Hey thanks for making that video. Im very excited about mobile filmmaking and im still surprised that the options that are available out there are kinda limited. I understand why you when back to just filming with the phone and the case. It is the simplest thing that you always have with you. I started using my phone with a FreeWell Sherpa Grip with a Bluetooth shutter. And i find it ok, not perfect though. I wish it had some kinda tripod option to put the phone down. I dont yet have a way to mount ND Filters. Im kinda looking for a good solution there. I guess it is a work in process for all of us. All the best!

It sure sounds like you have sparked up a love for filmmaking. It's really a "Individual" experience, I'm happy you kinda get that message. Any of these 3 scenarios work good, depending on the circumstances. 1 is definitely the top notch for serious film making. In the end my theory is "What goes fastest into recording - editing and output is what works for me. There's a ton of new products out there for mobile film making and they all have their charm. Good luck with your exciting journey!
PS. you wrote you'd like some sort of tripod option, from the images online I see that your sherpa thing has that. So you should be able to have that. If you really like the jjc device you can also get that one and mount a tripod arca swiss plate to the bottom of it also another option. But imo, if you have the sherpa grip already, I'd say waste your effort and get a 17mm cpl and cover and then you're all done.

@@VlogsByEl thank you for the advice. Yea the FreeWell Sherpa grip has some interesting functionality. It is almost at a point where id say it offers an (almost) perfect solution. The one thing i am struggling though is that it does not have an integrated small tripod to set it down. It barely balances the phone when i set it down and it definitely cant position a shot with the grip alone. The grip comes with a mount and i can mount a small tripod at the bottom but it then kinda defeats the purpose of the extendable selfie stick of the grip. Also then it is not so compact anymore if you have to add an additional tripod to use it properly. I am sure there is technology out there to integrate small tripod arms inside the grip. Kinda like the new insta360 flow 2 pro gimbal has. But in a way smaller form factor. I might just ave to carry around some kinda small tripod all the time. Maybe a micro tripod that connects to the phone or a monopod that gives me the ability to prop it all up at face height… will see.
