Note to everyone. Not all these 5s are made the same!!! Reason being is cause they are all made in separate factory's. Plus manufacturing dates are atleast 5 different ones or more. Remember that these are a general release. Lots were made. Can't make that many on one date!!!!
Hey man I really appreciate this video. Extremely professional & straight to the point. No fumbling with the box or nothing. This video is also sentimental to me, as these Fire Red 5s are my exit out of the shoe game. Rollercoaster of a purchase 1. Orginally bought WC 4s off GOAT which were fakes. Got refunded 2. Put an extra 40 to buy the 5s 4. GOAT didn't ship anything because of their LA warehouse so my shoes "sat" in a limbo 3. Accidentally clicked on GOAT Storage so they wouldn't instantly ship 4. Having the original distributor run out of 5s so GOAT had me on "Seller Confirmed" for a week. 5. New seller came and all the boxes got checked in 2 days 6. Had to then put $12 for shipping to ship to my crib. Unless something crazy like those rumored Oregon 5s drop, I'm done with the game. It's just not what it used to be growing up late 00s - early 10s and I'm getting up in age to where I can't justify +$160 dollar shoes anymore. Do I really have to search through forums, buy black lights, and watch countless comparison videos when I can just cop some 574s or Sauconys from their store? Idk. That, along with the professionalism of the video and my shoe checking all the legit checkpoints feels like a beautiful end to a hobby I've grown out of love for. Great video & god bless you and your family during this time
Stan, I really appreciate your comment! And I apologize for the late response. SHEESH! That was a CRAZY experience! But, I'm glad everything checkout for you in the end. I've been in the game since 2002, so I've seen the sneaker scene go through many phases. I used to be able to go to a sneaker store after school and get whatever Jordan that dropped. Once the popularity grew, then that's when the long lines and fights started. Then it transitioned into buying apparel to reserve your sneaker.....Now we have raffles, backlights, bots, excellent fakes, backdooring, etc. So, I don't blame you for exiting. Hopefully, you'll step back in here and there. Thanks again, Stan! Be safe, and many blessings to you and your family 👊🏽😎

This is the type of comment I love reading! I'm glad you got what you paid for and that my video helped you out. I really appreciate the feedback, and I hope you enjoy your kicks. Stay healthy 👊🏽😎
They are real. And that mesh is not stuck to the rubber netting at all lol. Just pointed that out. We can all see that. As you were touching it. Lol. Love em. Just like mine!
This is brutal. I just got these shoes and I am having such a difficult time telling if they are fake or not. The only real difference I can spot is that when I take the insole out there is no tape with the string, and I don't see any cardboard like yours have. Otherwise they look extremely real. I don't know if every shoe has that cardboard bottom or not with the string. Anyone know?
Thanks for commenting, Aaron. This sneaker was mass produced. And usually when that's the case, different factories will handle the production and have slight variations. If you look on the sizing tag inside the shoe, you should see a factory code. Get back to me once you find it 👊🏽😎
@@Aaronisabeast187 Sorry for the deLAyed response, bro. I had to dig up my pair. So, the factory code on my pair is "SZ". You can find it in the top right corner of the sizing tag inside the shoe.
Awesome! If you need further reassurance, I would suggest taking your pair to a sneaker boutique that resells sneakers. Usually, they offer free legit checks. If you have anymore questions, feel free to reach out!

I was watching weartesters jordan 5 fire red video and he said the leather is shiny. You say its supposed to be matted. My pair is matted is that how its supposed to be?
Yeah, I like Weartesters. One of my favorite sneaker channels on RUclips. Chris (from Weartesters) uses a lot of lighting in his videos, so maybe that's why they come off shinier to him. Also, he was comparing the 2020 version to the 1999-2000 version, and the 2020 version is probably more shiny compared to the older model. But, to answer your question, the fire red 5 is not that shiny. For the most part, they have a matte look. But, in certain lighting, the shine is very subtle in my opinion.
Thanks for commenting, Allan. Yes, production dates usually vary. The sneakers may be produced in a similar time period, but not necessarily on the same day (if that makes sense).
@@retrospectivedave9018 yeah I was thinking the same because I’m like I got my pair from footlocker and it is individuals so people can place them differently at times as long as the correct stickers are in the box is the main thing to look out for but thanks !
Aside from the branding, there might be differences in material. If you're looking at a pair with the Jumpman, you might not be able to wear them long because of the age. So, you're better off buying the one with the Nike branding because they're a lot newer and will take longer to break down.
would you trust Stock X completely to ensure these are authentic or would you suggest i start looking for clues myself? i recently copped a pair of these and i've noticed there are some white dots forming on the 3M reflective tongue which i don't think were there before? any ideas of what this may be ?
Hi, Jake! Thanks for commenting. I wouldn't put all of my trust into any secondary market when it comes to sneakers. That's not to say that StockX is deliberately distributing counterfeit sneakers. But, due to the volume they get every day, I'm sure some sneakers pass verification that shouldn't. So, always check for yourself. As for the white dots on the reflective material, I'm not sure of what's causing that. Did the tongue(s) get wet perhaps?
@@retrospectivedave9018 yes i believe the tongue might've got wet by tall grass or something. i tried licking the dots off using my finger and it made some weird smudge that then disappeared shortly after. i know nothing about sneakers lol
I see these on StockX for a little cheaper than Flight Club. Is flight club sus or more legit? I missed picking these up & they are still a reasonable price.
I ordered from Flight Club once back in 2009, and what I ordered was legit. Keep in mind that Flight Club is a consignment store, which means that people like you and me bring shoes in there to sell. So, depending on how good/bad their authentication system is, a bad pair could potentially slip through.
Yeah tru,I just see a lot of celebs buying kicks from there so figured it was most official. Is there any place you’d recommend that I wouldn’t have to worry about fakes at all besides retail? Thanks
Honestly, retail is the only way to be certain that your sneakers are 100% authentic. However, if you're going to buy outside of retail, then I highly recommend buying your sneakers in person instead of online. That way, you'll be able to inspect them for yourself before handing your money over.
@@DrakeCurry5 I'm not going to say that I don't believe in it because their process could very much be legit. I just don't know the details behind it. I'm not going to say it's fake just because you got it through StockX. What size do you wear? If you wear a men's size, then the shoe shouldn't have the R on the sole. It might be different for youth sizes.
Bro, I have two questions. The quality control stamp on the box has an "N" but the soul on the sneaker has a "0" on the second to the last character. Everything else is the same. Is that supposed to be that way? Also, Did all these 2020 fire red 5's have the same production date? Mine is 09/04/19 - 11/04/19. Thanks
