This is one of the best episodes, Kramer revealing a hidden side of himself. He's like a Rasputin. A similar episode that revealed something about Newman was the dognapping, also a very good episode.

MIchael Richards really was the linchpin of this great sitcom: he's positively comically brilliant.
I wouldn’t call him *_the_* linchpin.. all four of the main character actors played vital roles that contributed to the success of the show.
Honestly, one of my favorite moments on the show is how Jerry is slowly nodding while she asks if Kramer could be her consultant. Jerry is resigned to be doomed.

every pageant contestant in the world since beginning of time, always tend to simplify things :) and almost none of them do anything about it once they win :))
This scene later parodied in another episode with George and his protégé. ( the risk management episode)...Miss Rhode Island has similar but more tempered enthusiasm than George's protégé.

OMG, watching this 5 minute clip reminds me for the 1000th time how incredibly creative Jerry, David and team were. I mean, break it down- look at the comments from each person. Consistently inconsistent in terms of reactions, e.g. At 1:20, Jerry asks Kramer to be a chaperone for a Ms. America contestant, and Kramer responds, "Which state?" This series was just beyond belief in so many ways. I doubt any comedy series ever tops their results.
