You are right. But i dont want to eat rice always. If i want 'Reverse Sweep Aches' i will tune to Reverse Sweep. If i want 'Flank Aches' i will tune to Flank. But i love both types of Aches. I dont want a one way Aches. That will be boring.
Sweep is for actual analysis and Flank is there for entertainment. Yes, you get great info on the Flank but it’s not strictly a podcast of just call of duty.
Can't really be upset with how OpTic played this weekend, would've liked more slaying against FaZe obviously but at the core OpTic are playing amazing fundamental COD
This, and they beat NY who were the other "teamwork/fundamental/nerd spots" team I feel people are breezing passed them beating NY/Toronto. They beat them online and everyone had a MILLION "testing maps" excuses. They beat them on LAN and everyone glances over the matches like it wasn't pretty clean 3-1s both time they played ultra/NY
You can be upset at 3/3 fuck up spawns went against OpTic- 2 faze players spawned behind OpTic while they were blockin in the hps- and dashy got the most tragic spawn on the control. 3/3 bad spawns for OpTic- also in gunfights while jumping off buildings OpTic lost 5/5 and faze won 6/6. Luck was 100% against og this weekend while playing some of the most fundamental cod ever. Game is terrible- also the mcw builds faze had are different from OpTic. Literally lost the even on shit gunsmith and TERRIBLE luck.

When you have Abezy going on a 9 Kill-Spree and then a 5 Spree right after to close out the first series and then Simp set the HP Kill-Spree Record at I believe 14? To start the Grand Finals series and set the tone. It's tough for any team to really compete when you have Faze shooting the way they were. Really felt like the Optic boys were fighting from the backfoot the whole series. Props to the Faze guys!
Ny definitely competed with them and they got outstayed. Skyz and kis were horrible almost reverse swept them

In response to Censor pointing out the problem with the point system: Why can't the league just use qualifying match as qualifying points for that particular major? The points you get for online qualifying are only used to set the seeding for the major. The points you earn on LAN at the major are the points that stay and used to determine who goes to the world championship.
CDL should pay u for fixing their format, that will make LAN more important than online to the players and community
Question for you guys (given we're on an enforced break due to this league's 'structure') - You talk a lot about the obvious issues with the CDL. What would you do to optimise the league in it's current franchise format? Assuming it's the same game and we can't change anything about the maps etc. I.e. how many events would you have, what format would qualifiers/pool play be, how would you further incorporate LANs, Challengers, Pro-Ams etc. I was going to say 'build your perfect league in the current economic climate' but I expect that would be a whole podcast. Keep up the great content guys!

Is Drazah a reincarnation of Aches? The last 3 seasons he is 12-2 on LAN while 2-0 in finals. He has eliminated OpTic from 9 tournaments which is second only to Patrick Price (11).
He wasn't the best player on there team like aches was though he's had God like teams aches made random teams and turned up beat optic
All you can can do is appreciate Aches. Right after Aches take on Faze playing like they are the best in the game, they began playing and acting as such. And we all see the result. Whether noticed or not, its Aches doing.

The thing abt optic is if they can pick up that slaying ability on LAN they will be insane. They’re doing everything else right except for the slaying, and they have the talent to turn that around. So if they are able to do that, they’ll at least take one event this year
Its more difficult to win this season. There are legitimate 4 teams that could win an event at any tournament. This year is fun.

I think we can all agree, whoever it was vs FaZe in the final, it would’ve been the same. I could only see maybe Nysl take a respawn bc of Sib + Hydra pop off but nah everyone else was either getting 4-0d or 4-1d like OpTic did.

As an Ultra fan, I like to see Simp doing well. He's clearly in top 3 right now with Scrappy of course.
I like the way Hydra, Pred and Kenny played this weekend. We have a core of top 5 players that can be considered #1 at any point.
Difference is scrappy and Hydra have to mega carry their team at times while simp carries his team but he also has 2 s tier teammate
Like what aches said with how badly optic was getting outstayed they still kept every map incredibly close especially to do that in the hard points shows how fundamentally solid they were which is an amazing sign imo faze is just a different beast now that simp is frying its even scarier
Last time I remember pre nades being used by a team well is thieves in vanguard and also nysl in that year for a bit.
The crazy thing about what censor said about Pred in taking accountability to do better next major is that today COD got updated and couple of friends already saw Pred playing Ranked in the new maps

Faze are clearly the better team but it always felt close. There were no walk over maps but it just always felt like they were a little ahead on rotation or just winning the trades. Although the head to head for optic/faze is heavily weighted to faze in this game, it’s not as big a gap as it looks

Rough start against faze but seriously let’s not act like Optic wasn’t running faze in the dirt the past 2 cods. I will say it’s a better showing that optic can clearly beat the top 4 outside of faze on LAN, they just gotta figure out how to get past faze. No different than any other top 4 team.

