- I was commissioned to make this very special state trooper hat display case. The hat belonged to Mississippi State Trooper Daniel E. Smith EOW 1957. Trooper Smith was hit and killed by a drunk driver while in the line of duty.
The display case is made of a pine frame with walnut splines. Encased with 1/8" glass. Trooper Smiths name and End Of Watch are laser engraved on the front side.
I show you the steps I took to make this case and some of the trouble I ran into. This was one of the more difficult project I have done. Filming and editing this video proved to be the most difficult yet.

Thank you for making this for Janet to give to me! You will never know how proud I am of this and finally getting it out of that box! My younger brother had this until he passed away 2 years ago. He would be so proud of this. He was 1 month old when Daddy was killed. Also thank you for your service as a Veteran. My Dad had also been in the Air Force and my husband is a Army Veteran, so this means even more now knowing this.
You are so welcome! I loved making this! The fact that it was for a fallen hero makes it all the better. Stay in touch and hope to see you both on my other premiere videos. If I’m ever y’all’s way during my travels I’ll reach out maybe we can grab lunch!
Thank you for making this for my grandfather's hat. I never had the chance to meet him but I'm sure he'd love it. I know my mom sure does. Great job!!
It really was my pleasure! I loved making this.
Thank you, Andy. Great video.
Thank you Bill. I appreciate you watching!
Really cool! You can tell a lot of time and work went into this! I really like how you did the base to fit in so it would slide around. Turned out great!! Keep up the hard work
Thank you! This was one of the more challenging projects for sure!
Awesome job! Thanks for sharing the process 💙🖤
Thank you! I appreciate you watching😁
Great job Andy, I really enjoyed the time you took to explain your thought process and share the insight on installing the glass. Memorial projects are always difficult emotionally, yet the most rewarding. Thank you for your service to our great country!!!
Thank you Michael! I’m really glad you liked it. This project was very rewarding.
Beautiful, Andy! Really amazing work! 😃
But yeah... Back in the day things were a bit too crazy when you talk about justice. Even more in isolated areas. 😕
Here in Brazil it's still like this, unfortunately.
Anyway, stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Thank you my friend. Yeah crazy stuff happens. Hope you and yours are well!
