You probably sold more Deepminds than all the guys at Sweetwater.
haha, I've always wondered why synth manufactures don't farm out official synth demos, it's the best way to "sell" a synth. We're all about the sound at the end of the day.
This man is an absolute legend in the patch game!
💪
Came for the synth stayed for the music!
when the loops is so nice that you dont even realize its a loop
That sequence is so good. It demos the envelopes so well.
Couldn't decide whether to buy this or Poly D for a while now. Your video has me decided. Thanks.
Tangerine Dream forever!! Very nice.
Very pretty! Your sequence shows off the Deepmind very well!
wonderful, keep these DM12 D vids coming, I need tutorials / inspiration
Lol having one would be enough inspiration for me
Very nice! I´m going to buy a Deepmind 12D in a few hours. I also have the JD-990 that you have below the Deepmind :)
Keep up the good work
@Tim did ever buy the deep mind and if so how do you like it?
The right synth in the right hands!
Love how you have it sitting over the beautiful super jd.... must dig mine out of storage
Great work 👍
That thing is a some kind of work of art
Very impressive! ...wish I had this interface for my beloved u-he Repro
This guy makes a hardware interface for the u-he Repro 5.
sound-force.nl/?page_id=2412
it's based on interface of roland juno-6, which they trying to recreate and expand in this synth
something remind, but not sound for sure, Repro sounds in ten times better for me, have own interesting tembre of sound.
Do you have to use something like Cubase to record a sequence like that via MIDI? I can hear 3 different layers being played (bass/chords, and 1/2 melodies?).
Are you actually controlling all the layers at once when, say, you open the filter? Or individually?
I have a DM12 keyboard but never used it connected to my PC, and the build in control sequencer can't be used like this, so sorry for asking!
It sounds great by the way.
Sounds to me like he's recorded parts separately in a Daw on seperate tracks then playing the sequence/Arpeggiater over it.
What rack are you using? :)
I am looking to buy the DM12 Desktop, and LOVE how it looks in that rackmount!
JS-SRR100 Rolling Rack, Ultimate support
Is that a factory preset? If yes which one? I m not through with all that presets it commed with :D Anyway good work! Thumbs up
Sounds great.
Looks so much nicer without the office furniture looking wood panels. a proper looking synth knob on that encoder would make a huge aesthetic improvement as well.
Couldn't agree more!
Loved every second
nice seq on the deepmind12D
Hi Sami … Nice video ! … Can you tell me is the first arpeggiated patch generated solely by the DeepMind 12 or is it layered with a patch from another synth please ? … Many Thanks … Siobhan
It's all just the Deepmind, and this is all one take with no multi layers.
Hi Sami … Thank you for coming back to me and wow, I’m impressed ! … Are you going to release a patch library for the DeepMind 12 anytime soon ?
@@sibbsnibbs Yes, aiming for April!
Nice sequence
Is this Sylenth clone?) Coolllll!!!
Wow! Love that TD-sound. Get My DeepMind tomorow.
Its a great synth😉 brilliant job!
You make a full record out of an arpeggio! Tell us the truth: You come from Tangerine Dream, don't you? Underwater Sunlight!
I'm looking for a hardware synth for trance (bass, pads and leads). The Novation Peak currently has my interest. How does the Deepmind compare (as you have had time using both)?
I tried both, and went with the Peak. Love it. Its more capable than the DM - 3 fully assignable Oscolators for a start. The FX section is better on the DP though. Im actually thinking of a DM12 module to partner the Peak to be honest.
Nice one. Thanks for the reply! Ordered my Peak today and look forward to playing around with it tomorrow :-)
@@KennyPalmer cool. Im far from a pro user, but if you need any tips or get stuck on trying to do something, drop me a line and Ill help if I can.
Thanks, @@paulmapp8306. Really appreciate it and will do :-)
Simply fantastic
Is it possible to have access to the inputs/outputs/midi if this thing is in a rack...? Would you have to cut custom holes, and have it on top or...? How does that work?
If you take a look at pictures of the back, there's a small enough gap that you might be able to hook up Right Angle cables, you might be able to fit them without leaving an extra 1U above. If you leave 1U of rack space above it though there's definitely room. Mine's at the top of the rack so it's not an issue.
My next synth.
where are the patches for Deepmind on your site?
Beautiful, I want one.
So you can do modular synth with just one block?
it is one synth? can you do generative with it? :) thanks!
Too beautiful. Made me buy one today.
Cool:) My nexxt buy!
dope! is this a split. layer of. low-end bas/pad and then the sequence on top?
