Learning2Smile In my opinion, Elon Musk is an overrated, self entitled businessman. Everybody gives him too much credibility and he uses that as leverage to popularize his own opinions. I am not a fan of him.
The inside Koenigsegg series is amazing, I personally think its the best series on Drive. The fact it doesn't shy from details, or from the thoughts of Christian Von Koenigsegg even when it's not directly related to the car that bears his name (eg freevalve and the ghosts history) is truely amazing, I hope you keep it up for the foreseeable future.
Hamish McGregor you'd love the Netflix special they have. can't remember the name but it's all to do with super/hypercars and it follows the one:1 through to its Geneva reveal.
I love the whole Ethos of Koenigsegg. So much passion and hard work go into each chassis, It's incredible. From the engineering to the technological aspect, Koenigsegg has to be my absolute favorite car manufacturer.
Christian is a hell of a engineer and salesman, He cares about his product and his consumer, and he can make you feel like 1200hp mid engine ground rocket is totally practical!
I can watch Christian von koenigsegg speaking about his enthusiasm about his car for whole day, I love your videos, please post more videos about koenigsegg, I'm always eagerly waiting for the next video.
Another amazing look into the Regera! Having a single crash test vehicle is also probably good from a repair standpoint to learn and understand how to successfully get a car back on the road if an owner has a boo boo. Great work as usual /Drive!
Tyrone Ross I know who they are. i've been following the progress on their concept one for a while now. What I meant when I said "this generation's Ferrari" I meant that they're doing the most in innovation (in the realm of combustion engine powered cars). The sane way Ferrari did back in the day.
Dank Beast Rimac is the future of supercars. As high tech as these Supercars get now a days, They're starting to look like fossils compared to the electric cars that are out right now.
Let's see, Can't turn, can't really accelerate, it's ugly, doesn't sound good, isn't the fastest car in the world, has nothing in the interior to draw people in...I don't see any uses for it, point me out to some if you can or if I've missed some
I really love these videos. I will never own one but it's beautiful to see the cutting edge of what humanity is capable of when someone has such passion as this man. What an amazing human being this man is. Humble down to earth and loves to share with us. I know you'll never read this but Thank you Christian
TheLegend27 for about the first min or two he talked about crash testing.. then it was, "these are the electric motor coolers, this isnt the real exhaust, we redesigned the subframe, here is the battery pack..." i imagined at least 1 crash on film based off the title. Or the process on crash testing. it's a fantastic bit of information still, but was mostly off topic of the title for sure
Yeah, but I bet that 2x4 is hand crafted from a special wood especially developed and grown in the Himalayas. Its selected from trees that grow at a precise and secret distance above sea level which enables its unique grain pattern to grow in such a way that it ensures the perfect, correct and accurate hood supporting abilities required for even weight distribution.
The fk Elon knows about that, he's just a CEO, a manager and investor. He'd flood you with billboard slogans and you'll sit amazed, while hearing nothing new. Tesla is far from being a technological advance as a pure thing. It's just a hype in the time we live.
Man he seems like someone you could just sit and talk with for hours. Of course he probably doesn't have that kind of time to spare. But hopefully one day I will get a chance at meeting him. I just need one million subscribers haha. Thanks for posting this video 👍🏻
M3Conv Ferrari and Porsche couldn't make interesting videos like these as they're all production line built. Mclaren could come closer but have pushed closer to 'normal' production methods with the increased popularity and orders. Koneigsegg will follow suit eventually no doubt...

+Richard Lee new oil has a particular smell, when submitted to high temperatures and pressure the smell will change depending the additives and oil composition. The smell will change, if in the past there was a failure a good mechanic can use his nose.
I really like it how he says "we did" for everything, it really demonstrates how he see's Koenigsegg as a big team, if not family. I think this shows in their products.
the cool thing is in all videos i see from these guys, their workplace is so small, it looks like a startup company lol. like in that one about the carbon fiber wheels
Well they've only been around for 22 years and only produce about a dozen cars a year. While their cars are very high end and expensive, they're far from a large company. Ford has been around for 113 years and produces close to 6 MILLION vehicles every year. That's around a dozen cars every minute.
Seeing companies like Koenigsegg makes me wanna start my own car company. The best thing about having your own car company is that you can design your dream car and actually own it, and then sell it and make profit.
