Yeah, this store is pretty cool. I didn’t actually buy anything there. The USD to CAD exchange is pretty bad right now and with TFCon Canada just around the corner I thought I’d wait.
@@TransformersAndVideoGames save for a better catch. The video is totally awesome and the place is fantastic. We have a few here in the valley. Its crazy that I can't film. Im with you on that rule. But it worth it when you can. Great work friend see you on your next upload☺👍
It’s nice when they let you take pics or videos of the store. I’ve been in some local shops who don’t allow camera footage at all. The only thing I can think of is maybe it’s a security thing whereas the shop owner doesn’t want someone to scope out the layout of the store and come back later to steal from them. Looks like a very nice store, but prices are way out of whack. I’m sure the regular stocked gundam is what keeps a store like that alive. BTW that Voltron was Soul of Chogokin. It’s retail price is 300$, and sold out everywhere. It was selling aftermarket for 800$. Just recently they reissued it for 299$ and that pre order sold out in a couple days. It’s the best Volton on the market people say. Thanks for sharing M. 👍
Hi Lotus. You’re probably right about the camera and video footage being a security concern for some places. I should have recognized that Soul of Chogokin Voltron. I bought the first production run of it a few years ago but never opened it up because I wasn’t sure where to display it. It’s cool that they reissued it for all the people who missed out on the first run. Are you a fan of Voltron? I thought the Walmart G1 Optimus Prime reissue was expensive but didn’t notice the other prices to be honest or since I don’t know what the other stuff goes for it wouldn’t have mean anything to me if I had. I suppose they have Manhattan rent to pay which can’t be cheap. Thanks for commenting. Cheers M
Transformers and Video Games Wow not sure if you showed the SOC Voltron or not, but with the reissue upcoming I’d make a video for it. Yeah the version 1 skyrocketed on the aftermarket selling between 500-700$ BBTS put up the pre order for the reissue early this month and it sold out super fast. It really looks like the ultimate Voltron figure. I never got it because I had a sealed Panosh Voltron gift set and was happy just having that in my collection. As for prices I was just guessing when you said the price for Optimus that they are out to lunch on the prices, but I’m sure people in that high end part of New York pay it.
It’s pretty amazing how much that Voltron set jumped up in value. Reissues usually kill the value of the original versions of collectibles. For example, you were lucky to sell your MP King Grimlock before the reissue was announced and dropped. I bought the reissue Grimlock. $299 sounds okay for the reissue Voltron though. Perhaps I will review mine at some point before the reissue ships out. Cheers M
I agree with with you about Ash Williams. I think that’s a Mezco One:12 Collective figure, right? It looks to be in the same scale as Jason Voorhees right next to him. Thanks for watching and commenting. I really appreciate it. Cheers M
@@TransformersAndVideoGames Actually, as you mention the size, I did mean to add that that could be the caveat to grabbing Ash--I feel I'd definitely need an idea in mind of where he was going first to decide if I was okay by the size. Regardless, him (and Jason) look amazing!

I loved seeing all the different lines and of course the Transformer's!! All the best to you my friend. Also I appreciate your wife's patients whilst you filmed.
I agree with you. Why turn away the free advertising. There are so many cool toys and collectibles at Image Anime. Many of them I’m not knowledgeable about but I know they all have their fan base so I though it was important to include them in the video. I had a lot more footage that I didn’t include or the video would have been too long. My wife doesn’t collect herself but she’s very supportive of me, my interests and even my channel. She patiently waited as I took footage of just about the entire store. She actual did some research a number of years ago when we went to NYC together for the first time and found this store along with a few other ones for us to check out while we were there. She’s pretty awesome and honestly one in a million...so I think I’ll keep her. Cheers M

What a great video and tour of an amazing store. I love the range of lines they have, although Transformers will always be my personal favourites, it's nice to take some time to appreciate the Mezco figures and Funko Pops along DC and Marvel. It seems like the kind of store you could easily spend hours walking around. I think I would go down so many rabbit holes on a store like this (especially the GunDams). Star wars figures look great, I think that's the Black line, I recognise the General Greavis. Looking forward to see your reviews. Cheers Greg
Hi Greg. Yeah, the store is pretty amazing. It was close to our hotel so I went once to browse and another time to record my video footage. There were so many cool collectibles there. You’re right. You could easily spend hours there. Thanks for the info regarding the Stars Wars figures. They looked awesome and as far as I‘m aware they aren’t very expensive. Have a great weekend. Cheers M
Thanks Joel. When the Walmart G1 reissue Optimus Prime was released here in Canada is was $80 CAD. I thought $80 USD was too much. That works out to approximately $108 CAD. I need to watch a few MP Beastwars Megatron reviews and decide if I want to buy it since I have MP Optimus Primal. Thanks for checking out the toy hunt and for commenting. I shot this a few weeks ago but the editing took a lot of time since I had over 25 minutes of footage. I’m guessing you had the same challenges with your recent Las Vegas toy hunt videos...which were awesome. Cheers M