It’s not split or layered, it’s just a single sequence
any point in buying Behringer's standalone analog synths like the polyD, MonoPoly, CAT, k-2 etc or can the deep mind cover it all?
Idk if it's my imagination but the Deepmind never approaches the PHAT territory like i have heard on demos of the other standalone synths.
seems to be a jack if all trades / master of none type of thing. But idk.
Thoughts?
You are correct. I don’t know if the deepmind is really a Juno ok disguise or what, I’ve never had a Juno and it’s not really an obsession of mine, but the deepmind is not at all like the clones you mentioned. You can still enjoy it for what it is of course, but it’s not a full phat experience like Behringer clones of the moog etc
@@AiynZahevSounds Interesting. It seems to be nail the Juno sound from the shootout vids I've seen.
But the PolyD and CAT standalones are catching my ears because of the phatness they provide.
You don't think the Deepmind could get into that territory?
@@AiynZahevSounds Would you say the DM Excels on stuff like pads and ambient / "noisy" experimental type of sounds more than just big phat synthy sounds?
@@levijessegonzalez3629 I would say to anyone who was really into the sounds of a PolyD or Monopoly to just get one or both of those. There’s really not a lot of point buying a synth for what it “doesn’t do”. Especially with all the options available to us today.
Someone will always chime in with “I make X synth sound like this Y you just have to program it a certain way like me” and people were saying that about digital VA synths like the Virus or early software synthesizers. As though all you need to do is modulate the oscillators with random pitch and now boom it’s analog. That’s good enough for some people I guess but then when Diva came out for example you see just how much a digital synth needed to be specialized to sound “phat” and analog.
Anyway long story short, I think of it like this, most of the character is from how the oscillators tune/track, how the mixer distorts and the general character of the filter. In my opinion those characteristics are a fixed quality inherent to the design of whatever particular synth we’re taking about and that’s why they have the sound that they do.
In the analog world, filters vary in design which is what gives them their character. Some self oscillate and some don’t, some sound quite unstable at self oscillation and others just produce clean sine waves. Then there’s the headroom of the mixer stage following it, and the nature of how it clips of it runs out of that headroom.
On RUclips search for the video of the Macbeth vs Sea Devils vs Aion filter. Everything else being equal in the signal path, but they switch out the filters models and you can hear the differences in sound characteristics.
How has the Deepmind held up over the years? It strikes me as one of Behringer's best efforts but I don't have one so can't say.
Well I expect reports will vary a lot on these units. Mine is fine apart from the main encoder which is pretty much useless now, everything else works fine
@@AiynZahevSounds I see. Presumably this can be repaired/replaced? Downside of hardware I guess. I recently got my sub37 from servicing. Repair bill was north of $500. Octave switch on osc1 stopped working and one sticky preset button. Other problem is logistics. If you're not close to a repair shop it's shipping and waiting etc.
I guess so but it's not worth the cost for me
@@Screaming-Trees
@@AiynZahevSounds Fair enough. The synth sounds great to my ears. For all the clones and things Behringer do they could focus on something like this which, I mean, it's clearly Roland inspired but they put their own spin on it and somehow made it their own therefore.
@@AiynZahevSounds What are you doing these days anyway? I don't see a lot of content on the channel.
Very nice Sequence
Can I save patches onto the desktop version or is this only doable in the keyboard version. Contemplating if I should go with desktop or keyboard. Thank you.
Both versions allow you to save patches!
Did you make this by assigning the control sequence to the pitch in the mod matrix???
No it’s just sequenced via MIDI
Impressive Jam! How is it possible to play two different sounds (Lead + Bass) simultaneously with this synth? It's not multitimbral, right? Is it possible to assign two different MIDI-Channels with different voices or how can it be done otherwise? Thanks and sorry, if this is a beginner level question.
Check out this video where I explained it on the Moog Sub37, which isn't even polyphonic: ruclips.net/video/gVmB694omP8/видео.html
@@AiynZahevSounds did I miss something but I can't see the explanation in the moog video. Would be nice to know.
@@JenaroMusic this synth is polyphonic, but not multipart. It’s not actually playing two different presets or anything, it’s just that the sound is designed to be a little different depending on whether the note is low or high
@@AiynZahevSounds yeah but how do you manage the one voice staying on that note while the other voices play the seq?
@@JenaroMusic I was thinking the same thing, but then realized that it's a polyphonic synth! Haha
Seasons greetings, Sami! Best regards, D
Thank you, you too!
Looks great, sounds great!
what is voice #4 doing in the first half of the video, is it the bass notes?
