All that was automatically set up in my Galaxy S10e, I didn´t have to add any APN, and group messages work fine with the Samsung messages app, same for my wife´s S20 FE5G. Thanks for the great videos.
my phone still had the apn settings for tmobile when I was on them before so when I put my sim card in everything just worked. I will do this anyway lol because it wouldn't hurt. Thanks
Great Video! I noticed that I was still having an issue with my Galaxy 10e hooking up for calls (no bars). I had to Go into "Network Mode" and adjust it to "3G/2G" instead of "LTE/3G/2G"... But it does say 4G on the top of my phone now.
I've got a 5G S20+ and I was about to pull the plug on Mint and Android until I saw your comment! Definitely not a fan of being locked to 3G/2G, but at least it's working now.
Great video, We liked it very much. Thumbs UP. No music, etc. Just received our new phones. One new Galaxy S9 and one new Galaxy S10 on Mint Mobile. However, on the previous video with Galaxy S9 and iPhone, it was said that it was not necessary to enter in the APN into the Galaxy. Picture messaging, group messaging sent from the iPhone to S 9 without a problem. If it is necessary to enter the Mint APN into the S9 & S10, then it is something, I/we have to do on our devices. Thanks. Cheers. 7-7-2019.
Thank you this worked!! Switched from metro but had to unlock it first(i watched another video on RUclips) then did this process.worked like a charm thank you!!
Do you have to set up every Android phone?Or maybe just set up when your phone doesn’t work?My meaning is can some Android phone set by themself?Thank you
I'm on a google pixel 4a. Initially mine automatically went to T-Mobile settings, I forced it to the Mint APN (Ultra) and whenever I would leave the house (wifi) I wouldn't have any mobile data for a long while then it mysteriously kicks in. Happened a few times when I REALLY needed it. Today I went about figuring it out. I reset my network settings and just went with what was default (the t-mobile) ones, made sure my wi-fi was off and it connected immediately to LTE. Hope that helps someone else if they are having issues with the mobile data working with this Mint APN.
Yeah I'm on a pixel 4a and noticed i would need to switch back to TMobile apn in order for MMS to work. I would try to send a pic or vid via messaging but it wouldn't send until I changed back to TMobile apn.
I got the trail card yesterday, tried to get it set up but nothing. I can't get connected to the network. My Wi-Fi is fine and everything, but nothing seems to work. I was just on the phone with customer service for 30 minutes and still nothing. Not sure what I'm doing wrong
I have went through this process to setup the APN several times now. I hit the save button and everytime it never saves anything! Why is it doing this?!.
The only way I can get the Mint APN to save is to use the default MNC. Mint wants you to use 260 but my default is 240. I can input all the other info and it will create the Mint APN as long as I use 240. Does your MNC have the same default?
That stuff you did at the end of installing an app from Google Play Store should not be necessary. That makes look like the APN settings you entered did not work, and either Android needs to be fixed, or MINT needs to fix something. I thought that one day, I might like to try MINT Mobile, but now after seeing what you showed, I not so sure. Any updated report anyone has would be nice to see.
Why does your video recommended settings not exactly match the setting shown in the video description? Egads this is driving me nuts!should the authentication setting be “none” or should it be “PAP”? I will keep chipping away on this APN issue.
I can't seem to get group messaging to work. When I add a contact to send a text to, I'm unable to add another contact. I can make a group and name it and then send text and/or pic. It had me change a setting under messaging when I tried to send a picture. Stetson, if you could show us the features and how to use messenger.. that would be great. I think the features have changed and updated. I'm running Android 9.
Idk if you still need an answer to this, but that number must match your SIM card. Cards issued before 2022 are 260, and cards issued after are 240. If you pop your sim card out and look at the number along the bottom, you should see those digits appear in the number. Either 260 or 240.
Do you have any Information on US Mobile I can enter apn settings and it will work on my galaxy s24 ultra but as soon as I reboot it deletes everything and no service
FYI: Some Android phones have tabs different than the Connections you show. My Motorola needs you to choose Network & Internet; Mobile Network; scroll down for Advanced; Access Point Names.
Only need to do this if you have messaging or data issues. Often Mint is able to send APN configuration settings directly to your device, so you typically don’t need to do anything.
it's Sept 2022, Mintmobile is all over the ads, and it doesn't work for my huawei which unlocked and worked OK on Tmobile, they messed up all those APN, support doesn't understand what is going on
Indeed. You need to use 240. Even Mint's website says to use 260 but it is wrong. Also, in my phone, I had to set my preferred network type to 5G/LTE. Otherwise it would always hop on 2G.
How about updating this video? These are not the right settings for new phones. It's in the forum but ignored here. PS. This is slightly off topic but unless you sign up for unlimted data you might run into a problem. Some cell phones run data collecting services in the background- without your consent. If you go for a drive your phone will get hot. Turn off all data collecting and wifi features. Leave it on and you can go through about a gig of data an hour.
@@PDavis-iq7bj On this phone, the same way you turn off wifi. But there is a Catch 22 to this. it also means that you will not get text messages. I am not sure why they tie text messages into data collecting when someone without a data plan gets texts just fine.
My trial Sim came with 250mb data, 250 minutes and texts. I just completed my trial today as I have been testing the last 5 days. No complaints for me.
