I've been meaning to play HSR on the deck basically since I got it.. But with the bans I figured it might not be the best idea, so I waited. But recently, I've come across a post where someone says that they've allegedly spoken to a Hoyo Dev, and that dev said, that they won't be banning people for honkers railways, as it is not invasive or whatever. So here I am, installing it right now.
@kingobaeron as one of the launcher devs, this is the first I hear of this. Proof please. If you're referring to the Reddit post, that post had vibes of "my uncle works at Hoyo trust" and good LORD was that post absolutely NOT proof of anything.
I can't change the installation path. I want to change to change where I want to install to my SD card but the app doesn't allow me to do so. What should I do??
@@HiTechLoLife no there's no error. It's just don't allow me to access to change my installation folder. I can't even access to the Global Game version installation.

Hi. Mine says "Failed to patch game (Incorrect mfplat patch hash)". It's after my steam deck got updated about 3 days ago. Can you help me on this one? And it's not loading the Classic background.
I cannot change the install folder location, I click the "global folder" option and nothing opens up. Leaving me unable to finish the "Create prefix" step in the download components page. If anyone knows a workaround that'd be nice. (I'm on a Steamdeck OLED btw)
I got it to work past that point. Just had to wait forever! It sat at 100% for at least 30 minutes before it moved to unpacking, and then it sat there at 0% for at least 30 minutes. Now it's working for me. Hopefully be booting the game up shortly.
@@jacobgiganti5075 thanks I'll try it again. I managed to make ZZZ work but I found it boring and tedious after a couple of days. HSR may be more my cup of tea
I had the same problem. You have to be patient! Trust me, I reinstalled the launcher and game multiple times. It will stay at 100% for quite some time, at least 30 minutes for me. After this, it will go to "unpacking". It was stuck at 0% for a long time, at least another 30 minutes for me. It's finally starting to work. I will update if I get the game to work after this.
@jacobgiganti5075 good luck and please keep me posted I haven't bothered trying since this came about so maybe I'll attempt to leave my deck on overnight to sort itself out. Any idea how to ensure the screen stays on so it doesn't fall asleep I fear that gets in the way of unpacking or have you found no issue with it?
@Callamuchi I have the game running and it works like a charm! Just got logged in about 5 minutes ago. So I changed the settings on the deck to not go to sleep for 20 minutes and just kept it at my desk while I did other things and monitored it. It did several different unpacking and downloading processes before I got the ability to "launch" the game. Once I confirmed it worked, I added it to the steam library and went back to the gaming mode, booted it up and works great. You may have to use the touch screen to get going, but once I got in the game, it was more or less native controls for controller.
in my version it didn’t run in Game Mode. But it runs with kb and mouse on desktop mode. Any recomendation i missed would be highly appreciated! Thanks!

i tried for a 10th time to add to steam and for some reason it worked, i do not know what is happened, but it is just exec the launcher, so thank you much for your tutorial!❤
I would check your Steam Input settings for Honkai to see if maybe the Deck set it to Mouse/Keyboard by default and have it set to the standard gamepad template.

I have no other option but to try installing it on the SSD, but because I have already installed ZZZ and Genshin (wanted to try getting all Mihoyo games at the same time XD) and my SSD is 256GB, I can't install it (says it needs 94GB to download resources). How can I install on SD card?
So what you wanna do there is actually delete the Honkai folder you made and then try running the launcher again. This should fix it. Same thing happens with the new ZZZ Sleepy launcher.
@@VictorMichaelRawks You have to inside the launcher manually change all of the directory paths (the i know what I'm doing option) to home .var app and then the honkers launcher folder. Try it out and restart a couple of times until the directories are correct everywhere. And your wine and dx version shows correctly

I have seen a tutorial somewhere on yt but dont remember the channel. That guy programmed an emulator himself to get this game running. It is damn tedious tho. Way too much work
@@ucky9226Genshin Impacts anti cheat works different from Honkai Starrails and Genshin doesnt give out active bans. People in Starrail however have been getting more frequent bans which is why he brought up the risk.
i really love the idea of the steam deck but when i need to watch a video like that ( and i dont mean it in a negative way i just mean in a complicated way) too just play the games i want on the steam i rather buy a handheld with windows on it and just play whatever i want with no problems (and also game pass and the tons of games with anti cheats wich u cant use on linux) steam deck is kinda annoying about thoose things

Whenever I try to launch the game is says “failed to launch game” “is a directory” I’m not sure what to do…
I would look to see if there's an update for the launcher in the Discover app.

I followed all the steps, and after I restart the launcher , it says that something’s failed and now I’m trying to repair game to see if it works

The launcher says i need 100 gb free in space and i know for a fact jonkai isnt over or even close to 100 gb what is wrong with this
Honkai does require like 100 GB to download then install but the game itself ends up being far less than that AFTER installation.

When I enter the link in the Discover App it asks me for a Password, do someone have the same issue ?
Did you set a password for sudo? If so then it's your sudo password.
How's the battery life on it?

Ain't it easier and safer to just launch the Epic Games version through heroic ?
This launcher comes with a patch that patches the anticheat so that it works on Linux.

Be sure to also update the launcher itself occasionally. You'll be able to do so via the discover app if you followed the guide.
