Also I think the zombies are just genetically mutated rather than being dead because they can procreate, respond to all signs of being alive generally, and they’re not really rotting
that tracks. they seem to be the "alive, but infected" type rather than actually "undead" type
I mean ig the excuse for that would be like the zband thing, they could just cop out and say it stops the rotting process as well, but mutant makes more sense for sure
Zombies are more of immortal than dead or anything
Eliza displays the most common sense out of these movies, yet nobody ever seems to take her seriously. We don't even know what she was planning to do to Bucky and his cronies before Addison and Zed stopped her. It could have been entirely innocent.
Fun fact: back when I was a competitive dancer, I would often compete against the guy who played Bucky in this series! His studio's group and mine were sometimes in the same category. This is such a stage musical type movie, I actually love it. Makes me nostalgic for those dance competition days. *sigh*

@@Lyssa16 Awww haha, only from afar! I don't remember if I ever spoke to him, but he always seemed to be in a good mood at awards time, and he was as great a performer back then as he is in this movie!

Is it just me, but Bucky's actor really nailing being power drunk, better-than-you, bully actually well? This indeed is enjoyable cringle. I just watched this when seeing you guys doing this reaction just to catch up.
My niece made me sit down and watch this with her one day while I was babysitting, and I was pleasantly surprised by it. I did genuinely enjoy it, in all its cheesy glory.
I feel like Bucky is the best character just because the actor seems to be having a genuinely fun time with the role, and it's just fun to watch him perform! He's great.
I like that even though Bucky was hinting at outing Addison for her hair, he didnt. I'm glad they made it so she did it herself. And I like how the movie has a Bring It On vibe where cheerleading is their whole world? It made it fun for sure.
Also the whole time I watched these movies, I wanted Watermelon Sour Patch Kids because of the damn color scheme of the school LOL
Could not be more happy my little brother has forced me into watching these movies just so I can enjoy them with you guys!! Addison and Zed’s relationship definitely carries the series for me lol!

i’m pretty sure these aren’t dead type of zombies bc they were affected by the haze and smoke from the meltdown which became a genetic mutation which is why their kids are also zombies

I was on set for the third movie and lost my mind having my friends who were on the first and second films trying to explain the plot to me 😂 so excited to see you get through the rest of them and the natural progression of zombies, to wolves, to aliens 🤣
Steph! I think you said it perfectly. I moved to a really wealthy town when I was a teenager (my family wasn't). And I couldn't figure out why so many kids were so lost after high school having so much opportunity thrown at them. I realized later that a lot of people crumble under the high expectations of their parents. Still not the same as actual systemic disadvantages, but a fair observation for sure.
You guys just have such a nice vibe about you. I always love how you start your videos, it's like I've planned to meet my mates and arrived mid conversation and then been welcomed and we watch a movie and have a borderline therapy session 😂 Your videos are always funny and entertaining but also soothing and comforting 😊

Pep rally (speaking from a Texas high school) is for generally planned around football games or whatever the largest sport for season is (fall or spring) but all of the sports are represented and then Marching banc, cheer, color guard, choir, and student council would preform or do something. Also theatre would perform or talk if a show was coming up. Everyone got a time but it FOR football, unless it was a themed pep rally (senior, blacklight, red ribbon week, shattered dreams [fake car crash memorial], etc) or a general start of term one- does all of this make sense?
That’s one of the things I like about America. We have silly events like pep rally’s to waist time haha. Did you have battle of the sexes? In high school we did boys vs girls Pep rally’s. Super strange but fun. They would compete in dancing, creativity, etc. One year they threw toilet paper on us 😂
We also had random music events during lunch. Like students who had a band would perform or they would bring radio hosts.
@@larissa1770 We didn’t have battle of the sexes pep rallies but we did have certain stuco games that were. One time it was musical chairs and the dude literally pulled the chair out from under the girl that sat down and she ate floor- it was funny but looked like it hurt.
@@lpchambers3681 My school had to ban musical chairs because it kept getting violent, and one girl broke a teacher’s leg…
It happened like a year or two before I got to high school, so in student council meetings, it’s just kinda like the thing we don’t talk about until someone new asks, “What about musical chairs?” Then everyone who already got the run down on that makes eye contact.

While I love zombies, the 2 movie that follows just don’t really make sense. Kinda wish we didn’t have the angry/negative black/zombie girl

I agree a small win would’ve been better it probably would’ve made the sequels better. Instead of them adding a new race that Addison saves every movie. I wish it wasn’t white savior x3
I wish they just focused on the zombies for the metaphors instead of adding a new species every movie
The Evie Oddly wig reveal cut made me laugh so hard that was a great lip sync.

