This exploit is live for at least 2 weeks. My friend reported it to Riot by submitting ticket and they have just closed the ticket with no further information xD

Let's see Trundle ult him, and then get Morde to death realm and kill the Trundle during the stat increase. Then we have Lore Correct Mordekaiser.
If Taric gets negative armor nothing will happen
Riot has an auto ban system that counts deaths, as well as a live stat-tracker. They also have some kind of algorithm tracking achievements, for tokens and such. There is 0 excuse not to have an auto ban system for impossible DMG numbers.
What if a bug happens against the will of the player giving him high dmg ?

@@sonoflethal This isn't a bug...? A bug, is Nunu's snow ball vanishing, or Sion's Q going on CD before it finishes. This is an exploit... and with the numbers we are looking at here. There is no arguement you can make that this could feasibly happen by accident. Noone is stupid enough to think that millions of DMG is part of the game.

Wow. I always wonder how simple bugs like this survive into ranked. I feel bad for all the folks who had to deal with that.
it's just the natural conclussion to 10 years of bandaid fixes with no code overhaul. unless they decide on remaking the entire game from scratch, stuff like this will only get worse the more stuff they add.

@@noname-sl7vf just have AI check the Code for loopholes and compile the Code removing unnecessary lines. Believe it or not, at times of ChatGPT someone with the source Code could literally have it done free of charge within minutes, hours worst case scenario

I’m surprised that when the armor value goes negative due to integer overflow that he doesn’t instantly blow up from a minion, normally the process that causes its respective value to be treated as a negative which would amplify damage taken in this case, so riot probably does some absolute value in their code to make negative armor/mr impossible

I always assumed there would be a hard cap of 80% or so when it comes to damage reduction, almost every game does something like that
one would assume that if you are doing 4 mln dmg in one game or get 13k armor someone would check that but I guess its not something that can be automated by an indie company

in league, armor and magic resist scale linearly, so there is no need to cap it. 100 armor is a 100% increase to your effective health (the amount of physical damage you can absorb before dying) which works out to a 50% damage reduction. 400 armor is a 400% increase, or an 80% reduction. from an effective health standpoint, every new point of armor is worth exactly the same as every point before it. if armor was just a straight up damage reduction, a cap would be necessary because the increase to your effective hp would be more and more as your damage reduction increased, making every new point worth way more than your previous points.
this kind of math is the reason cooldown reduction was changed to ability haste - every point of cdr was worth more than the last so it had to be capped at 40%, which made buying items with cdr a huge hassle. you always wanted to go from 30% to 40% since that was when 10% cdr was the most valuable, but you didnt want to overshoot it because you'd go over the cap and any extra would be wasted. now with ability haste you dont have to worry about it because every new point of ability haste is worth the exact same as the last.
Fyzz already explained it wonderfully, so I only want to add that armor is soft caped by what's available in the game. Extra precautions aren't necessary when all you can achive is reasonable within normal gameplay. It only would matter with bugs like these; and if a bug occours, you gotta fix it anyway.
In my head cannon Hextech Labs was built by Vandiril then he left after he shared the knowledge of finding bugs to them, anw interesting bug.

Its insane to me that there's no auto detect for things like this, the numbers in all of those games are incredibly anomalous and if they have the tech for stat trackers and achievements then they should have a way to automatically temp ban someone from ranked for doing stuff like this
or at least flag them for further investigations

You'd have to ban the whole community. The problem is, they should just disable ranked until they figure it out. But then there wouldn't ever be ranked again because they'd never fix all the bugs.

I just had a game where the enemy team tried this in bot lane. We thought it was weird. They lost misserably. Now I find out they were trying to exploit this bug/feature. It was normals blind pick. And they didn't even succeed.
bug abusers are literally the worst kind of players both metaphortically and literally. They're so shit at the game they have to resort into abusing game breaking bugs with almost 0 counterplay to win (Neeko transforming into the fountain 🗿)
Even if it's normals blind pick it's still unacceptable to abuse bugs like this. Pretty much ruins the fun for 8 other players tbh

even when i do open it up i do regret it for 2 3 weeks after. This game is going down the hell with a Rocket . Matchmaking is completely and utterly broken i get players lvl 25 29 even 150+ that play just like bots or even worse while i am lvl 350+ and 10 years old account and i keep reporting them and every time i reopen the game they give me 3 to 5 thx for reporting we pennalized them for the report
