It is amazing how seasoned this band comes across this early in their career. The song is powerful--McElhone and Spiteri wrote a gem. Her performance is mature beyond her years here. Hell-the whole band is on fire. As for fnoobie's comments below-- I think the band has made most of the decisions on their own. They select producers. They evolved. The great shame is the US where I believe timing worked against them. Late 80's was MTV driven and synth pop, hair metal were still "king." Early Texas was perfect for the country rock pop crossover that happened a few years later--in short Texas was a great band at the wrong moment in time! (for the US that is).
@@maskandmirror9825 They were dropped by their US label. Red Book was not released here. Let’s not forget they were not selling in the UK either. They went “POP” with “White on Blonde” and with some luck struck gold. I am not sure I like where they are now. Red Book is pure POP. Some great songs. They had a driving harder edge compared to later efforts. Sharleen is an incredibly talented singer who can excel at most any genre of music.
Circa 2018 Sept 11th Sharleen Spiteri ties the knot with a Celeb Cook Bryn Williams from Wales 10 years younger than her. a bit of Marion Joan Williams from Hoylake weds Prof. Richard Walker Hong Kong Univercity ... bless em both.
Does anyone know if this was taped on Saturday Night Live? Because I think SNL is where where I "met" Texas for the first time but I can't remember. All I know for sure is that I now own about 7 of their albums.

I think you're right. This is one of the most underappreciated bands ever

This is an appearance of the band on a Spanish TV Show.
I have to say that I can't stand Texas but the Mothers Heaven and Ricks Road albums are brilliant. This is a great track.
+Mike D Two good albums from a band you can't stand? Are you sure you don't like them? ;)
