@@outboy2 He had to most of those plays, both the edges collapsed quick that means either step up and throw and scramble for yards. Hard to not unless you only are getting pressure from one side and can roll out and have more time to find a target. I think he made the right reads.

It’s the flow of new blood into the league, all these teams are really young now and they want to earn their spots. I like it, pre season feels like college now. The nfl average age is like 25 it’s nice. All the olds retired and now we’re getting next gen athletes 👌🏻

No Matt Ryan = New adventure for Falcons fans. It is refreshing to see a QB who can run. Yes, the rebuild will take time, but change is good.

@@Slimkidd730 as much as I love Matt he wasn’t able to do anything in ATL, tbh they held him back. And while yes mariota isn’t as accurate as Ryan it’s not because he’s a running QB. For all we know Ridder could have the athleticism of Mariota and accuracy of Ryan, obviously that’s optimistic but that’s the point in saying that it’s a new adventure, anything can happen including success we didn’t even achieve with Matt.

Our Front 7 in ATL looks a lot more inspired Game 1. I'd like to see our coverage improve a lot more before the season. Offensively, Mariota showed TONS of explosiveness that will allow for a lot more creativity in the offense. Ridder showed lots of poise for a rookie. Glad to get the dub and sooooo happy football is back. Rise Up! 🔴⚫

@@quintin_xd5848 We held them to under 4 yards per carry as a team, we didn't allow a run over 10 yards, and the QBs had a QB Rating of 78 collectively. We only got one sack, but we generated good pressure. Detroit's WR just did a great job of getting open.

Ridder looked like Kap, knifing through the middle with long strides. Lions 1st team was crisp, linebackers looked slow to diagnose forcing too many tackles to the secondary to pickup the slack. Elliot was a sledge hammer. I'd like to see Malcom Rodiguez get into the starting lineup he seems like one of the few Lions LB's who can actually read plays and close distance.

You're aware Kap was terrible aside from like 1.5 seasons right? People look at his low int total and they think he's some great passer with great decision making but he was actually a wildly inaccurate passer and his ints were only low because he never threw unless his receiver was open in the 1st read. If the window was tight on his first read he'd just run because he knew he couldn't fit it in. He couldn't throw guys open and he was a one read and run qb. You do not want a qb anything like him. He was just a slightly more athletic Marcus Mariota.

The falcons having a more elusive quarterback is better for their O-line. Ryan def couldn’t move out that pocket to save his life and now the line can stress less and relax more
I totally agree, It was one of the thing Ryan couldn't do was move out of the pocket as quick, and now its great to see Falcons now have 2 QB's that can do that exactly. In my opinion, I think Mariota is that little bit quicker.
What ever it takes to lose, that's our Lions.

Two self inflicted turnovers lost this game for the Lions. The starting O looked phenomenal, but even 2 field goals by the backups win this game. Bet that's the subject of the next group meeting.

No. Dan Campbell plans to hold a farting contest to determine who wins the starting kicker job in the next meeting.
Couple of things: 1. Riddler was much more impressive then I thought he would be.
2. Barring any injuries Hutchinson looks like the real deal.
3. Goff didn't look too bad at all.
4 Tyler Allgeier looked good and could possibly be the starting RB. He certainly has the size.
5. Swift barring any injuries is going to be the RB the Lions had been missing for years.
6. London is going to be a problem to cover. He and Pitts are going to be a great threat if they develope.
That was the best game I seen my Falcons play in a long time. The enthusiasm that they played with was contagious thru out the whole team.
Even though they lost, I love what I'm seeing from DeAndre Swift. He's an underrated HB in the nfl. People don't talk much about how good he was last year, but he had a good year last year

I've tried to tell folks all off season...When you have a Mobile QB it helps the O-Line and Running game.
The offense looks to be way ahead of schedule and hard for defenses to deal with
This has been the best I seen the running game look in a long while. Algier looked strong running the rock...the o-line opened nice holes.
The back door QB stuff will eventually slow down the rush and the passing game will pick up.
The Falcons scored a TD on the opening drive and Pitts didnt catch not one ball and wasnt even targeted.
They had atleast 3 offensive penelties and overcame all of them...not to pick on Ryan but they would have punted if he was the QB in those situations.
It looks like the Falcons are going to be very good in the Red Zone this yr.

But the Lions back 7 is historically bad here. They cannot tackle or cover. They are literally going to surrender 1500+ yards down the middle this year.
Matt Patricia, as bad as he was, understood the importance of protecting that area. The Lions are not even close to being suitable there.
Don’t see this as me taking away from the Falcons. I still believe you guys finish with a better record and love your pov.
But telling you from a Detroit perspective this defense is among the worst in the middle you will ever see on an nfl field.
I liked how Detroit Lions and Jared Goff played in their only drive. Lions are going to have an explosive offense this season. Nice exhibition preseason game. Honolulu Blue and Silver to the top.

Tyler Algier would've had a hell of a night if the QB had thrown him the ball when he was wide open on several plays. He still showed a lot of poise in every facet. Dynasty sleeper ; )

Bro we legit have a new look Falcons all around from players, coaches, and management. It would be wise to tune in this time around. Realistically I don't have super high expectations (this season) however I believe at best were 10-7 and worse 7-10 again. It really looks like we drafted some good pieces this year hope everyone stays healthy. Lastly Ridder looks very promising 👌🏽, looks like 4 years a stater in college has really paid off his confidence and IQ is on point.

Mariota looked pretty good but Ridder looked like he should be the starter.
Of course he looked better. He played against the second and third string defense and almost got picked off twice.. went 10 for 22 and threw 2 touchdowns.. Marcus went 2 for 2 and ran in a touchdown in 12 plays.. and that was against the first team defense.. get a clue.. your delusional if you think Ridder is better for Atlanta than Mariota..
Nah, Ridder played against 3rd stringers, he is where he is supposed to be and that's Mariotas backup. Marcus is an elite talent at QB.

I regret watching the highlights because this was such a good game. (Should’ve watch the game) I’ve watched a lot preseason games which mostly sucks especially when backups come in but this actually felt like a real game from start to finish...(maybe bias falcon fan excited for Ridder)

Bro we legit have a new look Falcons all around from players, coaches, and management. It would be wise to tune in this time around. Realistically I don't have super high expectations (this season) however I believe at best were 10-7 and worse 7-10 again. It really looks like we drafted some good pieces this year hope everyone stays healthy. Lastly Ridder looks very promising 👌🏽, looks like 4 years a stater in college has really paid off his confidence and IQ is on point.