Fun fact, if I’m remembering correctly: the floors for the zombie dance party scene in BAMM are slightly bouncy so that is actually just the actor bouncing off of them. It wasn’t choreographed like that, he just did it and they thought it looked cool so kept doing it.
The scene where the all jump on their back you guys were the first people I’ve seen to actually see the giant trampoline they were dancing on

The girl who plays Addison (Meg Donnely) starred on American Housewife, which I recommend. Zed's actor (Milo Manheim) was a guest star for a few episodes and played a conniving asshole, and it was hard to get behind Zed for awhile haha
This trilogy is chaotic in the best way !

Pink Eye is, in fact, contagious, I got it once in my lifetime *knock on wood, and I had to quarantine. If I remember correctly, it's contagious the first 2-3 days after you get it. I got it from a music festival I was at because something shot directly in my eye, it went beyond my glasses. I was unfortunate, and the symptoms for it started showing/ forming while I was at a seminar I went to for work. I had no idea what it was at first and sat as far back from others as I possibly could, so hopefully, no one else ended up getting it. I thought I had something in my eye, so I got eye drops afterward and went home. I ended up getting other illnesses as well from the same event and had to go to the doctor, who told me it was pink eye. I got pink eye, sinusitis, pharyngitis, laryngitis, and bronchitis, as well as a busted lip and a cracked shoulder. I had to be out of work for 2 months and unfortunately got my dad sick as well, I know he at least got bronchitis, but I'm not sure what else he had because he had to go to the hospital for throwing out his back. He had to do lawn work because I was so sick, and I couldn't be outside with the medicines I was taking; they literally made me upchuck if I went outside in the sun even though I tried standing in the shade, it didn't help. Don't try to move heavy items by yourself is the moral of that story, and that's the summary of it XD I ended up bursting blood vessels in my eyes as well, so they filled up with blood, and I wore a beanie to keep my hair out of my face and out of my eye medication which blurred my vision when I used it. I looked so beautiful during this time in my life XD I took pictures of my eyes when all of this happened and put them on my Instagram because I'm weird and find stuff like that cool to look at/ look back on XD
On a more related note: This movie and Lemonaid Mouth are two of the newer Disney movies I actually really like; since I'm older, I don't really watch Disney anymore. but somehow I found these two and love them XD Also, the show Andi Mack they had I loved as well! I know you don't really do series on here but watching Andi Mack would be fantastic, even if you watched it on your own if you don't do it for the channel and just gave your overall thoughts about it. It was a groundbreaking show for Disney and made some milestones for Disney itself; I will not say what they were, though, because I don't like giving and/or receiving spoilers. So I wouldn't spoil anything for you either =^_^= But keep being awesome regardless

I love this trilogy and it’s probably my second favorite dcom after Lemonade Mouth, but when I first watched the movie I could only imagine what the government would do in real life 😂 this town would’ve been nuked so quickly if zombies were real, it reminds me of izombie where they have to try and convince the government not to kill them.

You guys have brightened my day and made me feel better and distract from the pain from a recent surgery I had earlier this week. Anyway, I was in the marching band at my high school and we did pep rallies during fall on every Friday until football season ended in late October/ early November whether our football team was playing at our school or another school. Also cheerleaders don’t wear their uniforms all day unless it was for a pep rally or something like a homecoming parade where we only had a half day of school. Anyway, I’m so glad you guys finally reacted to this and I hope you guys will react to the second and third movie too!
The acting is sooo disney. I just find Addison’s character weird, her perfection is ruined because of her white hair. 🤣 The dancing with the light stand had no background activity. Z put a strainer on the light but it did nothing special for the scene to feel special.

I know for my school in florida, our pep rallies would take place during school on a friday and then after school there would be the actual game. Pep rallies usually were for 2 going away games and 2 home games, with the last game being the one before homecoming! Mine were also divided by upperclass men and lowerclass men, so grades 9-10 and then 11-12. But that was just because my school was really big, i dont think thats a normal thing.
Because a few days ago was the 30th anniversary of Death Becomes Her, could you both please react to it?! A truly great underrated campy comedy movie. Would be awesome to see you watch and react to it!

Pep rallies in my school district in California were for big events like homecoming and for the performers, it usually takes up like half a school day because not everyone could fit in the auditorium so we did multiple performances. The sports teams of that season came out, cheer, marching band, and dance performed and the teachers would play games.