Yes!
SamiRabia And how do you set it up so you have an arp going and a trigger for the 4th voice simultaneously. Hope the question was clear, been trying to do this on my dm but with no luck
great loop. what was used as a sequencer here?
Ableton Live
@@AiynZahevSounds Great. thank you
Awesome thanks
You're welcome!
Awesome sequence! :)
Very nice! Powerful synth!
Did the Subby-Bassline come from the Deepmind too ?
Doug Yeah this is all one take with the deepmind
Yeah it’s not multi timbral
Sounds great!
This will be my next purchase, the thing is so huge though for a desktop 😩🤦🏻♂️
Rack it!
please Aiyn create a bank for this sinth and give to him the right power
Will do!
Great!
What external hardware are you using with the 12D? Keyboards, sequencers ect (if any)
It's just running of MIDI via USB from my DAW. One effect plugin for delay, Replika.
I know somebody else said in the comments, but how are you playing the bass notes and the arp at the same time? @@AiynZahevSounds
@@Ejlectronics6 It's in polyphonic mode, so I have a number of voices that can play at the same time. I'm not actually using the arp mode, I'm simply sending it bass notes and the melody notes with MIDI.
Would love some kind of tutorial. It's probably simple to you but It's always good to see it in practice. @@AiynZahevSounds
Great Sounds! Do you have Soundbanks for the Deepmind 12D?
Not yet!
This sounds great! What is this sequence?
Just one that I made up
@@AiynZahevSounds great! Do you play this realtime? Or bass notes are from different take/seq?
@sbmphr so it's multitimbral midi?
all sounds created with this Deepmind? i mean, Bass to?
Yeah this is just one take with the Deepmind and some delay
This is so cool!
If Im not mistaken, the DM doesnt have a step sequencer per se, so what are you using for sequencing?
I use my JD-Xi ;-))
It does have one. Just not physical and has to be set up manually, or a saved preset.
is it possible to make this kind of sequence on the DM alone?
Aaron Müller not really. I mean you could probably get away with the repeating upper portion using the control sequencer routed to pitch but not the bass line as well.
@@ModernDevotion "It's in polyphonic mode, so I have a number of voices that can play at the same time. I'm not actually using the arp mode, I'm simply sending it bass notes and the melody notes with MIDI."
james carvalho right op asked if it was possible with DM only. Using an external midi sequencer would not technically count right?
@@ModernDevotion Yeah you're right hah.
Very nice!
like more the sound of the Roland ju06A not comparable
Very, very good
Loving it🙂
Wonderful sound. How many rack spaces does it require?
5U I believe

Soooo nice!
How many rack spaces does this take up?
5 I think
nice track!
Yay, 600th like. Awesome video.
Hello. Do you plan to sell deepmind presets? I want to buy your private patch.Best Regards.
Sorry it's not in the works right now
my experience w the deepmind was that the raw oscillators were weak and heavily relied on the effects. If your looking to make nice ambient pads this is for great for it but its not versatile otherwise honestly
sbmphr I’m planning on getting a rev 2, you can get a desktop version for around a thousand
How do you sequence this beast?
You could easily do this with a keystep. I think it’s a great sequencer for analog gear that you want to sequence like an old school step sequencer. It does CV out and midi for crying out loud! The sync options and everything are fantastic.
@@graxjpgI wonder how easier the keystep makes sequencing in comparison to doing it on the deepmind itself
@@jakeyboy2929 that sequencer is very cumbersome. i use it sometimes but the aroeggiator is more useful to me
How do you racked it ?
it comes with ears.
@@AiynZahevSounds ive just buy it and I finally understand xD omg im so stupid
DM 12 in a rack ? WT funk ? is this multitimbral ?
It's called Deepmind *12* and you have 12 diodes up top labelled voices, so I'd guess it is :)
No, it is not. Just one MIDI channel (program) at a time.
@@scoopicman You're right! I though he asked about it being polyphonic :D
@@Artek604 I figured that was what your were thinking. :>)
The 12D is rack mountable.
If you own a Behringer DeepMind 12 or 6 I re-created the original factory presets of a Juno-106 that you can load into it!
Here's the link to a video where you can hear them and the download link is in the bio!

Hey,
i have a problem. Even after calibrating my DeepMind12D completely it seems like some of the 12 voices are sounding a bit different than the others. Is that normal, maybe because its analog?
Thank you!
Is that on an INIT patch too?
@@AiynZahevSounds Yes...
now it's gone lol. If it happens again, i'll come back to you. What have you thought about it? Thank you!
