Before my grandma passed away, she had bought three tickets for me, my mom, and my sister to go see this. Even though she didn't come with us I still think of her when I hear these songs or watch the movie.
When I was about 7-8 years old my late grandmother (who was my mother figure since my mother left me) bought tickets for her and I to go see this in NY. I Absolutely love this play and every time I watch videos of this play I can't help but tear up because I know she will always be with me in the great circle of life. ❤

my school's choir saw this in nyc in april and we got to talk to some of the cast members after. mufasa and simba are honestly amazing. and the day after we had a clinic with an ensemble member who taught us this song, and it was honestly a dream come true lol. i can never hear it now without singing the ensemble part
I just saw this show today. What a beautiful experience. So much talent. It was hands down the most phenomenal and stunning performance that I have ever seen.
It's very much worth it. I'm a pretty poor guy and only get to spend on shows like this once in a great while, but I don't regret this in the least. It was beautiful and made for a wonderful anniversary. The costumes alone are worth seeing it for, the music just blew me away!
You are talented, my friend. You have those qualities in you, too, so if you wish to sing or compose or play an instrument, do not hesitate in reaching for the stars. :-)
I remember going to see this for my 13th birthday. I remember crying at how soulful it was, and I still get teared up when I hear this. Got to be the most beautiful Broadway musical
I have such good memories of singing the Lion King broadway medley in choir. We went to a workshop and sang with the cast. It was the best day ever. It felt amazing to hear my choir with the cast.
I saw this performance last month as a graduation present from my girlfriend. It was the most amazing gift I was ever given. Not only was it the first movie I ever seen, it is also the first broadway play I've ever seen. It is the most amazing experience i've ever witnessed.
Ive seen many musicals but nothing beats this show! Not even wicked! (In my opinion) AMAZING vocals, big magical sets + lights, costumes that you could only imagine! Its truly spectacular and i cant wait to go again!
I saw this when they toured a few years ago and it was the most magical thing I have ever experienced! Everything was just so beautiful, the actors, the sets, the music, everything! Glad I got a chance to experience it!
I just saw the play for the 4th time. Took my daughter for her 21st birthday and boyfriend(his first time seeing a Broadway play). It's one of my favorite plays, I will definitely see it again. Love the music, and it gives me chills every time I listen to the music.
Saw this gem 10 years ago in NYC as a part of a class trip. This was my very first Broadway Musical, and one of the most unforgettable experiences of my life. This musical deserves a long life on Broadway.
Everyone should have the opportunity to see Lion King on Broadway! It’s an incredible experience. Unforgettable. I’ve adored Lion King since it first came out and here I am, almost 30 and it still holds a special place in my heart. Long live the King!
My school did this last year, and on the last day of school we had a talent show, and at the end all the teachers did this number, and the school counselor played Rafiki and at the end held up her baby that she had that year. It was amazing.
I just listened to all three versions of this song, from the original The Lion King, then 2019 version, then this version. This is by far my favourite. Even better when you are experiencing it first hand in the theatre. It's just so beautiful, and powerful, it blows me away.
God, I still remember seeing this at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas. The animals walking down the aisles, the amazing vocals, the beautiful stage settings... Whoever is in charge of the shows in Vegas needs to bring this back...
When I had gone with my famiy to see this, I was so moved and so was the audience as this song started. Everybody was standing throughout the entire song.
I must have been the only person who cried their eyes out when i saw this xD but seriously when that elephant came out, i was gone, no tissues could have helped :')
It was my first watching this live two weeks ago! I was crying the whole time basically from the music. Hearing each part with the instruments was too emotional!
I lost it in the middle of the song when I saw it live in Minneapolis. My favorite movie coming to life so beautifully... I couldn't contain all the happiness and excitement so I just bawled my brains out :*D
My middle school is going to do the junior version of this! I'm so excited! The music teacher who also teaches chorus and directs all of the musicals the school does just told us yesterday! I love musicals and cant wait to be in this one!
My school does it but it is three different grades and a lot of people audition. I wanted to be a lead because it is my last year to be in our middle school play and then I go off to high school. I got the part of Sarabi, Simba's mother. I'm happy with it but I wish I had more lines and maybe a solo. Oh well! It is still going to be so much fun. Congratulations on being Mufasa, that part is a lot of work so you must be very dedicated.
Lion King is such an important musical to me. I have seen it on broadway four times between the age of six and seven. Now that I'm twelve, I want to see it again just to remember because it was the first musical on Broadway I saw and musical theater has become my life passion. I played Mufasa over the summer and have made some of my best friends! I love it!
Whenever people ask me to play my favorite song, I play this and they think I'm making a joke but I'm not... it's truly a very pretty song :/ I love the harmonies in here //
We are doing this play at our school and I was really excited, because I wanted to try out for either Rafiki or young Simba. I was too scared to try out though. However, I missed the bus one day and I was stuck in the auditorium so I started singing this. Next thing I know they want me to be in the play as Rafiki, because of my strong voice.
I just saw this today as my first Broadway show ever. Cried six times. Twice in the first number. Only complaint was that I couldn't understand the hyenas when they sang live. Everything else was spectacular
i saw this show in off broadway in boston with my dad and step mom some years back absolutely amazing. so much fun amazing actors, props and of course the songs who doesnt love the lion king i would love to see the live show again i dont have kids but i think great introduction for them to stage musicals
I remember it like it was yesterday. For my 10th birthday, my mother took me to see The Lion King on broadway in L.A. omg was I blown away. Thank you mommy ❤
I first read about the Broadway adaptation via a Weekly Reader article I remember reading about when I was nine, which was when it just entered the scene. I instantaneously thought of that memory when I sat through such a performance at Proctor’s Theater in Schenectady, New York that took place in February of 2011 when I was attending college at SUNY Adirondack, which I currently reside roughly four kilometers away from.
The first time when I saw the Lion King musical. I was scared of it first but when I got used to it. I loved it and when I saw it the second time a few days ago with my dad. It was the most magical moment of all.

