Well said Paul! Many of us related to your experience but aren't eloquent enough to express it as clearly as you did. Thank you. And thanks to Cole and John as well!
I keep coming back to this channel over and over because this is not what everyone else is doing! The two of you is what photography needs more of... In the short time I have been watching and listening, the perspective of my own photography has changed. I lean more into my vision now than ever before and it excites me to pick up my camera! Thank you both for what you do! (even you Cole!)
You guys are certainly going against the grain and we're all benefiting from it, so much. Gosh, there's a lot of noise in the world. But I come to your channel and learn things of such tremendous value. Thank you!
I don’t think of what you guys offer as “permission,” but I will definitely call it “encouragement.” Encouragement to be the oddball. To do the thing that others aren’t. To prefer to shoot in a 2:1 aspect ratio during the day and skip the sunset. And to do it even when it doesn’t get the likes that yet another pretty sunset would.
I think there are.a few things that set your channel apart guys, the main one being your focus on individual vision, but I, and many of the others who keep coming back I'm sure, also like that you are not focused on gear, technique, genres etc, and that you keep the videos short. Cole, I have just started receiving your newsletter and it's a great read, thanks! You include the story behind the image and every now and again, I think it would be great if you and John (each) showcased 1 of your images and discussed, not the how, but the why or what this image triggers in you, or told a quick anecdote about the image. You already share so much personally, that I don't think this would be viewed as an indulgence. Cheers, and keep up the great work regards David

Jason you have supported us from day one! Thank you!
@ the word is “stalked”…. But we will call it support!
And you’re welcome!
So happy to hear this Jason. By recording these each week, I am focusing more and more on Vision and the Creative Process.
@@jasoneldridgephotography Okay, okay, stalked! Is that like a corn stalk?
@@thecoleandjohnshow7236now you’re just flattering me!

Ellen we so appreciate you!
And we all know what you mean when you say there's a lot of "noise" in the world! (just saying, John)

Yes, skip the sunset!!!
Up here where I live, sunset in the summer is after my bedtime anyway. 😆
The only thing worse than a sunset… Is a sunrise!
But it is interesting how many people use that word, and it confounds us. I do prefer the word encouragement.

A good idea... We have been thinking about sharing more images with stories.
I like this idea, thanks!
