Tamiya Saint Dragon Speed Run

- Here we go with a speed run of my Tamiya Saint Dragon on the Thundershot chassis. It is stock other than the obligatory ball bearings, stock silver can, TBLE-04S ESC and with a 4200mAh 50c 2S LiPo Oh and some cheap wheels and tyres so I didn't wear out the stock ones.
How fast will it go? It bloomin' well surprised both Mark and I.
As per many, many thanks to my very good friend MarkOnTheCamera @MarkBryanRC
This R/C assembly kit recreates the 4WD buggy Saint Dragon which was the main model of a popular 1980s Japanese comic. The chassis consists of a tough bathtub frame plus front and rear gearboxes with suspension attached. 4-wheel double wishbone suspension uses CVA oil dampers for a superior ride, and a front stabilizer for a firm setup. The stylish body is moulded in polycarbonate and pre-painted white, just requiring application of stickers to finish it.
Efficient Shaft-Driven 4WD
The chassis features a shaft-driven 4WD drive train married to a lightweight and tough bathtub frame that employs front and rear gearboxes with the suspension attached to them; that suspension utilizes upper "I" and lower "H" arms, and offers a ground-hugging drive. CVA oil dampers and a front stabilizer contribute further to an excellent drive. Both gearboxes house a gear differential, and are compact to ensure plentiful ground clearance. The kit also features an aluminium motor mount for superior heat dissipation.
Features
★The body in one piece is pre-assembled and pre-painted in white, all that is needed to finish the body is the application of stickers.
★Based on the same 4WD buggy chassis as the Terra Scorcher and Fire Dragon, utilizing a sturdy tub frame plus front / rear differential housings that also act as suspension mounts.
★4-wheel double wishbone suspension uses CVA oil filled shock absorbers for superior ride and a stabilizer bar adds stability to the model.
★Front and rear sealed differentials are of the 3-planetary die-cast type for superior handling.
★The steering geometry is composed of three adjustable tie rods to allow for adjustment of the toe-in.
★Features an aluminium motor mount for added rigidity.

That is really good for a stock silver can run! It looks good out there too Rob with the custom look you went with!
Many thanks Addam. It has very much grown on me and I do prefer my carbon fibre decals.
Oh man one of my dream rcs. Such a cool and unique design. Thanks for the upload!
You are very welcome and thanks so much for watching my friend.
Great stuff, Rob! Nice and peppy, no need to change that motor, it's good speed for a 10th scale buggy. Good fun with Mark as always, dude!
Hi Mads. Couldn't agree mate, although I may try a 15T brushed just to see how fast it goes. Many thanks and all the best fella.
Ha love the ending 🤣😂 Hey good stuff and pretty nippy for a silver can. Fun video as ever. Best wishes mate 😁👍👍
Hello McPete. It was a good one wasn't it (even though I can't remember it now, stupid old fart) Cheers matey.👍👌
I've always considered the Saint Dragon to be a little unsightly but you're changing my mind. It looks great Rob!
I know what you mean but it was cheap and it has grown on me with the carbon fibre decals. Many thanks my friend.
Very fast 😊 Can almost catch the Millenium Falcon now 😊
Storm Pooper he say 'Almost but no cigar' 😂 Many thanks my friend.

Not bad for a little silver can 👍 ...purple helmet 🤣😂
You got that right! Many thanks and all the best buddy.
Thats a fast one McRob
Maybe Mark need a LiPo too now
You may be right but the big proplem is most LiPos don't fit in many Tamiya kits. Many thanks Are and all the best fella.
@@robbrennanrc Thats why i have several different LiPo's in different sizes 😉
21's great, really must be because of the extra power coming from the LiPo.
Wouldn't surprise me in the least Dirk. Many thanks and all the best buddy.
I think a rally car body and wheels is needed. Undercover slalom contender.
Nice thinking Paul. Will have to have a look at what I could try😁😜👌 Cheers matey.

Descent!!
Very decent Damian. Many thanks and best wishes buddy.
No squirrel, no black mafia bimmer.
Wats dis youngs😂
21mph on a stock silver can... I might want to get a Terra Scorcher to replace my crappy WLToys 104001 buggy. I have a couple questions.
1. Where can I find the wheels and tires you used on your Saint Dragon?
2. What pinion gear did you use?
Cheers from Philadelphia, PA in the USA.
Hi. Many thanks and to answer your questions
1/ I got them some years ago from evilbay. I think the seller was Blacksmithsproducts based here in the UK.
2/ It was using the stock pinion supplied with the kit.
Hope this helps
1st...
Good Work!!!
Cookies on the way and thanks matey.

What road tires/rims can you put on the Saint Dragon?
Hi. I'm sure really. I use a cheap set of off road wheels and tyres that I got from eBay. Sorry I can't be of more help
I thought he might have used the the biggest pinion on it.
G'day McRobster and McMarkster🙋♀️🤠.
Nearly almost 22 McMiles per McHour😳🏁, Awesome run fella's and nice looking buggy Cobber👌. Sheila and I hope you're both well and having a great time👍🦘🇦🇺

Maybe next time when I stick a 15T brushed and bigger pinion 😅😂 Doing well but a bit knackered. Deen trying to tidy up the sister church to my sisters Sacred Heart for the past four weeks (2 to 3 days per week) wasn't to bad till this week when we have just started a mini heatwave (Well for the UK that is 20 to 23C😁😅) Hope all is well downunder