I saw the Broadway show when they were touring in my city, and I cried so hard. There is something so magical about this play. It is heartfelt and beautiful. The songs, the characters. Everything. It is literally so perfect. You can't listen to this and not feel moved.
I'm doing The Lion King for dance! We are using alot of the music from the Broadway show. I am a zebra, grass, and a wildebeest :) It's going to be awesome!
Throughout Primary School, (I'm British) I remember LOVING the phrase 'the sun rolling high in the sapphire sky'. I used it in every creative writing task possible. It still remains one of my favourite descriptions 😁
my school is doing the lion king and it is going to be amazing because we have done grease, wedding singer and also back to the 80. cant wait to do it.
Me and my momma just saw this tonight. PHENOMENAL! Amazing. We had balcony seats and my momma had to pull me back cause she was afraid I'd fall over. It's so perfect for the movie we remember, but brings a rich level of culture to it.
I am a South African living abroad and when I saw this live it made me cry. Miss Africa.
+James Farina Don't mean to be racist or anything, but are you one or the other?

The little chant after "it's the circle of life" makes me really happy, for some reason. I adore this song!
ohbuckybarnes if we're thinking of the same thing, the chant is apparently Balek' ingonyam'i ya gale' which means run, the lion will attack
You say it (BAH-lek-een-gon-YAH-mee-YAH-gah-leh)
I know this because I am in the lion king jr and it says that in the back of the script
shes bilingual
My first Broadway show. I cried during the opening song and throughout the show. Too many emotions to put into words. Incredible show
not my first show but it was something i had wanted to see since i was 11 i was 21 when I finally got to go. I cried A LOT
that "wenyamaaaa, wenyamaaa" bit near the beginning always gives me chills. it's so beautiful.
It's nyo ma. Sorry I'm in the Lion King JR. For ,y school and I'm Rhafiki

OH MY GOD THE HARMONIES! I'm sure they sing this to you when you reach heaven! just brilliant!
This is somehow Gospel music. Can you feel your soul stirring?
There's a reason for that. This style of music is literally a precursor to Gospel music.
He likes in you is literally a worship song
Yes
Endless night also really hit.me in that direction as well.
Andrae Crouch, a gospel artist, actually helped with the choir arrangements for the songs, so you're not off at all.
my school's choir saw this in nyc in april and we got to talk to some of the cast members after. mufasa and simba are honestly amazing. and the day after we had a clinic with an ensemble member who taught us this song, and it was honestly a dream come true lol. i can never hear it now without singing the ensemble part
A clinic?
like a workshop. learning the music, and talking to the guy. it was a lot of fun

