      @@CampTravelExplore - did you bring wood or collect it onsite?
      I don't travel with an ax! The sight of wood burning surprised me. Isn't the wood on-sire dump?
      Also, did you cook with wood or charcoal?
      Thanks.

    I wouldn’t let my dog run around the river bank like that anywhere in Florida. My brother in law lives right on the withlacoochee, about 5 miles from silver lake. I see gators there all the time, and they loves dogs.
    Keep your eyes open for boar too. Had a run in with a big one last year on the bike trail, had to draw my side arm.
    Once again, don’t let your dog anywhere near the water!

      Thanks for that warning! We did see some hunters off in a distance as we went down the river and thought we heard some noises that could have been a boar.

    Beautiful river, looks like a wonderful natural experience. Nice to see you out tent camping, but Cindy looked dressed for the Arctic Circle. 😁

      Lol, it was cold for Florida! Did some research on electric heaters after that trip!! :)

    • @GrandAdventure
      @GrandAdventure 2 года назад

      @@CampTravelExplore check out the Mr. Heat Buddy heater. It's a catalytic heater that runs on 1 lb propane bottes and is indoor safe.

    • @CampTravelExplore
      @CampTravelExplore  2 года назад +1

      @@GrandAdventure would it be safer than electric do you think?

    • @GrandAdventure
      @GrandAdventure 2 года назад +1

      @@CampTravelExplore neither one is truly "safe" in a tent due to the fire risk; however, the Buddy heater pumps out a ton of heat. We've used one extensively over the years.

    I really like that place. i camped at site 5 before. Cypress Glen is a little better to shield you from the I-75 noise

    It is a nice campsite but the proximity to the interstate and the noise ruins the nature vibe

      I hear ya, but there was a second campground right there but more secluded if you ever want to check it out!!

    Real real stupid letting your dog be even close to the water more or less in the water. Have you heard of alligators eating dogs? It happens so fast that there would be nothing you can do- PERIOD ! Except to hear the dog scream and watch. Dumb move bro.
