So I was wrong. A moderator sent me the perfumer video this is Arabic/Greek and is pronounced AL-TAA-EAR. Now I know
Wore it this past weekend. Opening was smooth, very designer. After several minutes it really started to push off the skin with a strong vanilla scent, however, for me there was a note going along with the vanilla that was giving me a clay/play dough smell that bothered me. It happens with other vanilla scents for me as well. The longer it sits, that dies down and it goes into the vanilla. Once in full drydown, I couldn’t stop smelling my arm every few minutes. That being said, I wasn’t “wowed”. I’ll give it more tests. But at $350, and my SoCal climate, I don’t see buying it until heavily discounted. Maybe 7.5 out of 10.
I actually agree with u. Further into the scent I got a small playdough like vibe as well and I still don’t find it right for the price I give it around an 8

I like PDM and I was going to blind buy this one after hearing all the great reviews but was fortunate to test it first. This is a let down for me, nothing special at all and to me reminds me a lot of Tom Ford Metallique. I’m glad I tested it first, it saved me a lot of money.

Love pdm althaïr It does not smell like anything out here. Awesome fragrance I love it. Great video man I understand all our nose picks up different stuff. The guy that made althaïr said it was a hard fragrance to make. No I disagree on you saying designer. Galloway nothing smells like it
There are a few PDMs that are not designer esque but when I say designer esque I mean built for mass appeal people for some reason take that as a slight at the specific fragrance but I like designer fragrances more than niche as a whole there are many designers that are much less synthetic than some niche fragrances so I only say that due to the mass appeal of it as a lot of niche are built for personal enjoyment and this one is not it’s built for both. But as far as smelling like other designer frags fragrances are subjective I do get that but from what I’ve seen so far from other reviewers and parfumo/Facebook/fragrantica it’s being compared to mostly designers and designer like niche brands like goldfield and banks and Mancera. I think the #1 most compared Frag is club black at least what I’ve found. Either way I love it. Appreciate the love buddy!

I love Galloway. It was my second PDM purchase. Doesn't get nearly the love and respect it warrants. I only wear it in winter personally but it is always well received. Smells like sparkling snow on a clear morning to me.
@Drinkmorebourbon You are right I absolutely love it. It's still my favorite it is so dam good. I just got mine about 4 months ago and it does awesome in the heat. I can't wait to try it in the cold

Randy, I smelled this today and it instantly reminded me of Armani Code Profumo, complete with that “root beer float” vibe going on. Compare them sometime. I think it smells more like a designer scent than anything remotely niche in my opinion.
100% it does smell designer for sure. I’m gonna do a Vs video with Althair Vs club black most wanted and I’ll add code profumo. I don’t get the comparison as much as I get mostly vanilla from Althair but I’ll def test them side by side to see

I have smelled paradox but I don’t remember it that much but it does have that vibe of the ysl libre if I remember which is that bubblicious vibe but again it’s just a vibe on top of the vanilla
Have you ever smelled EILISH? This smells like club black mixed with that but anyway Great video sounds good but ur right I will wait for a joma sale or aura better prices all around just hope they have it in a couple months I don’t wanna wait long

Yes for designers and niche that are priced well. But blind buying anything $150 or more I feel isn’t smart. I would rather get a decent and try first and wait for a discounter save $80-$100 or more and buy another fragrance with that.
I agree with you that it’s designer ish, I def don’t get club black but I can not stand that scent so that’s probably my bias. I see what ya saying in the opening to Most wanted but the it drys down into a ginger scent on my skin, not for me. I agree it is unisex. For me in the dry down it smells like SWY Intensely not exact but similar. For me I don’t think I would pick this one up just cause it’s to similar to Intensely in the dry down only n I honestly am not a fan of the opening of Althaïr… but this is just my opinion.
I know jts4248 he lives close to me so I got to smell his when he got it, (he is crazy for PDM scents) and was not all that impressed as I thought I would be. To each his own tho right.
Ya he def loves his PDMs lol I thought he was gonna shank me when I said it smelled like a designer lol. But it’s weird I heard so many people saying it smelled like certain frags none of which I get and what’s funny is I like this it’s not a full love for me but def like and I hate intensely like severely hate intensely. So I guess this one comes off crazy different to a lot of people. But I said designer esque and a lot of people seem to take that as I mean synthetic or cheaper but all I mean is it’s built for mass appeal

It’s his favorite house and if me or anyone else says a PDM smell like a designer he will argue with you that it don’t when we can all smell it but his mind won’t let him cause he’s so PDM crazy. Not saying there’s anything wrong with that I’m glad he has a favorite like that. I’m like you I will not drop over 350 I will wait for it to go on sale. He will buy it right when it comes out without testing. That’s just the way he is lol.. Althaïr is def not as sweet in the dry down as Intensely n to me you take that sweetness away and it just about the same smell, it’s still sweet but not that sweet.
Of course it was hot that day I smelled it maybe I will get something different in the cold weather. Yeah I love how we all get something different from Althaïr. Shows it’s well blended.

I’ve tried both and they are compleeeeeeeeetely different like miles. As far as vanilla frags it’s like doughnuts and spaghetti
Just couldn’t get into it. It’s “ok”. Side note my wife loved it but it’s a pass for me.

I’m with you. I’m a buyer at $150-180. PDM is crazy to change $300. Xerjoff Richwood by itself is better than all the fragrances of PDM combined. In other words I would rather have a 3.4 of Richwood which is $300 than all of the PDM lineup 3.4oz. Just not a very good house, nothing mind blowing that warrants those prices. They are a tiny step up from designers so they should be $180, as designers are now insanely overpriced. All in all it sounds like a good holiday fragrance With the cinnamon, I love that note.
Richwood is not better than all PDMs combined lol gtfoh with that absolute nonsense hyperbole.
@@BourbonInhibitions Well it’s subjective. I would take Richwood or Alexandria 2 over anything from this house. I think their prices are way out of line, almost as bad as Creed or we can call them Greed.
@@rd5469I can get discounted PDM for a Chanel price. Still expensive, but worthwhile. And Chanel is better than many niche houses (my opinion of course).
Xerjoff is one of my favorite houses and I absolutely love Richwood,but to say it's better than all of PDM is madness. Layton, Herod, and Althair are 10/10 fragrances with great performance, but I would go Xerjoff over PDM personally.
