Sorry for your loss my brother. Hope all is well now. I hunt for my blacktail starting in 9 days. I took an going through some tuff times. I found a great place if solitude to talk with the father. Thank you brother. You give me strength. Much love 🙏
Awesome Buck Shane! An absolute grey ghost! Not many are as deserving as yourself. I got in touch with you earlier this year for advice. I was up in your country in September for my Dad's Chowder Ridge Goat Hunt. He harvested one as well. It is amazing country that we get to share and offers so much more than what we can grasp. It often helps ease our minds and spirit. Glad there are hunters like you out there that do it right and show others what its about! Keep up the good work Shane. God Bless.
Completely awesome video and buck. I really appreciate the fact that his score matches what he looks like. I see so many guys on RUclips saying "he's right there at 130" as they're holding a 95 inch buck.
Wow! Such a Great Video dude! Thanks for sharing the inspiration! I'm sorry for your loss but it has proven to be motivation for you! Keep up with the positive vibes! I'll pray for your family & continuous success on the hunts!
Great hunt. I hunt similar areas in Washington State and I know that is a true Blacktail trophy. Thank you for your hunt and narrating your experiences getting closer to our Creator through His creation.
What a beautiful beast you harvested! I want to congratulate you also on the video itself, well done, great editing, and beautiful choice of tunes too! With God's guidance, you have provided the purest form of food for your family, and you did it solo, well done. That steep slope on the pack out looked a bit painful. Was this in the Olympics or the Cascades?
Any chance you could share the general region? I'm moving to WA and would love to backpack in some of this terrain. Much appreciated if you can. Either way thanks for sharing.
hi, could u tell me where is it? in skagit ? i like here so much. when u came here, did u see many people here? i mean does there has police? or just a national mountain?
He appears to be hunting somewhere in the Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest, I won't get more specific than that. Parts of that National Forest can be crowded, but it is huge and if you put in the effort (as he certainly appears to have done), it is not difficult to find yourself in an area without any other people. It is managed/patrolled by forest rangers (not police), though they are few in number in proportion to the area they are covering. Hunting there is carefully regulated to maintain game populations, requiring permits and with limited allowed seasons. It is a national forest, so that means the land is owned by the federal government and managed for a variety of uses both recreational (hunting, hiking, fishing, climbing, etc.) and commercial (logging, mining, etc.). Sizable portions of the Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest have been designated wilderness areas, which protects the areas from commercial exploitation and prohibits the use of motor vehicles (though hunting is still allowed), and so is only accessible on foot or on horseback.
Shane, my heart breaks for you, my wife and I aren't able to have children, and have lost several. I know we are in roughly the same area, I in fact pastor in Anacortes. Seriously if you want I am more than happy to talk, or what not.
Nice video, but it's pretty sad when the creator of it, just posts it and then disappears, never to return to answer any of the questions or to thank his viewers/well wishers.. I just don't get it.
I'm an atheist, but the religious connection is clearly so deeply meaningful to this film's creator that I found it moving in its honest sincerity, particularly given the tragic circumstances.

Hello, I am new to blacktail hunting the alpines and was wondering if I could ask you a few questions.
Shane hasn't been replying but I'm an experienced high buck hunter in western Washington and love talking hunting....so shoot.
