has NO PROBLEM discarding you quickly. Even demoting you. Negativity and complaining all the time is around quick way to get you X out of his life. Always moving forward. Each day he's improved himself even 1% in some way.
He will NOT stay with a disrespectful woman out of fear of being alone. You are competing against his solitude and peace of mind. Can u bring him peace, or are you going to annoy him?
It's one thing for a woman to describe what she thinks is an alpha, or qualities she may like in alpha guy or wishes to have in a dream guy. But it's another to actually live as one.

    • @daviedood2503
      @daviedood2503 Год назад

Fyi just because a guy has A LOT of money does NOT mean he's an alpha. There are plenty of rich guys who are NOT successful with women, nor others. They actually lead very boring and depressive lives, because they thought the money would do it FOR them.
Money is an enhancer. It enhances what you already are. It's a magnafying glass. If you're a dork, and u come across money. Now you're a super dork.
If you're the man BEFORE money, and you got quite a lot of women before being rich, it enhances what you already are. You'll get BETTER women and better LOOKING women now that you've earned your way to the top 10% most women want. Alpha is what got you there. Being a nice guy is what keeps you broke and down there sadly.

This was such a good episode, love it! I must check out Dax Shepard's show. Never viewed him as an alpha but I will be looking at him closely from now on. Have always thought Tony Robins to be quite alpha and a turn-on to me hahaha. The Rock I find very charming. What about Chris Evans? Is he considered an Alpha Male? I found that depending on who he is talking to is when Chris Evans really flexes the alpha. I've seen interviews with him and Robert Downey Junior and Chris Evans is respectful of RDJ and I notice that he makes himself smaller. Then when Chris Evans is talking about politics regarding his new site called a starting point and he's interviewing with others, the Alpha in him shows.

Ok, I have a question for you Vanessa. Several times throughout history, many people seen by others as wise/smart have said in one way or another "The best people to choose to rule, or those best suited to rule, are often those who are resistant to the idea, if not outright opposed to the opportunity". So, given that you claim that alphas are men who like to be in charge, even NEED to be in charge, how do you explain this sentiment? Would you say that some alphas actually don't wish to be in charge? If so, how and why is there a difference between the two? Or would you say that such men who are resistant to rule are the much rarer type of man called a Sigma? Is that type of man something you ascribe to? Or would you have another response entirely? I'm very curious to hear what you have to say about this. Hopefully you'll see this. Thank you in advance, should you deem this comment worth your time and attention.

Vanessa, I enjoy your work and appreciate your insights. What does the research say about alpha's and aggression? As a man I read the situation between Cruise and the reporter as such: Cruise looked angry, but tamed his aggression. That's why the moment was so intense. Cruise's underlying aggression made it tense. At first he was shocked and gave a smile. Then it dawned on him what had happened. His smile then vanished and he became angrier as the seconds ticked by. By grabbing the reporters hand he was not inviting him into anything: he was dominating him. His line of questioning was rhetorical. he did not really expect an answer. It was another way of asserting himself over the reporter. The fact that the reporter did not pull his hand out of Cruise's grasp was an act of submission. Cruise was signalling "I will control you" and the reporter signalled back "I submit to your control."

Keep in mind the needless dominance asserting is insecure. Cruise has a lot of money and his time is valuable, so spending it with some reporter that makes 1 % of what he does is stupid and pleasure-seeking. Alphas are best known for not giving a damn about small things. The reporter is a nobody and there is nothing to gain from dealing with him, so his priority should have been to quickly move on from the situation. He could have said something like "touch me again without my permission and my lawyers will have a field day suing your sorry ass to stone age." A desperate need for first-hand control is very low-quality alpha if not beta. Such people waste energy and fail to be charismatic.

There already is one. It's also good in that it doesn't use social stereotypes of what an alpha female is (much like this one.) Alpha females take charge but not so much in a controlling sense, more so in the sense of being the social lubricant. She keeps everything running smoothly, has initiative, takes care of people, can lead a conversation well (much as explained for the men here), also incredible listener. Stuff like that.

I would like to identify those kinds of traits... I mean I assume that there is such thing as an alpha female...
And do alpha males end up with Alpha females? I would assume yes...

This may be applicable to the office environment, but not real life. I have several friends who are CEO’s, all my friends who I grew up with are more financially successful than I, but it is very clear and apparent that I am the leader and alpha male. I was so since childhood. I don’t “act” like an alpha either or ever claim to be one. But over the years, contemplating on my life, I came to realize nature imbued something in me, something inherent to me which distinguishes me from the rest of my cousins, colleagues, friends and so on. The true alpha is something chosen by by race, biology and archetypes. This is a very large topic. In essence, the alpha can be compared to the most beautiful, strongest and magnetic fruit of a tree, known as the fruit pleroma.
Families and communities are like trees. Some are born with more nature in them than others, more ancestral “light” or “mind”, more biological raw power. I was always the most intelligent, charismatic, strongest, social, attractive of my colleges and cousins. As I grew older in life, and learnt the knowledge of ancient sages, my traits and characteristics became even more pronounced. I learnt to meditate and found pleasure in asceticism. I am a mere farmer and meditator, but the women of my community all beg for my attention and desire my companionship, meanwhile my much wealthier cousins and friends must simp and chase for women, and are most often treated like garbage. You can not become an alpha male, you are either chosen by nature or not

I think many of these traits are a great example of masculinity/ alpha. Although with the exception of touching others. Affection is more so a nurture trait not a learned. My parents showed little to no affection. Taking initiative, assertiveness, and setting the tone in different environments are a great way to tell if a person has alpha traits. Another one I think could be mentioned is problem solving. I would imagine they are stubborn, but value loyality. Alpha is a very new concept to me but it does make sense.

Does this go for women as well? I swear every cue and action described myself. Especially the eye contact portion. I can be very animated when I talk so Iook here and there but always end up looking at the person in the end for what they may think or what they want to add to it, etc. This was just so freaky how on point it was.

    • @ihavenoson3384

No. For some reason, females think moving their hands nervously and touching things is a good thing. When men get to army, the first thing they stop doing is unnecessary gestures. Flailing movements are a sign of an unorganized mind and body. The female role is simple: be supportive, find your place, socialize in a befriending fashion, ask the authority figures what is needed to be done unless you know already. The female role is much simpler than being an alpha male. Still, a lot of modern women fail to do it. They cannot support. All they think is the marriage payday and other lazy shortcut options. Most women find purpose in being supportive and submissive.

If you use expressions like "I guess" outside guessing something, you demonstrate beta energy of lack of self-confidence, feminine validation seeking tendencies and fail to assert what you think is right. Betas such as nice guys conform, alphas such as assholes push for the results. If you were alpha, your comment would simply state the fact. E.g. "I am an alpha male, fight me about it." While on the topic: the female equivalent is being submissive. Generally, no one likes alpha females because they lack the male-tier willpower, strength and rationality to get results ALONE. Also, such b'tchy / bossy females are less happy than submissive ones. Do not take the fem-masculine propaganda.