A true automotive enthusiast bringing his dreams to life ...... I just wish I could afford one of his rolling art pieces ............ Maybe one day Ill be able to see one in person ..............
I spotted an orange CCX here in Sydney, Australia, yesterday. They look unbelievable in real life. The owner had the roof stowed away. I guess it's nice to have the breeze but if (as was the case yesterday) you're stuck in slow traffic in summer here the sun can be brutal
It would be an absolute dream to work for Koenigsegg. The passion that Christian has over his creations is absolutely awesome. and the cars are just incredible.
i love how with all these multi million dollar cars that are designed from billions of dollars of research and development, they're still holding the hood up with a plank of wood
Reminds me of how Bentley checks the steering wheel's stitches for consistency, a super expensive specialized tool for the correct measurements - a fork
christian your innovation along the years and your vision about cars and cars industry is amazing. your attention to details is from other world. when a koeningsegg model for the people that most of we can afford??? it will be a dream for regular people and the true revolution for the industry!! i work on a big brand as parts specialist so i understand your vision and the way you look to parts and their function and the way they should be mount and work on a car. best regards my friend.
you've worked hard all your life, you can afford the best car in the world, you hire security so it doesn't get stolen. the government find your car hasn't past a safety test. they take it off you and crash it. how do you feel now? dipshit!
Christian seems like such a down to earth and honest guy. So glad hes having the success he has. I dont know what I find most amazing though... The cars or the shine on his head.
I think I'm a couple years older than Christian, and I always had the same dream- to create a supercar company in my homeland that was all me... I was told that I had to drive NHRA, SCCA, IMSA, to get a feel of the cars while I was attending school to be a mechanical engineer, then go Indy, CART, Formula 1, etc. I was very fortunate to be able to get a ride in several sports with awesome sponsors, but none of them were even a little bit interested in me making cars. That's where I must hand it to Christian. I'm proud of him!!! It goes to show we don't need multi-billion dollar companies to make every decision for us! Funny enough, had I not spent so much time trying to do everything people told me had to be done- and the cash associated with, I could probably buy a KOENIGSEGG... or TWO!!! (emoji kicking myself in the jimmy to be inserted here)
I have so much respect for Christian Von Koenigsegg. I have been following his story since the very beginning. In a world that is now full of Super and Hyper cars, it is very hard to find the edge. The term "Think outside the box" is so over used. But time and again he finds something no one has tried. Something no one had achieved. Pure vision is something Enzo had, something Ferruccio had. Unencumbered by a board of directors trying to find a "Global Platform" to sell cars on, Christian Von Koenigsegg, like Horacio Pagani is free to see the vision in his mind and see it to completion. There are very few in the auto industry able to do such a thing.
It never once specified that they would show you a crash test. It says right in the description: "Christian Von Koenigsegg explains how crash testing works for the multimillion-dollar Regera"
***** than it is an unnecessary video apart from the beautiful images behind the scenes and always lovely philosophy of mr Von Koenigsegg. Every car fanatic can figure out the refurbishment principle with that kind of expensive materials, instead of multiple crash test models...
man, he is god damn incredible. He knows every single detail, designed some, and even speaks english better than most americans. i am super glad his company is growing at such a rate. He deserves it. Cant wait to own my own, in like 30 years lol when they aren't all a million dollars haha
I dont know how he got in the beginning because he started the company when he was like 23 but he owns the patent to the Flex Fuel technology or the sensor so Im sure he makes good money from that.
1D0N all his money comes from Flex Fuel. Dude has been innovating the auto industry for decades. Koenigsegg builds literal spaceships that happen to have wheels
He's an inspiration to all auto engineers world wide. His passion is product, not profit. He's doing this because it's his dream. That's what seperates him from all the rest. I wish he would make affordable cars. Would be proud to own a Koenigsegg.
Love the the engineering ,and all the technical explanations. I use to love just the exterior of supercars, but the real beauty is in the details. Makes me wonder if the owners really understand what they are getting.
I heard somewhere that they have a dedicated cooling solution for the central batteries. Supposably keeping them at safe operating temps so they don't fatigue. I wouldn't be surprised... I can't wait for the "body" episode, this car is so beautiful.
