I like how the 2 guys at the beginning are just false protagonists.

i would classify them as supporting roles to the television, which i would say is the framing device. almost a pun.

It's quite helpful if there's long-ass pole outside. Makes em much more obvious if the earthquake did stopped or it just lessen
a wave of buildings suddenly ceasing to shake, cascading across the land
I love how the earthquake barely matters by the end of the sketch but is absolutely integral to the punchline

It's brilliant. Tells you without using words that alright, this earthquake has gone on long enough that they're starting to have to try to have normal lives again.

I like that even though it's fake, I legitimately feel a sense of relief when the earthquake stops.
I think that's the theme of the sketch, relief after dealing with a chronic annoyance.
The earthquake made everyone really cranky and on edge, and when it stopped, everyone basically laughed off the whole indecency trial.
I live in an area with hurricanes and I feel like this when the power goes out for hours or days and suddenly comes back on. It’s the best.
I've been in a lot of earthquakes and that's universal

He’s quoting a line he liked. Imagine being on the internet so much you feel the need to attack someone who is just quoting something from the video you watched. Grow up.
I love how the entire Jim Laidoff storyline happened because the team got bored with the Earthquake sketch.
Fan theory: The sofa moves during the earthquake and it is facing the opposite direction as the TV. Because the earthquake has been going on for so long, it can be assumed that the sofa has been spun around in the two day process. It hasn't been fixed yet because the quake is still going on and it would spin again.
Genius! It always bothered me that the TV was behind the couch, but your logic is flawless!
Its those little things you notice after watching a wkuk sketch for the 1,000,000,000th time that makes ya laugh for no reason, like the fact the tv they watch the news on is behind the couch and table lol
My favorite detail is that the lipstick of the news lady is smeared all over the place cause it was shaking when she was putting it on.

Principle Rolls really nailed that juror scene. Hell, he might be the best actor to ever appear on WKUK, after the "Oh Hell Noooo" lady of course.

That was a subtle joke-the defendant says he swore because the light hit him in the head. Then the juror says "fudgey stuff" instead of swearing when the light hits him in the head. Then the defendant's lawyers mutter "well, this isn't looking good."

I'm so glad you guys are back in a way. I've always loved sketch comedy, especially growing up with Monty Python and later you fine gentlemen. I'd love to start or join one myself but I have no idea how to go about it.
Sounds like you need to make some friends at an improv class or something.
The D&D series is actually probably a better sketch troupe starter tutorial than it is a fantasy role playing session. Just do what Trevor suggests you do in that, and you'll be on your way to sketch troupe gold faster than WKUK arbitrarily heel turns on an OwlBear.
I'm super happy these are coming out in HD. WKUK got me through some REALLY rough times back in the day.

@@rorschachsjournal2084 well they definitely arent making money off it but the views arent that low it ends up getting just around their subscriber count usually which is like 50,000 people. I wonder how many viewers they had for each episode of the tv show? I tried to find out and couldnt

Wow the budget on this was James Cameron esc. Multiple custom sets and an entire backlot was built on shake tables just to sell the effect.

I just noticed a lot of the newspaper text is someone just mashing the same row of keys to fill it out. It really adds to the charm.
Also, apparently this all happened on Monday, November 15th, 1983.
