- Sumproduct is one of the important formulas in excel. As the name suggest, the sumproduct formula firstly multiply the multiple column values row by row and then provide the total of the entire column in a single cell.
Usually all of us use multiple columns for calculation purposes but excel sumproduct function works with arrays which means there is no need of adding multiple columns, here we get the result in a single cell. Sum product function in excel help us to save a lot of time. The sumproduct function in excel is the combination of product and sum in excel. Explanation is excellent. I have used this for years, but first time came to know what parameters to use. One question I have is, when you used AND (*) you did not use (--). Why so? You used that in OR only.

Sir, can you please tell how to write the formula for finding partial match inside a sumproduct formula (instead of writing fully need to type as " Fari" for Faridabad) also how to write by referring a cell having "Fari". This will be very useful.
The wildcards (*) can't be used in SUMPRODUCT formula. So, the above problem can be solved only by Sumifs formula.

Sumif ke formula ke through ho jayega but you need to use SUM and SUMIF formula together with { } brackets.

Sir, this is nice example & i appreciate your effort here. but i have that contains upto 9 month data for different product (i.e inbound: case receiving, Outbound : case receivingetc... ) & i need to extract the qty & amount for certain product for certain month. I tried with sumproduct but didn't get the out put. I got the total of qty for january, but now i need to break it down in product. how can i do it? Because the data has inbound, outbound & sub category will be case receiving, inbound bar coding, pallet receiving like that. I appreciate your answer if you can solve my query

This is really a very good question! Humne double negative use karne ki jarurate nahi padi because we are multiple both ranges like this (A6:A25=I7)*(B6:B25=I8). Jab bhi hum range ko multiply karte hai then double negative ki jarurate nahi padti kyuki agar app FALSE * FALSE karoge to you will get 0 and TRUE * TRUE kagoge to 1 milega.
Double negatives ko tabhi use karna hai jab ya to ek range ho ya fir dono range me comma ho like this (A6:A25=I7),(B6:B25=I8)