3:19 the Regera has a heave spring and/or damper in the rear suspension... Connects the two rockers together so when the wheels go up or down together they actuate the spring and/or damper to get different spring/damping rates than when an individual tire moves by itself... Very cool... just noticed it.
It's refreshing to see a business owner have a complete understanding of his products. It's not often, the boss is this involved in the process.
Anthony Buscemi doesn't even look like he's selling it, just happy to show how it's gone
I can assure you that he even selected the forest that the hood stick came from. all birds were compensated
Hahahaha!
That's because he's more than just an owner
It's brilliant. I bet he knows very well that people recognize it as well.
I love Christian so much, he seems chill but very knowledgeable. Hope the best for Koenigsegg.
Christian? You mean Wilson Fisk!
agree a lot. :D
+Bierkameel So even though this guy in the video presented himself as Christian, his name is Wilson? Makes no sense.
Google Wilson Fisk
Oh now I got it, just that plain text on the internet doesn't really show when something is a joke or not.
The people have spoken. We love Christian and we don't want this series to stop.
Damn.. I can't like this comment more than one time!
Christian Von Koenigseggnigseggeggg is probably the one of the most passionate CEO out there
you miss an egg
After Elon Musk probably.
Ele-K-trick elon musk is not even near. He is just a good business man with great engineers
Learning2Smile In my opinion, Elon Musk is an overrated, self entitled businessman. Everybody gives him too much credibility and he uses that as leverage to popularize his own opinions. I am not a fan of him.
Slick Fifty Not a fan of him but at least his work, right?
The inside Koenigsegg series is amazing, I personally think its the best series on Drive. Do you mean Apex - The story of the hypercar? Fantastic.
They should just cover koenigsegg for ever
Holy crap you're SheepInACart, aren't you? twRage96 here, cool to find you in the comments section haha.
From beater cars to million dollar cars, the good ole' trusty stick will always prop your hood up ;)
When I had my shitty Impala, I think the stick was the tool that got the most use.
I think they borrowed it from the morgan factory
I use a oar...from a row boat. Because miata.
I just noticed that, that's fucking awesome.
Pickle312 If it ain't broke don't fix it, does the job
I love the whole Ethos of Koenigsegg. So much passion and hard work go into each chassis, It's incredible. From the engineering to the technological aspect, Koenigsegg has to be my absolute favorite car manufacturer.
Ryan Wreyford And notice that all the fancy, expensive stuff goes where it matters. Everything else is pragmatic and minimalistic.
Not your real favorite car manufacturer until you actually own and drive one yourself.
not true, butttttt ok.
You gotta love the 2x4 wood holding up a hood on a $2 million car.
its a $1 million 2x4
No doubt has a part number to order right from factory, if you ever wanted to work on your own Keonigsegg.
Robert Steich it's 1.9 mil
Robert Steich lol
Bet the wood costs 1 million
Christian is a hell of a engineer and salesman, He cares about his product and his consumer, and he can make you feel like 1200hp mid engine ground rocket is totally practical!
lol that ultra-low-tech front hood pole
Paco Inurreta dude its not even build yet man
Wood is really only thing hard enough to hold the weight, and soft enough not to scratch anything.
+Mister Mood Or helium balloons, right? But wood is just easiest to get, and gets the job done.
lol that ultra-low-quality youtube comment
Dominicandante1 Gaming I know, Im just pointing the obvious.
I guess it wasn't that obvious.
This video should be titled "What's new on the Regera compared to the Agera. And a tiny bit about crash testing."
TeKaMOTO was thinking the same thing. I don't really care though because Christian Von Koenigsegg is just such a fascinating guy to listen to
"Here a koenigsegg, we save money by holding the trunk open with a wooden plank"
I wonder if it's for humorous reasons
These big boys dont want no electric shocks hehhehe
Thats a carbon fiber wood
@@fightertimur2408 and that's make less weight and aerodynamic
I can watch Christian von koenigsegg speaking about his enthusiasm about his car for whole day, I love your videos, please post more videos about koenigsegg, I'm always eagerly waiting for the next video.
Another amazing look into the Regera! Having a single crash test vehicle is also probably good from a repair standpoint to learn and understand how to successfully get a car back on the road if an owner has a boo boo. Great work as usual /Drive!
Take a long look everyone. This man is this generation's Ferrari.