2 questions. It’s agreed that faze were slay dominant major 2 but optic played the best cod. If optic keep form and slay more do they step over faze? Also could this be the reason faze are consistent top 2 and not always number 1? Because they can bail out bad scenarios in kills but that’s not consistent

FYI optic was the one who started to veto Rio. They did against faze 2x, miami and i think ultra, but not 100% sure on the ultra matchup on lan.

It's a good question, but censor/aches over value their era over the others, so it's almost irrelevant to hear their response. If you asked them who'd win against their prime rosters they'd say themselves, if you ask them if those guys surpassed scump all time they will say yes. They can't keep their bias out of the question 😂
I think pred needs to play on the same pace as shotzzy otherwise they won’t keep up with faze. Optic definitely has the best chance to win a major compared to the other optic rosters. 100%
I think it’s a mixture of pred moving a bit faster and shotzy to slow down a bit. But to see optic and faze so close was an epic watch. who knows what will happen in future majors

I would love to see a team have a respawn team and SnD team, even if its as simple as 1 player different. If Afro is awful in respawn, try run your sub in maps 1,3 and 4. Not like the current way is working well anyways.

Yeah this weekend was nuts also want to point out I’m pretty sure no team has ever won the major after going 7-0(5-0) in qualifiers outside of maybe Caw faze did it once if I’m not mistaken. We went 5-0 back to back last season and couldn’t close the fcking sundays at each major both times as well so I kind of felt it would’ve been hard for us to win and if we did it would’ve been insane. Idk faze was just on another level from a killing perspective those guys just wouldn’t die and stayed going super fast. Couldn’t imagine it holds up but we shall see. OpTic has got to win atleast 1 thing this season 😅
I hate how Cuyler always seems to catch strays on his teams. He has always been good when he’s been allowed to play his way, the last 2 teams he’s been on he was put into a role that wasn’t his natural fit. He is more of a route runner/flank style player. And there’s been several series’ just in this major where it feels like he’s keeping his team in the game albeit 1v7 is incredibly difficult. My opinion, keep Huke, Abuzah moves to main AR, pick up a slower sub who plays a similar style to Pred/Simp. And get a solid Flex. Ideally your Flex is probably experienced to give you an experienced IGL. To me, Gunless could be good here but I won’t lie I haven’t watched challengers to see if he’s a Flex or main AR in this game.
Top 4 teams matches were beautiful to watch high level cod is amazing. Everyone else in the league should mix and match try to make the best squads possible cuz they playing for 5th all season.
Good win for Faze but realistically if pred plays good in the finals Optic win that easily. Every map was so close with pred/dashy playing kinda mid..
And in the GF map 1 when faze trolled at the end if we could’ve went on a killing spree as a team for the most part similar to what faze had been to doing us then we probably win that map. The slaying especially against faze is just non existent on a consistent level atleast. 😅

Simp and abezy had optic in a chokehold. Faze now 4-0 on LAN against optic this year, drazah really is the difference maker and clutches up when it matters. Most people had optic after their 7-0 online performance but just couldn’t clutch up.
Dashy just can’t gun drazah or Cellium. Embarrassing both lans against faze Kenny was way better than Dashy he needs help

Lmao no they can’t- what other matches have you watched them play besides this LAN? When have they placed top 5 at a major event the last 2 years? I hope coaches and GM’s have more sense than fans & hot take specialists whose predictions have zero consequences & say all sorts of BS to gain impressions. The only AR (actually flex) player that has been super consistent year after year in slaying & carrying teams to wins is DillonWrecks. The smg players on FC Black & Yeez (best performance on last years Champs team) are all far more proven than anyone on that team (Dak, 04, NickyD had his best performance in years & an outlier, not the norm for him).

