Hello. Please guide if lumbar decompression surgery only is a long term solution for neural foraminal stenosis with radiculopathy symptoms and if stabilisation is not done what are the chances of the spine becoming unstable at same as well as other levels?
It depends really on the pathology. If there are signs of instability seen operatively on imaging, then stabilisation is required. If there are no signs of instability, only decompression can suffice.