Nope, the guy that sells him that battery pack is, google Rimac.
Tyrone Ross Rimac and Koenigsegg need to team up, both make stupidly insane cars...
He is BEYOND Ferrari.
Who wants a Bugatti when you could have a Koenigsegg?
Bugattis are useless anyways
Xerro No Vatimo how so? It's a hyper car just like any other multi million dollar car
agreed, but most people know of bugatti and not koenigsegg
Someone with a complete lack of taste? xD
Let's see, Can't turn, can't really accelerate, it's ugly, doesn't sound good, isn't the fastest car in the world, has nothing in the interior to draw people in...I don't see any uses for it, point me out to some if you can or if I've missed some
So many technical terms. This guy knows his shit very well.
Lmao
Hm my shit is cool didnt know that people arent familiar with their own poop
Cyril TV idk maybe its the fact that he owns the company
Man I love this series
9:06 Batman slapping robin meme in the background. And no this is not the only thing i retained from this video lol
The613MC good catch lol
Im laughing my ass of about that detail
I really love these videos. I will never own one but it's beautiful to see the cutting edge of what humanity is capable of when someone has such passion as this man. What an amazing human being this man is. Humble down to earth and loves to share with us. I know you'll never read this but Thank you Christian
This series is so awesome and Christian is so informative. He knows everything about his cars, I fuckin love it!
So - almost nothing at all to do with the title then.
They talked about the process of how they prepare the car for crash tests, which IS about the title.
TheLegend27 for about the first min or two he talked about crash testing.. then it was, "these are the electric motor coolers, this isnt the real exhaust, we redesigned the subframe, here is the battery pack..."
i imagined at least 1 crash on film based off the title. Or the process on crash testing. it's a fantastic bit of information still, but was mostly off topic of the title for sure
And learned nothing?
When christian von koenigsegg hasn't reinvented the hood holder so he uses a massive wooden 2X4 on a $2M car
Yeah, but I bet that 2x4 is hand crafted from a special wood especially
developed and grown in the Himalayas. Its selected from trees that grow
at a precise and secret distance above sea level which enables its
unique grain pattern to grow in such a way that it ensures
the perfect, correct and accurate hood supporting abilities required for even weight distribution.
+Q3ToPBuZz
I've used that same piece of wood in many of my cars so does this mean what I've owned is on par with a Koeningsegg?
I think...yes.
blipco5
lol
ah but that looks like a piece of shipping dunnage, which is not a 2x4 common or even a dimensional
they're somewhere around 4x4, but not quite
Patrick Dow That's a 2x2
I always enjoy it when Mr. Christian von Koenigsegg do the narration. His nunciation was so clear and so captivating.
Sweden. Fast cars, great metal bands and hot girls.
And Ullared
And muslims
Yep... really sad
And Volvo.
Amon Amarth!
Imagine Elon Musk, Christian von Koenigsegg and Horacio Pagani sitting together in a room. How interesting will their conversations be
Tesla with the packs.. mmm mm.
I would also add Mate Rimac :)
and Rimac of course :) these batteries are developed by Rimac...
they wouldn't need to talk to speak to each other
Matte is a babe
Id love to see Elon Musk and Christian Von Koenigsegg having a chat about cars and technology!
The fk Elon knows about that, he's just a CEO, a manager and investor. He'd flood you with billboard slogans and you'll sit amazed, while hearing nothing new. Tesla is far from being a technological advance as a pure thing. It's just a hype in the time we live.
well koeingsegg is a team not just a person
Thank You, DoriFord.
People use the name Elon Musk as a buzz word now.
i love the end part
where a bit of wood is holding up the clamshell
speaks volumes, hightech where you need it, the rest is form, and pure function
When I see and hear Christian, I give a like. Great guy, great cars!
Simply one of the greatest car company owners of all time. Hopefully we'll get to see his work for many years to come
the man is an engineering genius, is insane how innovative this cars are
I can listen to him all day. Wish all managers and proprietors are the same as him. So much passion and easy to the ear.
Man he seems like someone you could just sit and talk with for hours. Of course he probably doesn't have that kind of time to spare. But hopefully one day I will get a chance at meeting him. I just need one million subscribers haha. Thanks for posting this video 👍🏻
Porsche Ferrari and McLaren, let their cars talk for themselves, they don't need to keep lecturing people on how good they supposedly are.

