    Good review. I have now had one of these for two months. If you're someone who wants a fast car, this is not it. If you want a GREAT commuter car for an excellent price, this car cant be beat. I love it. You get a lot for your money. Much more than a Mazda 3, which was my last car. More room inside, more options, less money than Mazda3. Both great cars.

    I've loved my 2013 GT. Averaged 32mpg mixed driving. 0 issues. Just oil changes and gassed her up. 3 years. Debating between another one or a 16 veloster turbo. We'll see!
    The auto is nice. In manual mode, its responsive. It fun to drive around town, but he NAILED it when he said there is no low end torque. It's a great grocery getter. Steering wheel modes make it a "sporty feel" around turns, but I'd never push this over 80%.

    For many of people, me included, it's one of the best option for the price. It gives to you, a good looking, reability, nice car for every day.

    I test drove this car and liked the acceleration. Not bad for a 1.8/148hp motor. It's crazy how many features you get for the price; pano-roof, heated seats, cooled glovebox, etc. I'm driving an Accent GL sedan right now 6spd and it's quite good. I may get a GT sometime next year.

    The 2013 Hyundai Elantra GT is America's best designed and most reliable sports hatch of 2013. This is German engineering and Korean manufacturing specialty at its finest.
    Forza Hyundai Motors!

    Lawsuit over epa misinformation?
    Cars I have owned, 2002 Pontiac Sunfire, epa 25city/33highway, 28 combined. I averaged 23mpg.
    1990 Pontiac grand am, 20city/29 highway, 23 combined. I averaged 20.5 mpg, and got no more than 25mpg driving straight highway no traffic at 72mph.
    2004 Oldsmobile Silhouette, 19city/26highway rated. I averaged 17.5mpg, and got about 23mpg driving 72-75 mph on the highway.
    My 2007 Chevy Malibu was right on the money. 24city/34highway, I got 25mpg average, gas gauge did not work so I filled up every 300 miles and it was right at 11.9-12.1 gallons. I got 33.33mpg on a road trip on straight highway driving.
    My point is most estimates are off anyway. It is insane there was a class action lawsuit over 2mpg.
    My 2001 Elantra GT was rated at 25city/33highway. I averaged 24.5 -25mpg and my best straight highway economy at 70mph driving was around 28mpg. That is about what is realistic.

    I really dig the full glass roof in this car.

    It is interesting that Hyundai underwent a class action lawsuit due to misinformation about epa estimates. I know my former boss bought a 2009 Prius in 2010 and he said its epa estimates were off. The estimates for that car were 45 combined, he said 42 or less is all he could get. That goes for many cars. I owned a 2002 Pontiac Sunfire and I could not average more than 23mpg.

    Actually planning to trade in my 2019 Corolla hatch to get this specific year, Ik that sounds sort of counter intuitive but it’s already hard to find a Corolla hatch now that’s not scalped to all hell, and let alone finding one with a manual transmission that’s hitting the high 20ks low 30s (the damn SE model), I’ve heard good things about Hyundai vehicles now and was seeing what the hype was all about, also I’d get myself out of about 7k of debt when it’s all said and done and enjoy it a lot more since it’ll be a manual🙂

    Thanks for the response. There was a new Focus parked at my workplace the other day, it was next to an Elantra. If Ford didnt steal the rear design from Hyundai I dont know what else to say. Then I saw the rear of the Fusion, thought it was a Sonata rip off. I'm not a Ford fan at all, and them ripping off Hyundai to an almost "T" doesnt help. But Yes, I really like Toyota. In fact out of all the cars I'm looking at in the small car segment, I like the Yaris SE, manual.

  • @Boujai12
    @Boujai12 11 лет назад

    Continued.....the 1/5 in the Yaris is so durable, (like their 1.8)....I have a Camry with 381,000 miles on it. Out Corolla had 245,000 before we traded it....so you can see why I like Toyota...we just drive them..change the oil and tires....

    good over view. Im stil undecided. trying to figure which is best for our daughter college gradution present: The Tuscon or Hyundai GT. Really dont want to spend a fortune. do any of you have any suggestions?

  • @supercooled
    @supercooled 11 лет назад

    Tuscon is hardly an SUV, per se. It's just a jacked up hatchback like the Nissan Juke, imo. As far as picking between the two, I would go with the Tuscon for driving dynamics but if your daughter likes to have a higher ride height, obviously the Tuscon is better. That said, I would also consider the Nissan Juke which is about the same price.

    does the base package still come with alloy wheels?

  • @Boujai12
    @Boujai12 11 лет назад

    Personally I would do the Hyundai or Mazda 3. I think once you drove the Mazda, you would really like it, but the hyundai has the warranty...Although the Mazda is prob really reliable. No Toyota? Not for nothing, BUT. They are really reliable. I cant wait to see the redesigned 2014 Corolla in person. I should also say. The Elantra sedan is one of the nicest looking cars in the price range i have seen in a long time. he new fords are ripping off hyundai big time. ford suck though.

  • @ecurules

    How do you think it compares to the Mazda3 hatch?

  • @yongutsa
    @yongutsa 11 лет назад

    Do not compare Hyundai with Mazda. Mazda 3 is way ahead of the game in terms of drivability, agility, and fuel economy because I know what Mazda stands for and in fact I'm driving 3.

    Gordon, get a plugin called Fisheye-fixer by CrumplePop. It takes away the GoPro's fisheye look.

    The huyndai lied about the fuel efficiency numbers to sell more cars and they were exposed and made pay the owners back with shame. Cheap trick didn't work in the US. Get the the proper H car, not italicized.
