Guruji, COUNTIF formula with wildcard is working on the same sheet. But, it is not working on two sheets. For example: Same sheet formula: COUNTIF(C:C,"*"&A2&"*")-Working Two sheet formula: COUNTIF(‘Sheet 1’!C:C,’Sheet 2’!"*"&A2&"*")-Not working I am using EXCEL 2010. I am using Wild card of Numbers, not on Characters. Could you pls help me?

Sir in A1column name is written Ste and b1 column name is written steven c1 column value 6. In d1 column I am using this formula =iferror(Vlookup(A1&"*",A1:b1,3,0), "false")) The answer it will give 6. My difficulty is when I am changing A1 column name from ste to a or b,or any name, The output 6 is not changing but when I put in A1 column any numeric number it shows false. My basic request to you is I am missing something where A1 must find equality in b1. Such as A1 is ste and b1 is Steven Then A1 must check b1 has ste as wildcard character shows and give output,when A1 gets changes manually to any name the formula must show false. Request to you sir I am into food and beverage inventory and I have these semi names with proper names, Please assist me.