Problem is, when you have seen one of these series you have seen them all. Its just a guys explaining stuff in ley mans terms. Its not exactly technical
You guys are so underrated! Good work
Going down to the Koenigsegg Factory tomorrow for a tour. This has me even more hyped now!
Brämby good for you mate ;)
How was it?
I re-subscribed just for this series. This is a rare instance of you guys putting out something in recent times that's actually quality. Please, more Koenigsegg.
Christian is such a cool guy
I could listen to Christian for hours and hours and not get bored. Hope for the best at Koenigsegg
I would love to go to the factory and check out all the details..
If I ever own a super car, it will be a Koenigsegg. I like everything I see and hear about this company and its owner. Here is hoping.
Koenigsegg is a hypercar bordering on the line of megacar
Where can I submit my CV??! I'm ready to work salary-free :(
3.00 ....A 2x4 holding up the hood on a 2 million dollar car?...Looks like something I'd do....lol
Huh, can't thumbs up more than once. :(

+aaaaheahea Great game
on a similar note, i met super Sic 2 times
Wow... that's amazing... so sad how it all went and for his family, friends and ofc Rossi. ;(
I could listen to Christian all day long. A man who has a vision of what he wants and is making it happen. Very impressive!
Love these series!
Christian Von Koenigsegg will go down in history as one of the greatest engineering minds of the auto industry.
lol @ 6:50 did the guy laying underneath the car just wipe oil off his fingers then put it in his mouth?
nah, he was smelling it.
homologation taste tests are stricter than they used to be
but why would he smell it?
+Richard Lee new oil has a particular smell, when submitted to high temperatures and pressure the smell will change depending the additives and oil composition. The smell will change, if in the past there was a failure a good mechanic can use his nose.

I really like it how he says "we did" for everything, it really demonstrates how he see's Koenigsegg as a big team, if not family. I think this shows in their products.
Looking forward for the reviews made by journalists and pls. give the GRAND TOUR a regera to review
I got the chills from this demonstration! Thank you for keeping the swedish automotive -industry alive!
the cool thing is in all videos i see from these guys, their workplace is so small, it looks like a startup company lol. like in that one about the carbon fiber wheels
Well, they almost still are a "startup" compared to the rest of the big dogs.
Yeah but if you look at their production numbers, it is basically a start-up.
Well they've only been around for 22 years and only produce about a dozen cars a year. While their cars are very high end and expensive, they're far from a large company. Ford has been around for 113 years and produces close to 6 MILLION vehicles every year. That's around a dozen cars every minute.
Well how many of these things did you think they were pumping out? Of course it's not gonna be the size of a ford factory....
Seeing companies like Koenigsegg makes me wanna start my own car company. The best thing about having your own car company is that you can design your dream car and actually own it, and then sell it and make profit.
You know something is good when you have no hate messages in the comments section! LOL

2:59 Love how they still use wood to assemble a multi million dollar car :D
All that innovation, all that technology, and then uses a 2×4 to hold up the hood...love this guy.
Christian is a real hero
It would be an absolute dream to work for Koenigsegg. The passion that Christian has over his creations is absolutely awesome. and the cars are just incredible.
i love how with all these multi million dollar cars that are designed from billions of dollars of research and development, they're still holding the hood up with a plank of wood
No worries. They taped a bag to the top so it doesn't scratch the hood.
Reminds me of how Bentley checks the steering wheel's stitches for consistency, a super expensive specialized tool for the correct measurements - a fork
common sense engineering does not cost billions.
christian your innovation along the years and your vision about cars and cars industry is amazing. your attention to details is from other world.
when a koeningsegg model for the people that most of we can afford???
it will be a dream for regular people and the true revolution for the industry!!
i work on a big brand as parts specialist so i understand your vision and the way you look to parts and their function and the way they should be mount and work on a car.
best regards my friend.
9:20 I love how they just used a piece of wood to keep the hood up :D
No, its a organic fiber column, mechanically adjusted to temporaly fill the need of the hood open in a angle bigger then the factory spec. :D
Just make a carbon fiber one. lol
Love Chris showing and talking about his car.
