Great explanation. But it is better if we use monthly data which are the sum of daily data. my question is how the month display in your Rstudio result as Jan, Feb...
Thank you for your great video. Since you have a daily data and you need to convert these to monthly data, you should use SUM function within PivotTable and not average.
HI Thank you very much for your useful video. I noticed that there is some difference when you were calculating the monthly rainfall values here. I think it should be a monthly rainfall value, not a monthly daily average value. Each monthly value represents the total rainfall amount for that particular month. If possible please check. Thank you so much
Thanks a lot this was very helpful. How do you then interpret the spi values ? do you like find the average spi value which you can use to draw conclusions?
Please help me, I do everything like the video but R responds like this: "Calculating the Standardized Precipitation Evapotranspiration Index (SPEI) at a time scale of 3. Using kernel type 'rectangular', with 0 shift. Fitting the data to a Gamma distribution. Using the ub-pwm parameter fitting method. Checking for missing values (`NA`): all the data must be complete. Using the whole time series as reference period. Input type is vector. No time information provided, assuming a monthly time series."
it's really great and can u please explain how can i calculate SPI for multiple stations , actually i'm having many stations for one district, how can i consider all stations ? means is it necessary to do for every station ?
Thank you very much for your interesting video. Please, I would like to know how did you set up the spei formulas in the different sheets to get the plots directly after adding data from R?
It was a really useful video. Thank you very much. How can we calculate SPI for multi-station precipitation data for a basin?I want to do spi analysis for multiple stations as R studio.

Why did it show NA for January and February?
Because SPI-3 is accumulation period of three months. Hence, the data for the first year starts from March.