Alicia Allen I did the same thing when I was in highschool super cool!
I did the junior version of this at schoo
Thumbs Up If You think This Is The Best Opening Of The Musical
This is the *best* opening to *any* musical!
true
Twintube agreed I loved the soundtrack and then saw it on Broadway and cried like a little baby. So beautiful and its all around you I was overcome
I got to see it twice, once with my sister, and the other time with me fiance
Student what do you think the best opening song for a musical is? (Not trying to be mean or anything like that, I'm just curious)
I just saw this show today. What a beautiful experience. So much talent. It was hands down the most phenomenal and stunning performance that I have ever seen.
Saw this on Broadway, it was the most amazing performance I've ever seen live. Their voices are beautiful!!!!!
I /really/ wish to see this live. Their voices are soooo amazing and it just makes me so damn happy.
It's very much worth it. I'm a pretty poor guy and only get to spend on shows like this once in a great while, but I don't regret this in the least. It was beautiful and made for a wonderful anniversary. The costumes alone are worth seeing it for, the music just blew me away!
+D Schean Ah, I'm jealous! One day I'm going to go see them!
You really should!! I got to see it my senior year last year and I seriously cried it was so beautiful.
It's just as good or better than it sounds. Maybe the best piece of theatre I've ever seen! Tears were shed... :')
It's brilliant! I honestly cried about 40 seconds into this song when they performed it live.
Would I be considered a baby if I told you that I burst into tears when I saw this live?
Rumble Delta I've seen it three times and I've cried at the opening every time
I don't know if I'd handle it live, i cry at the opening when i watch the original film!!
No. I saw it live when it came close to where I live back in April and I had tears in my eyes.
Rumble Delta I wanna see it live again! I saw it live a LONG time ago but would give anything to see it again!!!!!
No, because i saw this in London and cried too!
The whole soundtrack is incredible - just as magical as the movie ❤️
Beautiful music, if I was that talented I'd be proud of my self
You are talented, my friend. You have those qualities in you, too, so if you wish to sing or compose or play an instrument, do not hesitate in reaching for the stars. :-)
wt8012 u the wise 🐵?
I honestly prefer this version over the original
This IS the original, sang by the amazing Tony Award Nominated original "Rafiki", Tsidii Le Loka. AN UNBELIEVABLE, UNFORGETTABLE, MIRACULOUS TALENT!

I just saw this play again after more than twenty years and it still touches my heart.
The show opening with the animals coming from the left and right. So magical
When I had gone with my famiy to see this, I was so moved and so was the audience as this song started. Everybody was standing throughout the entire song.
What an amazing rendition of the song. This musical is simply spectacular!
I saw this on Broadway this year. It is even more beautiful in person! The music brings me to tears
I took my partner earlier this month to see this when it played in our city and I loved how this number was so interactive

+FroggisMcFrog You weren't the only one. The audience stood and clapped around me while I...sat and struggled to hide my tears.

From the day we arrive on the planet
And, blinking, step into the sun
There's more to see than can ever be seen
More to do than can ever be done
There's far too much to take in here
More to find than can ever be found
But the sun rolling high
Through the sapphire sky
Keeps great and small on the endless round
It's the circle of life
And it moves us all
Through despair and hope
Through faith and love
Till we find our place
On the path unwinding
In the circle
The circle of life
It's the circle of life
And it moves us all
Through despair and hope
Through faith and love
Till we find our place
On the path unwinding
In the circle
The circle of life

Viewing the Lion King, whether it is on film or on the stage, is magnificent. To imagine the greatness of life and how we all figure into the "Circle of Life" makes me feel grateful that Our Heavenly Father allowed me to experience life in all of it's many forms.

my school is doing the lion king and it is going to be amazing because we have done grease, wedding singer and also back to the 80. cant wait to do it.
The Lion King was the first Disney movie I've seen in a cinema. Every time I listen to this theme now I still get goosebumps.
on my Days off i wake up to this awesome wonderful music with my cup of coffee and some thing to eat too.
I saw the show with my mom and my brother a few years ago
Just hearing the songs made me crack a smile every time
Me and my momma just saw this tonight. PHENOMENAL! Amazing. We had balcony seats and my momma had to pull me back cause she was afraid I'd fall over. It's so perfect for the movie we remember, but brings a rich level of culture to it.
Can't wait for Broadway's reopening in September to go and see this live again!