We've got about 4-5 still shelf warming here,in which I'm gonna go ahead & pull the trigger on one within the next two weeks. Also have a question in regards to Star Wars... Although you don't collect anything from the franchise,do you check out all of the movies when they're released? Thanks for sharing this experience! Hopefully me & my girlfriend can get out to NY soon. She visited a toy store during her first trip there last year. But,not sure which shop it was. But ok,Bro. As always, cheers & take care!
Hey Bigg Stan. I think the Optimus Prime is probably a little higher in price because it’s a midtown Manhattan store with higher rent then other places. Let me know if you and your girlfriend end up going to Manhattan. There are a few other stores that I can suggest checking out as well if you have time. Thanks for your Star Wars question. I do enjoy the movies but my wife isn’t the biggest fan of them so I don’t have too many opportunities to watch them in the theatre. I do enjoy watching them though. I’m a little behind with some of the newer movies but would like to sit down and check them out on bluray at some point. Cheers M

Nice video tho M always kicking ass as usual. I actually just broke into my Beast Wars Megatron so i can do a nice review on it. Your channel has always been great but I think that review helped put you in the map...so to speak. Do you mean that you’re trying to make a living with your channel and that you should focus more on reviewing certain toys over others? Yeah, the G1 Optimus Prime was pretty price. Some really interesting pieces in there.. Way overpriced in my opinion though.. But super exciting to see all those Macross figures. I think the sales assistant has a thing for 'Gerwalk' as everyone seemed to be in that mode. lol. The Voltron you asked about is the Bandai Shokugan Super Mini Pla. It's a model kit. Hey Rudy. Yeah, seeing all those Macross Valkyrie figures there almost makes me want to start collecting them but I’m not sure how much that has to do with me thinking that G1 Jetfire is a beautiful figure. That’s funny. I never noticed that they were all in Gerwalk mode. I’ll have to go back and check it out. Thanks for the info regarding Voltron. For some reason, I thought you might now the answer...LOL. You seem to know quite a bit about a variety of toy lines. Cheers M
That sound cool. I should make space to display my pre-transformers G1 Jetfire. It’s the same figure but has yellow and black paint details instead of red and black, if I’m not mistaken. Mine is the version that doesn’t have the battle armour...but it’s still very cool.
Thanks for letting me know. If J&J games is near Bryant Park hotel then I think it was just around the corner from us but we just ran out of time. If it’s the place that I’m thinking of, then it looks awesome but how are the prices? Cheers M
Yes it is. However Book Off is a couple blocks north. Good spot to search for manga. games and books preowned. A masterpiece styled transformer is rare there. Its worth a look
It truly was a geek heaven. You’re quite right. They don’t tend to carry vintage G1 and the only G1 reissues where the Walmart Optimus Prime and that Apple iPod white Optimus Prime (or Ultra Magnus) docking station. It would be awesome of they carried more of it though. Thanks for commenting and for your support. Cheers M
Hi Tim. Thanks for watching and for commenting on my video. That news really makes me sad. Are you a Transformers collector?
It was my understanding that they closed due to covid.....as was told to me by the mgr of the store. And? They were only doing online orders, which I've purchased an anime from their online store earlier in 2020......😐
Well, either way I’m glad to hear that they have an on-line presence and that Image Anime continues to operate even if they no longer have a physical retail location. Thanks for checking out the video and for commenting.

Back to game hunting tomorrow morning. Of course they’re now calling for rain in my area which makes me sad. Cheers M