@@AiynZahevSounds sorry. I think some voices still sounding a bit different, as if the filter were a bit more open on these voices than on the others. I'm using the default sound for testing.
Maybe the LFOs could be the reason? Their lights aren't flashing evenly when hitting the same key 12 times (for 12 voices). Sorry for not explaining it properly, i just don't have a clue what's the reason for the difference in sound between the 12 voices...
@@SINARTISTIX is the sound way off? Then contact Behringer. If it's just slightly, something not noticeble in a mix? Well, that's what people like with analogue
I'm still confused: Peak or Deepmind?
+J K
Peak. Although the Deepmind is very nice, Peak is the more versatile synth imo. Consider this: The DM12 has 25 faders plus 31 buttons, there are no controls for the FX on the front panel and neither for modulation assignment (just the amount for the filter from the LFO and envelope). The peak has 42 knobs plus 8 faders plus 30 buttons, it has double the number of controls than the DM12, and its oscillators guarantee that it will have a much broader sonic palette just from the front panel. It has more modulation amount controls just in the front panel: filter fm, osc mod from LFO and envelopes. And FX controls.
@@mattsmith1440 Deepmind sounds way better to me
@@randomaccess8540
I'd imagine you can get the Peak to sound like a Deepmind without much trouble, the other way around though would be problematic. Each to their own of course. The best solution as usual would just be to buy them both ;)
Difficult to say. I prefer the actual programming on the Deepmind, but the Peak has a very broad palette, especially now with the update. The peak also has a multimode filter. It depends very much on the kind of sounds you're going for too, though either one is pretty malleable. The Peak is also more than twice the price, I bought my Deepmind for $450!
I haven’t heard anything from Peak that sounds as warm and analog as the Juno-like sounds from Deepmind.. I think it’s not very easy to get Peak sounding like that.
dope!
Yes more DeepMind! If you make a bank for it, I will buy 😁
Toasttyy 2 banks is better
Gianfranco Carone ? Cryptic
Thanks, yes I'm definitely interested in doing some banks for this, it's a lovely synth to work with.
AiynZahevSounds I‘m very enthusiastic in programming fancy sounds with the deepmind, but I guess it’s only possible to create impressive patches with the internal fx possibilities. So I hope you will inspiring us with your talent to do this job even without or less fx support!
@@HOLODECK-MUSIC-PROJECT I think the fx will be useful for certain types of obviously effected patches, like but for general effects software will probably be better. I'm not crazy about the built in effects so far so I'll likely do most patches dry apart from the EQ.
Behringer fuck the market and roland and other will be furius and they making great synth cheap to :)
Hi, a tutorial to integrate to the DAW would be sexy af
They integrate the same as most hardware synths. You have a MIDI track and an Audio track for the input. You have an added choice of USB MIDI with the DM (USB on the DM is MIDI data only though, unfortunately no audio via USB) Then just route the stereo outputs of the DM to your mixer or audio interface inputs. Sadly you only get 1 stereo output and no audio input with the Deepmind, so you can't pipe audio through it to use it's internal effects like you can with some other synths but this is no biggie. This is an awesome synth for the money. The only thing i'm not overly keen on is the effects. They're 'ok'. But i run it dry and apply my fav VST effects in the DAW
Very cool sound design here! I love it.
Really tempted still to get the 12D over the normal 12, but built in keyboards look so cool. Decisions!
I bought 12D and now deeply regret not getting keyboard....if that helps? Because you've then lost the midi in😉
@sbmphr no, because DM has no sequencer, if I want to use a sequencer I have to use midi in to trigger it and if you have the keyboard version you can then make a simple midi loop, but if you don't you can't plug a keyboard and sequencer into it. It can be resolved by plugging keyboard into sequencer or midi splitters, but personally, although I love form factor of desk top, I think I should have bought keys.
@@InkyDaCaT im confused. Where did that sequence come from? If you use a controler would you not just have at the end of the chain?
@@colinwright4139 yes you can! But in my case, I have mpc and wanted to get DMs arp to trigger other stuff. And it can be done with a USB work around, but not with midi. Because you would need two midi ports on back of DM desk top, one to play a keyboard live and one to playback the midi you have just recorded? If that makes sense?
@@InkyDaCaT so, as a novice with no hardware, but a couple of conttollers, using various DAWs ( Acid Pro 8, Sonar) depenfing on mood, do I go desktop dm6 or 12 or JXDi/Korg? Just for my amusement. Play bass and guitar too? Thanks for the reply.
