Good review Tony. I like the short format, it didn’t feel rushed but still feels like you gave us a good overview of the gloves. Also appreciate that you used them for a long time before giving us your thoughts.
Thanks Tony for your humble review on these gloves. For the warmth and weather protection and versatility they are on the expensive side. However, when you include all the safety features and well positioned and designed sliders then I believe it all adds up to a good investment. Being able to keep your hands warm and still have a higher than expected contact and control, plus the added safety will at least have me try these on especially considering they also improve over time. Great video.
I am a big fan of Rukka gear, still having two old Rukka jackets which I still use. Top quality. No need for winter gloves in either Thailand or Portugal. Unique idea with the two chambers. I was waiting for the price. I like the hoodie. I'd like a Yamaha one. Nick
Good review Tony and a good idea to have a thinner area against the grip to get the benefit of the heated grips. I knew being Rukka they’d be pricey but that’s an eye watering number.
If people are on a tighter budget, I bought a pair of Richa gloves a couple of years ago (hopefully they still do them) which are almost identical. Think they call it the Richa Dual Fit System. Can’t quite remember what they cost but nowhere near 380 quid
Yep they are spendy! I am lucky to have a couple of pairs of Rukka gloves (Virium and Worsley) and I have to say they are both excellent in the same way these ones are - awesome leather on the worsley (the virium is textile) well built proper premium feel and do exactly what they promise to do. My go to gloves in fact, apart from my Gerbings when its just baltic. I don't have a use case for these, nor the spare coin, so I wont add these to the collection anytime soon, but thanks for the review.
Thank you for the review Tony. One important question, for any winter gloves especially, and THE most essential feature for me in future winter glove purchases: Can you pull your clammy/wet fingers out of the glove WITHOUT the inner lining also coming out?? Thus, is the R-Start gloves' inner lining properly stitched to STAY PUT once you pull them off? That is my absolute PET PISSOF PEEVE in previous Rukka Gore-Tex gloves. (their CERES range, for one.) Keep up your very good channel/product reviews. Found your PRO SW-Motech tank bag comparison quite informative in getting the right one for my bike. Thanks ! Regards from Cape Town
Another great video Tony and as you said great gloves but Ouch as far as the price is concerned. Don’t think I could justify the spend but hey ho. Look forward to the next short sharp product review. 👍
Great review, they do look a really clever system but the price is quite high, I will stick with my oven gloves for now, although the wife does get angry when cooking the Sunday roast.
Wow. I was absorbing all the info until you told me the price.. As you say, heated gloves are similarly priced, and they too can be used on different bikes, unlike heated grips which although cheaper, cannot. By way of comparison, a set of R and G grips and Barkbusters can be bought together for less. Lovely kit, but sorry, I couldn't afford that on a pair of gloves. Nice review though. Ride safe 👍
Are they twice as good as the richa arctic gore-tex gloves which are £140 probably not but when you’ve got the textiles I suppose you have to matchy matchy Also touched on it with you before Made in china but the saving the likes of rukka and klim make for getting their stuff made in sweat shops isn’t passed on But good review I always watch them
Nice review. I'm torn between these and the Richa Cold protect gloves to replace a pair of nearly 20yr old Frank Thomas Winter Gloves. Have you tried those? Nothing beats the 3 finger gloves when it gets really cold though in my experience....
I've not tried the Richa ones, so can't offer a comparison. I agree though thre fingers gloves are great, I've tried these on halvarssonsmc.com/product/duved/ and they are super comfy.
My only complaint is, from the video footage in the video, you're using them on a bike with handguards. One would think this could skew you're opinion of the gloves.
Thats not the only bike i rode in them, thats just footage that I had to hand. The opinion was offered after riding multiple bikes over many many miles.
Nice one Tony. Do they keep your finger tips and thumbs warm in 5c and below on a bike without heated grips? I’d be surprised if any glove can do that for a sustained period.
To be fair they are not bad, but yes the its first place you feel the cold creeping in . I was managable though, but thats definitely where heated gloves offer an advantage
@mancavemoto Yes, in the UK. I was bought a Nivala 2 jacket by a family member last year as a gift. This year, the jacket has started to leak in both sleeves. Unfortunately, the family member who purchased it, has passed away, and i have no receipt and no idea where it was purchased from. I contacted the distributor and explained the circumstances, but as I can't supply any details, they've pretty much told me to p!ss off. The garment is warranted for 5 years, so surely that's enough, given the fact the jacket hasn't been out that long? What's your opinion??

Cheers, i always make sure I used anything I review long enough to get to understand the product.

Cheers Nick, the hooody is one of Hondas range of casual pieces. I'm sure you'll be able to track dowan a suitably retro yamaha one

Thanks, yes a clever solution. I would have expected £200, so I was equally surprised when I saw the price!

Sorry, £280

Thanks, yep a hard price to swallow, regardless of how they perform really. But great quality

Good question! and so far these have not had that problem.
@@mancavemoto That's very good to hear. Thank you.

Very helpful review, any chance of having a look at the new Moto 2 from Beeline?
I will do when I can get hold of one

Nice review though.
Ride safe 👍
Fully agree.
Me too, lovely kit but I couldn’t justify the spend
Great review as always, lost me at 280!!!!!!!!
You and me both!

I like this style of review 👍🏻 can I ask what is the jacket you are wearing in the on bike clips in this video please?
Cheers, sure it’s the Rukka Nivala 2, which I’ve reviewed in the past
Where did you get that hoodie? It’s great!
Yon can buy them from Honda Dealers, or online

@@mancavemoto mm thanks. a trip to Hideout might be needed 👍
Yep the girls will look after you...
WOW 😮
Thanks Tony, what safety standard are these gloves rated at? At this price I’d expect Level 2 protection not level 1.
They ar KP1, probably because the only real piece of hard armour is the knuckle protector?
How do they compare to keis heated gloves?
I’m warmth do you mean? Or in fit?
Would love a pair but I'd rather have chilled paws than pay that price!

How Much??? Not for me, nearly £300 on a pair of gloves.

Ouch !
Indeed
Ouch
Exactly
ridiculous price,cant be justified.
I wear full Rukka kit including gloves, if you want the best then you have to pay, so justified in my experience.
@@chris6559id pay it if it was made in Finland not in a Chinese sweat shop
Nice review as always. But ill never buy a Rukka product again. Appalling customer service.
In the UK? I'm surprided knowing who the distributor is

Hmm interesting, I'm surprised at the distributors reaction to be honest. Might be worth pursuing with Tranam again?
