I realise this is a bit late, but I'm about to put the 140 in my Sachs Madass, which had the electric start Lifan 120cc. I'm struggling with the wiring conversion. Did you make a video in regard to this? or have a schematic for the wiring?
I felt like they did to because I’ve ordered 7 years ago but in the receipt and before ordering it said it doesn’t include it but you can add it for more money. So not sure why it says that but either way made my day lol
These Piranha are not cheap priced. I wonder how good they really are? I would have to get the 4 valve model for those prices. A 2 valve is not worth it to me.
I have a 140yx engine and it's extremely hard to start. It doesn't turn on without using the gas but when i use it the bike kicks back like a horse. Also when i rev it idles stay kinda high for sometime but then decrease so much that it sounds like the engine is shutting off.
Hello. Very good video. Thank you for sharing. I just unboxed a new Piranha 140 semi auto with e start. I noticed weird head casting that seems to be purposely broken. I see the same piece on your motor at exactly 4:41 in your vid. The piece is just below the exhaust value to the right (looking at the motor from the front). At first I thought this was busted on shipping but close examination it is busted and painted over (likely from factory). Any idea why this is? Is this a concern? What about getting water up in there? Thank you sir.
That is a factory designed cooling air scoop that grabs air when you are moving and directs it over and around the hottest places of the cylinder head. This duct is connected, so the cooling air exits out the other side around the spark plug if you look closely. Shine a flashlight or blow some compressed air in the air scoop and see what I mean.
@@doubleg1328 thanks for the reply. Makes sense now. Just really weird that the factory wouldn’t cast the part with the area already open. Or if it has to be casted and removed after the fact the factory could have uses a tool like a Dremel to cut it nicely. Instead they open it up with blunt force like with a hammer. Well I won’t worry about it anymore. I guess that’s what you get from a Chinese crate engine. Thanks again.
@Andrew Bibo Yes, they likely use a sand core in the mold when pouring the aluminum to create the void and knock out the sand after the aluminum has cooled and solidified. These sand cores are imperfect, so some heads have a thin flashing wall in that air duct that simply needs to be tapped to remove it. Expectations for a mass-produced China engine is all. However, they are quite durable engines that will serve you well.
so I installed this motor on my frame I started it up just to make sure the wiring worked. I totally forgot to check this stuff. I would assume since I didn't ride it or even if I did I could still go in and adjust this stuff?