Also I have an answer for the question of the title. You go 40mph and slam against a wall.
you've worked hard all your life, you can afford the best car in the world, you hire security so it doesn't get stolen. the government find your car hasn't past a safety test. they take it off you and crash it. how do you feel now? dipshit!
owen odonnell it's mutual that they know they have to crash test. No one is forcing him to do it. If he wants to sell we need to know it's safe. Lol
@@bobkin611 And there are a lot of tests, because every country has its own safety regulations too.
It's great listening to his extensive knowledge of his cars and the technology that goes into them
But does the 2x4 come with the car. I don't want it if I have to buy my own frunk board.
I LOVE these episodes, please keep this coming!!!!
How could it be wrong when the eletric technolgy is from RIMAC
Thank you so much for making these videos. I'll likely never see one of these cars in my lifetime, so these are really appreciated!
i'd want to see a 200K koenigsseg. a smaller, still deadly agera with 600hp would be pretty awesome.
Koenigsegg CC8S goes for about that price, CCX goes for about as much as an Aventador while being significantly faster(In a straight line at least)
They can't make enough to make them so cheap :(
well, you can make profit out of 200-250K cars with as little as 100 models. see venturi. what happens next is entirely on the demand.
I would love to sit down and talk with this guy about his cars, he has such a passion for the cars he makes/sells, very rare to find.
just saw this upload. I'm late for a meeting now.
This is the future in the making, incredible state of the art technology, keep the videos coming!
The mad scientist of the car world
Christian seems like such a down to earth and honest guy. So glad hes having the success he has.
I dont know what I find most amazing though... The cars or the shine on his head.
With 1200hp coming from the combustion engine alone, you'd think they could just use an alternator to charge the hybrid battery lol.
Incredible passion!
He gives the feeling that these hyper cars are truly the best. I'm sure he is absolutely right.
i love how there's a wooden hood stand on a 2 million dollar car
That 2x4 though
I think I'm a couple years older than Christian, and I always had the same dream- to create a supercar company in my homeland that was all me... what a total legend. always pushing forward. I will never likely be able to afford one, but I'm glad it exists

It's literally a spaceship. Because it goes in space.
OK8 you sound like a joyful lad
He's an inspiration to all auto engineers world wide. His passion is product, not profit. He's doing this because it's his dream. That's what seperates him from all the rest. I wish he would make affordable cars. Would be proud to own a Koenigsegg.
Clicked on video wanting to see a 2 million dollar crash. Saw 10 minutes of a bald man talking.
10 minutes wasted.
I could listen to Christian Von Keonigsegg talk about the Regera all day
Hahaha so true. :D
But I'm not even mad, bro.
Son of a Diddly
It says how to crash test not crash testing
Pizza Sub, still nothing of both of how to or crash test is in the video, so title is more than 100% missleading
Icecream bucket for storing stuff and a wooden pole to hold the hood open: that's really focusing on the important stuff! Kudos Koenigsegg!!!
$2 million dollar car, piece of wood holding up hood
LOL, now that you mention it, you'd think they could have managed a random cut off length of carbon fiber at least!
Love the the engineering ,and all the technical explanations. I use to love just the exterior of supercars, but the real beauty is in the details. Makes me wonder if the owners really understand what they are getting.
Very high discharge and recharge battery? must be lipo hope it doesn't burst into flames.
brett20000000009 eheh
brett20000000009 Don't worry it's not a Samsung :)
I heard somewhere that they have a dedicated cooling solution for the central batteries. Supposably keeping them at safe operating temps so they don't fatigue. I wouldn't be surprised...
I can't wait for the "body" episode, this car is so beautiful.
aren't LiFePO4 batteries capable of much higher currents? I've had single cells that can do 1200A peak
3:19 the Regera has a heave spring and/or damper in the rear suspension... Connects the two rockers together so when the wheels go up or down together they actuate the spring and/or damper to get different spring/damping rates than when an individual tire moves by itself... Very cool... just noticed it.
Did anyone see it crash? I must have missed that part.
Gotta love the 2×4 holding the hood on a $2m car.
Cool cars. Just strange that the model names sound like IKEA furniture.
Hhahahahh so true:)
You mean swedish words sound like swedish words?
kuugeli nej är det sant /s
Love the lump of wood holding it open... classic. :-)