Couple more corrections 6:46 those are Not figurarts those are Figurarts ZERO big difference. One is posability and one is static. ;) The Shfiguarts that you showed were Denegki type.
You are very knowledgeable about toys and collectibles, my friend. I had a feeling that you would know what all this stuff is. I remember your Voltron review. It really was awesome. Your channel has always been great but I think that review helped put you in the map...so to speak. Do you mean that you’re trying to make a living with your channel and that you should focus more on reviewing certain toys over others? Yeah, the G1 Optimus Prime was pretty price. Is was $80 CAD when it dropped here. $80 USD works out to over $100 CAD. Thanks for your kind words about my video. I feel like my channel has been getting some decent momentum recently. I’m glad to hear you’re able to workout a little bit with your bad shoulder. It sounds like your condition is improving. Did you see my awesome vintage GI Joe garage sale pickup from last weekend? Cheers M
@@TransformersAndVideoGames No but ill check it out i love GIJOE im excited for next year wnen the GIJOE does their 6" Black Series/Legends Series. As long as they are the classics im not interested in movies ones as much. Yeah your channels my go to channel kt seems. I like my buddy Tman too.
Nice work M. Once again, nothing like that here in Perth.
Thanks Audie. I always love going to Image Anime when I go to New York. It’s a little pricy for Canadians due to the foreign exchange rate but there are so many cool things to see there. I also appreciate how cool they are about visitors taking pictures and video footage. Cheers M
Great watch M, thanks for sharing.
Cheers M
Transformers and Video Games part of me is very tempted to get a Valkyrie.. I’ll add it to the ever increasing list of toys I want.. lol
That sound cool. I should make space to display my pre-transformers G1 Jetfire. It’s the same figure but has yellow and black paint details instead of red and black, if I’m not mistaken. Mine is the version that doesn’t have the battle armour...but it’s still very cool.
Transformers and Video Games the VF-1S Valkyrie.. that’s actually my favourite. Love the colours..
Its a nice spot. Next time you are in midtown. Check out J&L games. Both are go to spots. If you're trying to fill in your collection
Thanks for letting me know. If J&J games is near Bryant Park hotel then I think it was just around the corner from us but we just ran out of time. If it’s the place that I’m thinking of, then it looks awesome but how are the prices? Cheers M
Depends on rarity.I would say priced for collectors.
Yes it is. However Book Off is a couple blocks north. Good spot to search for manga. games and books preowned. A masterpiece styled transformer is rare there. Its worth a look
Oh okay. It looks like a great place to fill in gaps in the collection. They appear to have no shortage of stock. Thanks again for the tip.
Thanks again. I’ll make a note of that place as well.
Great video as always, this store looks like a geeky heaven (sadly not many G1 Figures :'(
It truly was a geek heaven. Cheers M
R.i.p Image Anime
They shut down their physical store because looters robbed it and torched it
Hi Tim. Thanks for watching and for commenting on my video. That news really makes me sad. I’m a long time collector from Canada and Image Anime was one of my favourite hobby stores to check out when my wife and I visited New York. Do you mind if I ask how you found my video? Are you a Transformers collector?
It was my understanding that they closed due to covid.....as was told to me by the mgr of the store. And? They were only doing online orders, which I've purchased an anime from their online store earlier in 2020......😐
Well, either way I’m glad to hear that they have an on-line presence and that Image Anime continues to operate even if they no longer have a physical retail location. Thanks for checking out the video and for commenting.
@@TransformersAndVideoGames 👍
I searched it now and it seems they’re back!
Kamen rider figures and other figures too
Yeah, they have lots of cool stuff at this place. Thanks for checking out the video.
Great video good footage excellent play by play. I enjoyed this video alot. They didn't have wwe figures ?
Honestly... I don’t think they had any WWE figures unless I walked right by them. I don’t collect them but I enjoy seeing them, if that makes any sense. Thanks for your kind words about my video. Back to game hunting tomorrow morning. Of course they’re now calling for rain in my area which makes me sad. Cheers M
@@TransformersAndVideoGames o mam suck when it rains try to find a place that says rain or shine yard sale
Yeah...and if they have games out they get damaged from all the humidity and from the rain itself. The paper inserts get all wrinkled and nasty looking. Look luck on your hunt, brother. Cheers M
@@TransformersAndVideoGames I went last Sunday as well and found some good titles. So will be a longer video then normal just a heads up warning lol
I can hardly wait.
Too bad it’s closed for good I wanted to go there for a second time
Yeah, it was a great store. I used to go to it every time I visited NYC.
So they moved stuff around since the last I worked there but the whole left side used to be just anime dvds
My wife and I used to really enjoy going there when we visited NYC. Sadly, I believe they’ve closed their brick and mortar location. At least you can still order from them on-line.
@@TransformersAndVideoGames If I was still there I'd pitch the idea of Patreon and people who supported it would get random items from the store monthly
That would have been a great idea. How long did you work there?
@@TransformersAndVideoGames A year
Very cool. I would have loved to have worked at a place like that.
I just ordered from their online store. They had a pretty rare action figure that is sold out everywhere else so I had to get it.
Hi Miguel. Which action figure was it that you ordered from their online store?
@@TransformersAndVideoGames it's a Bandai shinkocchou seihou version of Dark Kiba from the Japanese Garo show.
Very nice. I hope you got a good deal on it.
Did you receive it? How did it come? Any damages to the box? I ordered online too and I’m a little worried
Hi Ashley. Are you concerned that they won’t package it carefully for shipping?
Damn, they have sideswipe…
Yeah, they had some cool Transformers and a huge variety of other collectibles. Thanks for checking out the video and for commenting.
Do they sell saint Seiya myth cloth’s ???
Hi Omar. Unfortunately, I don’t remember seeing any. Thanks for watching and commenting on the video.
7:47 Super Sentai and Kamen Rider
Nice. Have you ever been to this store?
@@TransformersAndVideoGames Not yet
I think they may have actually closed since I recorded this video and only have an online presence now so be sure to double-check if you were ever planning on checking them out.
@@TransformersAndVideoGames oh
Is this still open?
Unfortunately, I don’t think so but you can order from them online.
@@TransformersAndVideoGames Ahhh thank you so much!
My pleasure. Thanks for watching the video and for commenting.
