Absolutely loved this scene purely because Michael Caine was raised in Eastend, giving him no high class standard or posh accent and here played a very fortunate fellow who shot tigers for a living and knew his car inside and out. Loved it! Only he could pull of this kind of role

The scene was entirely improvised - improvisation is a very good method, especially when exploited at its full potential.
It really does add to it.

This DB4 was a write off. That's why they use certain camera angles because of the repairs.
Also we never see it drive away, not least because MC didn't have his driving license -- he's nearly 40 here and all.
