- Nakamichi Nam5210-AX I bought this from brothers Malaysia for my Honda city and by far this is one of the top android head unit 2020 in Malaysia. This video will cover a short android demonstration and detailed review compared to my no brand china. My biggest advice would be don't just buy and research other android head units and what is suitable for your car and location. Android head unit Malaysia has many options but I personally liked the service I got from Brothers a popular store here.

Can we customize the home screen apps buttons ?
Unfortunately i could not find that option, but if you swipe the home screen from right to left you will get to the apps drawer. you can also try a third party launcher like car launchr from playstore. You can find plenty of good videos on youtube for custom launcher for android head unit. Thanks!

Yes it is, check if you have mapped it properly
@@trulyhonestchannel9943 unfortunately, am using soundstream, and its not functioning at all, nor there is a port to plug in the answer/hanging button, kinda sad, thus am looking for others brand that is workable, luckily i find your video, thank you it helpful.
I suggest next time to do an in depth video for the head unit and all among the products that you're going to review in the future.

Hey, I loved your video! I just got my Unit. I hope you can help me with an issue I have, when I put the car in reverse the rear camera turns on like it should to, and when I then put the gear in Drive, a "front camera" screen is trying to pop up showing a logo of camera with an X on it because I dont even have a front camera, and after 3 seconds the normal menu comes on. How do I disable the "front camera" from showing up when I switch from reverse to Drive? its an annoying small issue I can seem to work out. Thank you!

already using this android but, on RDS, AF not functioning as normally on other device fm radio with RDS. hope manufacturers of nakamichi fix this function.
Can you connect Bluetooth obd2 dongle with it? The radio do not have option for changing Bluetooth pin. I have Nam5730 9IN installed. It pairs to obd2,but fails to connect ..

Appreciate the review very much in depth. Would love to see the specs in detail and performance stress tests to ensure that the product does last. Also another tip, if you plan to format the player in prior to it being slow. Please make sure you have a copy of the proprietary apps because once gone, it's impossible to find it haha. Something you should know about brothers Malaysia, as a technical person myself and also having a couple of messed up experiences there + similar reviews from other car communities.
The products they sell there are good and can be trusted however, the workmanship lacks quality and usually not done well. Brothers had been very competent on messing up installations due to the foreign workers there who lack knowledge on installing car audio products. So I'd advice to buy your product and get it installed in an accessory shop where they know what they're doing.
Hi there. FM Radio signals fade out from tine to time on some channels in Sri Lanka.
On the Lenovo D1 there is way to increase the sensitivity of FM radio signals.

I bought a chinese android headunit that died after a month. Got this as a replacement. How did you deal with the steering wheel controls, did you have canbus adapter already? Mine don't work. I am trying to use them chinese canbus from my old china one

I have purchased NAM 5730 4/64 MODEL in 9 inches yesterday.Everything seems good as of now except the stereo won't pair to my obd Bluetooth which I needed the most. I tried everything but no way it will work.This is a common problem in all Chinese brands.
They don't connect to Bluetooth OBD2 interfaces the way phones do.
These android headunits are designed to work like Bluetooth headphones. They can only be decoders of what master Bluetooth transmitters do.
OBD and car headunits are designed to work like slaves, that is why they don't pair.
how long does it take the player to boot up with and without quick boot?
Its almost instantanious. The moment you start the engine, it only takes about 1 second or less. Moreover, it only takes about 30 /40 seconds even to fully boot up if you restart.

Hi I guess it's the same navigation as my model try Car settings -> gear logo on the bottom right corner-> enter the passcode (all 0)->then scroll down there is an option called car logo from where you can set the logo

No I fixed additional camera as my car was not suff spec, you need to check with the dealer

Hi.. how do you enable the voice command?
1 Download Google Now from playstore
2 Goto car setting with secret code all Zeros, (check my video). Scroll down the settings till you find voice search option.
3 Tapon it and select Google voice search (if it doesnt apprear restrat the device and try again)
4 Once you set it to Google voice search, restart the device
5 You will see a blue voice search button at the upper right corner of the device
6 Follow my steps in the video to map a steering wheel button to trigger the search. There is a dedicated voice search map function.
The voice search not very reliabe but works most of the time. Hope it helps
i just bought this model, my problem is that when i open the engine suddenly the radio or music sounds goes so loud. i have tried setting with slow boot, but the same problem i faced many times when turn on the engine.even though i always keep turned off the volume when i turned off the engine. is there anyone who can help me with this problem
I think there's an option for boot volume, I have it on my nam1610, maybe you've got an option for that too?

This model doesnt have Mobile sim card support, but have wifi and bluetooth. There is 2 ways to coonect to internet:
1 Use your mobile as a hotspot, then from your headunit you can hit wifi option , select the network then connect
2 Use the USB hotspot teather option in your android phone after connecting your phone to the headunit via USB.

