Before Covid I was a waiter in Tasmania where XI Zing Ping visited and subsequently was visited by 1000"s of Chinese.
They were all arrogant like these young women and I was so beneath them as a waiter that thier treatment was dispicable.
We were quite a high end restaurant and our food was delicious so our name travelled amongst thier groups.
Approx 12 would arrive, would not wait to be seated and rearrange tables to suite the size of thier group.
Immediatly one would started raising the arm and clicking the fingers for attention.
The rest would immediatly bury thier heads in thier phones and completely ignore me, while I was told to bring such and such dishes.
I got sick of this and imposed new rules.
"All phones down or nobody gets served."
"Order all dishes now"., they would order 2 or 3 dishes first to test the quality.
Then I would say, "my name is Greg and I am delighted to be your waiter tonight".

No one said oh, last minute ticket! or what do you plan to visit? We had no clue. We checked with our hotel and they had several suggestions. After a couple of days seeing the sights, we got on a kind of back-packers' tour that went along the coast to Melbourne staying overnight on the way. We spent a day looking around Melbourne, still with no plan in mind before we came. Then on to Sydney to catch a flight home (to Taiwan). You could do that back then. Oh, wait. @kanishkrauthan2470 16 дней назад

@@Phil_X Not sure why you are being so judgemental for people carrying their laptops? Even in this century, laptops serve a lot of purposes apart from just completing assignments. They are not heavy at all because in this century we have made developments which have led to very very light laptops compared to the laptops from 5-10 years ago (seems like you are a bit out of touch from reality). Not everyone likes doing their banking/travel plans/mails on their phone. Ease of use for office applications is not very good on phones when compared to a laptop (yes people do plan their travels on excel, word etc.). Not everyone has their emails on their phones, people like to keep their professional and personal lives separate, there is also remote work which you cannot do on your phone. Finally, not everyone likes watching movies on their phone, some people prefer a laptop. I personally carry my laptop while traveling so I can make music, play games etc. If you prefer to do things one way does not mean it is the ONLY way. Saying all that, do I agree with the passengers arguing? Not at all, its easier to answer the questions and move on. Do I agree that the questions were very generic? As a resident/citizen, yes; As an international student, absolutely not. Try being a little bit open minded and objective in your arguments instead of being an angry keyboard warrior. Do better!
