I've got a video myself on here at a show I visited, with a chap demonstrating these rammers, even got to have a go myself, awesome things to handle, he was at it all day, sweat pouring off him. Great things to see though, common sight for me as a kid. Brilliant.
These are mightily complicated engines...the first ones made in the 1920s with the pull-up handle were two-stroke but all later ones were four-stroke. A very complex gas-operated (from what I recall) valve system makes this possible.
i worked at warsop power tools in the seventies building these machines!the firm was in redhill surrey and closed down in 1980.