"his controller was malfunctioning" is the biggest cope i have ever heard in my life. If these pros dont have at least 3 identical controllers... they are throwing.
And for anyone who is out here thinking that they have to break in the controllers and yada yada.... Hockey players have 2 sticks, 3 or more at higher levels, and they swap to their next stick instantly and pop off just the same as with the other one. if you have to practice with a rotation of controllers to "break them in", then do that. There is no excuses for a controller breaking or malfunctioning at the pro level. Unplug it and plug in a new one. They get them for free and they are all identical... they can also customize all 3 the exact same way. that's a cope excuse.
Also, if you plug in your second controller and cannot "play right" because it feels "different"... thats one you. As someone who had 3-4 hockey sticks and 4 sets of blades (for my skates) for years... you get the same base and customize them all the same. Then you just use them on a rotation. If one of them feels "weird", you simply replace it, adjust it, or use it more in practice until that goes away. At the pro level if you cant use a back up piece of equipment for your sport... i dont know what to tell you.
Breaking in the sticks and setting your deadzones is a real thing. Sometimes they don’t always remember the exact deadzones they set if they need to replace it mid match on stage like with diamondcon.
@@DrTae-jy8pu They are getting paid to play professionally, this isnt even up for debate. Like i said, if you do not have 2 or 3 perfect controllers... you are being lazy. Its not a money issue, Its an effort issue.
My comparison is the blades for my skates when i played high level hockey. I am someone who is very particular and needs everything to feel EXACTLY the same. If it doesnt, i am insta checked and have to battle back into a good mental. So how did i combat this? I got 4-6 pairs of blades. I got them sharpened only by one particular person, using his specific machine. From 12 years old to 22 i got all my blades sharpened by one guy. I would ship him 3 pairs of blades and keep 3 when i was playing at the highest level. I had 4 sets (which i worked for the money to purchase) from 12-18.
How do you make them all feel the same? Effort. I would have him measure them all and sharpens them all to the same height. If one blade had issue that required him to take more off to sharpen... they all get more off and get matched. The comparison for a controller would be if one stick needs to be replaced, you replaced all the sticks on all 3 controllers. Of course this requires time, effort, and attention to detail. You need to rotate your controllers, sticks or blades consistently to ensure they all feel as similar as possible. This is a pick up game at a local rink or an 8 match against semi pro's for nickels.... they are in a league that cost 10's of millions to buy a franchise spot in and they are getting paid hundreds of thousands to be at their best... learning how to cycle 3 controllers and multiple earbuds should happen without a second thought.
My point is, he is a professional player.
Your dead zones are saved in your settings...not on the controller, unless I'm faded? And also, breaking in sticks is also a cop out

@@OrdinarySense Btw I agree that a new and unbroken controller is not going to make or break a match. But like you said it can slightly mess with a players mental. The annoying thing is the way the CDL sometimes goes about situations where they’ll just give a player a new controller and not even give them a chance to break it in. At the end of the day it’s a professional league and everyone knows there’s a chance the controller can break, so have backups, but don’t use that as a way to cope for your loss.

They beat every team convincingly besides the champions, this shottzy can't compete on LAN cheese is unnecessary he has 3 2nds and a 3rd on LAN the last 2 titles. Now if you said you're not sure he can't shoot like faze was in finals, then maybe that's a fair critique
@@mkwsoxfan you can’t deny the huge difference between the two. The team kinda revolves around the plays ant makes so when he isn’t able to make those plays it shows. You see it with the eye test and on paper.
@@joey9426 shottzy is a 0.9-0.95 player always has been, the fact that he sometimes drops carry series online shouldn't distract you from that fact. Much like cleanX he doesn't need a 1.3 to be an effective LAN player. The "eye test" is an irrelevant aches-ism everyone in the league/talent/pros recognizes his impact. I can and I will deny this notion that there's a dramatic fall off between him online and LAN. Attach had the top LAN kd and I'm sure it was 0.3 or 0.4 higher than shottzys who would you rather be the guy who got 8th or the guy who got 2nd lol

"Bad" might even be an exaggeration they got heavily outslayed, but every HP was still less than 50pt games
Did it not feel like NY/Faze had highcal/high grain while shooting vs optic. This isnt a conspiracy theory, it just felt like those guys were SHOOTING on sunday. Every wall bang, every clutch gunfight, every crucial fight on a head glitch that decided maps. If im optic i dont feel that terrible, obviously 2nd sucks ass, but you came out playing kinda bad and getting heavily outslayed on sunday, and still looked to be in every map down to the final rotations 🤷♂️.
