Man, I have never cried so openly at the end of a movie. Or the entirety on a rewatch. Or during any post-film interviews. Or while reading that the film, cast, and crew won awards. Or even got nominated for awards. EEAAO is such a masterpiece, and that term should never be used lightly.
I feel like I watched a different movie when people spaff on about EEAAO. It was so boring and ridiculous I was counting the minutes til it ended. The whole conceit about Evelyn being the greatest underachiever and therefore the one person to save the universe was the most ridiculous inversion of a narrative trope I've ever witnessed - I literally groaned when it was painstakingly explained. Just garbage.

I didn't care much for Evelyn saving the universe either, but Joy being pushed too hard, to the point of being depressed and suicidal in all universes, really resonated with me. Evelyn learning to see the beauty and goodness in everyone around her was a beautiful aspect of the movie too, because how often do we see multiverse/superhero movies where the protagonist fights with love and kindness?
She’s such an awesome person. Love the enthusiasm. I'm very close to my mom. She was at a turning point in her life where she was getting lost in the chaos and found herself. Michelle did so much in her performance for that type of woman and I hope she continues to be recognized for her work. ❤
I can’t believe they made this movie in slightly over a month and timed it *cosmically* to wrap up the day we all had to go into lockdown… it blows my mind how important this movie was to have in the world and how so many things had to come together perfectly to make it happen.

This is the best talk show interview I’ve seen where the host really saw this film and gave it thought before interviewing a cast member. Stephen really aced this one! ❤️ His summary in the beginning couldn’t have been better said and his response regarding the impact of the film’s emotional ending was so on point! I laughed so much throughout the film with all the crazy and whacky things that happened that I was surprised I cried at the end. You feel slightly like you might have lost your mind! 😂

Watched this immediately after seeing EEAAO for the first time on bluray, and it was amazing. I have not been affected by a movie that deeply in ages. Michelle Yeoh is transcendent, literally and figuratively. It's her showing that she could be everything at once, or just as ordinary as every person out in the world, at the same time. Amazing. Just incredibly affecting. The nomination is overdue, but absolutely deserved.