I love love loved this!!!! I've been dying for you guys to do this series. I can not wait for your reaction to the other two movies in this franchise. Since you guys love HSM please do Descendants since it is also directed by Kenny Ortega. I'd also love to see you guys react to more of the new remakes/renditions of old Disney classics since they help me decide if I want to watch them or not. Also more musicals such as Hairspray, Grease and the Sound of Music etc. I love you guys and cannot wait for more.

None of the schools I went to in the US had pep rallies usually. If they did it was only like 1 near homecoming. I went to majority black inner city schools and the 1 time I went to a suburb school they couldnt do pep rally’s anymore because someone threw a egg and it hit at staff member. They also couldn’t do senior pranks either because someone put orajel in brownies and that caused a lot of problems at one point.
I always saw the zombies as the disabled (mentally or physically) and the bands were meds we usually take, always seen as outcast and seen as unable to do anything

I honestly just got into the trilogy after the 3rd one came out a couple weeks ago. I actually think these are better than descendants and just wish I found this when I was younger coz now I’m 21. And will have no nostalgia
I feel like I’m the only person in the world who’s watched it but this movie reminds me a lot of the show star crossed. It deals with aliens instead of zombies but it’s so good. I know you guys only do movies but you should definitely watch it.
Oh my god I loved the show. I remember the showrunner had also announced what the plans going forward were supposed to be if they hadnt been canceled and it was insane
honestly unpopular opinion: the songs in the series are bops [especially from the second and third movie] but the storyline itself is just... sigh. i cnnt believe Kenny Ortega directed this.

Lol I literally just commented about this on A Cinderella Story 🤣... At least here in Texas, we had a pep rally every Friday for fill in the blank sport. Announcements, cheers, speeches skits etc. Half of us could have cared less, but you know, get out of class

I remember seeing this movie with my siblings on a whim and had low expectations. Plus with the misconception of people saying that DCOM went downhill. But my siblings and I was actually pleasantly surprised and found it quite enjoyable... and we're way out of the target audience range lmao
the glorification of oppression needs to stop. also the message on discrimination and segregation is completely lost when the movie's two main characters (and majority of the cast) are white. our history in the black community within america does not need to be romanticized in romance comedy musical.

The main couple are kind of cute and I kind of like the song they sing together in the basement. I also love the song the main girl sings towards the end about change. Can we also take a minute to appreciate the fact that she chose not to egg zombie property, risking her spot on the cheer squad (Her biggest dream), because she felt for the zombies in that moment. Not to mention her parents had spent probably her whole life teaching her to hate them. I know she struggled a bit with zombies after that for a while but clearly had a lot of empathy.
I also love the coach 🤣 And the douchey cousin is fun 😂

Lol I remembered the time we made this as a play for our performance arts class during 12th grade. And yes its a good kind of cringe.
I watched this kind of as a joke with my roommate back when it was pretty new... We were screeching and laughing bc of the cringe half of the time, but we enjoyed the movie in all its campiness so much we rejoiced when we found out it was going to be a trilogy.
I feel like as adults we enjoy it for different reasons than the target demographic, but still enjoy it nevertheless. I think a prime example is the character Bucky. As a kid, I'd probably dislike him for being kind of the "antagonist", same goes for Eliza for using her common sense and for being vary as she should be lol. As an adult I can see where Eliza is coming from, and Bucky? He is an icon, he is the moment, he is EVERYTHING. All that personality and for what???? I love Bucky, man.
Anyways, my point is that this movie clearly doesn't take itself too seriously and yet does a decent (read: not perfect) job at portraying an important message in a way that kids get it but also makes it fun for adults as well.

I get what this series was going for, but it never hit right for me. It's kind of racism lite.
They got some things right, like the sports metaphor. You're only worth something if you're winning/bringing in money.
But a lot of it was pretty shallow for me, they either needed to commit more, or go more campy with it.
Addison as the white savior literally spans all 3 movies and she doesn't seem to have any character growth. Usually she's always 'perfect' and on the right side, teaching other people lessons and not really learning anything herself. Her father was a zombie police officer, you'd think she'd have more propaganda/prejudices to get over even if she didn't think she had any originally. She's just not flawed in any way.
Bucky is amazing. He's my favorite because he's so self centered and probably the most realistic character.
You guys should watch Love Hard and Julie and the Phantoms (a 1 season series but the music in it is so good and it’s such a cute story!)
