I just stripped the K10 gears in less than 20 minutes on the trail. Pitiful!!! Is the tranmission all metal inside at least? The portals were metal at least.
Thanks for the post. I’m currently trying the very same upgrade but can’t get the rear portal axle housings to slot back into the diff/axle housing - it’s like the notches just won’t go back in. How did you do it?
It took me some time to fit it back in for the portal axles, It was a real tight fit. You just have to align it real good and it should go in. Took a lot of patience for me to do

The new one is the FCX18 LC80, it has the portal axles where the front and rear ring and pinion diff gears are plastic. The old one is just called 1/18 lc80 crawler but just have normal solid axle (not portal axles) where the ring and pinion diff gears are metal from factory. The old one has the interior aswell whereas the new one just have tinted windows