Hi, there is a good DSP equalizer app and some Bass tweaks so you can adjust the sound. I guess thats what you were referring to.

Can you check the car settings and advaced setting using all0 code. I can't exactly remember but there should be a setting realated to voice search toggle, set it to off. It should disable the search function.
is it the sound more better than the stock?
Well it depends on how you find it but i can tell for me it sounds very decent. Enough bass too. You can tweak the equalizer to your preference too!

You are absolutely right, i had a no brand chinese headunit earlier, the radio reception is so bad and on top of that the channels keep changing frequently. It was annoying since its the main basic function of a car headunit. Thats why I changed to this one and i can tell you its a pretty decent unit.
I installed this on my car, and when i connect my phone via bluetooth it can receive internet, but when i try play music it stops , it can't play music via bluetooth, any suggestions ?
Try connecting without bluetooth, the app audio is routed via the usb cable. See if it works.
This is where I'm confused. Does it have android auto? How can it get Internet or GPS (for wase) when connected?
Imagine plugging your laptop to an external monitor or tv, you get the sound and video on tv while all the procession is done inside your laptop. Same goes here, its like using your phone with an external display(car head unit with touch input).

Hello! Don't think there is a software tweak to increase the sensitivity. Please check the bananaplug connector/antenna wire. I had a issue with it cased poor reception. Meddling with the wire somehow fixed it. Goodluck!

My worry is that can virus affect this player since it is an android system radio.
Its possible, but the chances are very remote. The most likely way is through a third party apps installed outside google playstore. So only install apps from playstore and be careful when acessing suspicious websites. Hope this helps.
How's the sound quality ? Compared to pioneer and kenwood players ?
I honestly havent used those brands before, but with my stock speakers which came with honda city delivers decent sound with considerable Bass. This unit come with dsp equalizer and some extras to tweak Bass. Max Power 4×50w. Hope it helps.
So the MOST important part of a vehicle headunit is the sound quality, you did not say anything about that?? You did not say anything about the sound settings, EQ, time alignment , crossover etc... The whole point in changing your radio is for better sound quality and not so you can watch RUclips and Netflix while you driving.

How is the sound output performance? Do you use amp or stock?
I use the stock player itself. You can use the DSP eq. The sound is quite decent.
Can it really play .flac music or .aac?
I'm baffled, i own a high quality audio cassette deck from Nakamichi. I know them as a reliable Japanese HiFi manufacturer, and suddenly they sell a Android head units? What for CPU do they use, what kind of dac and DSP do they use? The 4V audio pre output and 3 v for the sub, is a big plus. And how do we know this ain't a Chinese rip off instead of a Japanese build quality product.

Nakamichi was sold to china almost 2 decades ago and they are a total china company much like boss , blaupunkt, dual. And they make the same china crap while the only thing the hold from their original brand is just the name and nothing else. Nakamichi means nothing now. Only pre 2000s were the real nakamichi.

Sound quality
The problem with this set is that it has no option to change pin in set. Most obd adapters has 1234 as default pin whereas its 0000 in set. I am using nam 5730 and it has the same problems.

Well you can use a custom launcher to make that possible. Dont think the default launcher allows to change wallpaper ill doublecheck and get back to you.

Is it heating at the back?
Usually there will be some heat depending on the processor load. But I haven't noticed any significant heating problems since I only use the radio and android auto.
How much time map loads ? And overall performance
It loads fast enough and the unit performance is quite good. It's more than 1 year+ still doing great!

Well it took about 1 mons just to get the maps loaded, after that was ok. I only use android auto since its very very fast and convenient, just set my destination in waze or maps and connect my phone thats it with android auto. Please chcekout my video on android auoto if you are interested.. one main thing is that internet connection seems slower when using phone wifi tether but works flowless woth usb tether. Hope rhis helps

my experience on using android player which cost rm1,000
- audio quality not great even with the 48band & build in dsp ( stock will be better ) fyi I know how to tune eq
- slow wifi connection ( using the same wifi my smartphone download app in few second , this headhunt took 5 or 10 min )
- no wireless android auto /wirelss apple CarPlay basically u still need to use your phone for navigation ( due to limited wifi speed the device can handle )
- radio connection not stable and not clear compared to stock
headunit is for let you drive more focus and enjoy your driving , and this does none

Dissappointed buy this android player, even already has DSP like no DSP, bass to slow. Not mush setting inside DSP.
I'm sorry to hear that. Did you try the Bass option under the car icon? Adjust the balance as well focusing on each corner and see if there is a difference in bass for each speaker front/back speakers. Bass is fine with mine i only set the Bass to 1 with surround on. Not sure whether its a device fault, please check with the vendor since it should be covered under warrenty
