"Megalo Strike Back" Remix [Light MetaS] (Undertale/Toby Fox/Earthbound: I Miss You)

How are all of you? This remix was my idea. A little backstory for those of you unaware. Megalo Strike back, from what I gather, wasn’t directly connected to the Undertale series in any official circumstances. It was a track made by the creator of Undertale, Toby fox, and uses a lot of the same sound samples as other Undertale tracks. I believe it was originally made for a fan-made earthbound album of original tracks.
People started to associate the track with the character Chara. I believe this is due to the amazing fan animation depicting the fight between Chara and Asriel that appeared on RUclips.

The way that this remix references the other Genocide songs, and the general composition itself...

Thanks for putting “Toby Fox and Earthbound I Miss You” in the title to clarify that Megalo Strike Back isn’t officially/entirely from Undertale, but is still a very cool “could be” battle theme for Chara. It’s incredibly satisfying to hear Toby Fox/Undertale music in your style again.

Honestly, Light Metas probably used the accordion because he used it before in his pokemon lake trio remix and thought "I paid for the whole accordion so I'm going to use the whole accordion."

probably my favorite rendition of megalo strike back, i been relistening for months now. the way the last bit at 4:11 throughout the rest feels so overwhelming it's extremely satisfying, ESPECIALLY 4:22, i love the whole thing.

Back here again. Still listening to it regularly there and there. And like.. god.. the efforts put into this are something else. The many melodys referencing the other battle themes. How intense it gets near the end only for it to become far more peaceful afterwards.. this isn't just a megalo strike back remix. It's literally the resume of anyone's undertale phase. I can't help but be brought back with nostalgia to 2017-2018 my early days as an undertale fan.. god this remix just goes hard..

Fun facts about the creation process of this. I DM'd Light a bunch of shit like he says. "You idiot," "But the Earth Refused to Die," "Battle Against a True Hero," Power of NEO," even a few Deltarune songs that I thought would fit like "Imminent Death" and "Vs. Susie." The sound effects I just downloaded off of The Sounds Resource and from there I sent a few Lights way and he seemed to dig it.
I love it when remixes use sound effects from the games there apart of because they are about an integral part of the gaming experience as the characters, story, and of course music that accompanies them. As for no more deals I literally just caught Merg's first video on it in my recommended and when Light needed fan games I thought this one would fit the job.
As for the remix itself. Perfect, Scottish Chara at 1:29-1:51 is an great choice of instruments and the mus_sfx_eyeflash.wav I sent paid off well. "Battle Against a True Hero" is my favorite song in the Genocide route so seeing an extended segment on it was legendary. Can I just say the footage used besides the stuff from "No More Deals," Undyne the Undying, and Sans fight is perfect for a Genocide remix. Just a bunch of monster civilians dying perfect for a remix of this depraved nature. Glitch's art came out wonderfully specially the small animated bits. Last thing I want to touch on is near the end were samples of the intro to Megalo are used. Nice touch.
Great remix overall happy to always give an input in the creation process and see how it adds to the remix.

Why does Chara have two stripes on their clothes?
Funny story, I actually played Undertale once but only went Pacifist. Never went the Genocide route because I guess I just wasn't mentally prepared for it, especially if Omega Flowey was anything to go by.
But holy fuck this is golden off of what I do know about the Genocide route and Chara's context. Apart from the track itself, Glitch once again delivered on the art, the samples and the motifs from the Genocide tracks are excellent (LOVE the unique spin on Megalovania for its fitting appearance), and the EDITING. The EDITING is crazy good. I am scatterbrained from watching it and I don't have words apart from another quality remix.

Everybody's talking about the UT Genocide leitmotifs, and here I am over in the corner geeking about the Giygas/Porky Means Business leitmotif at the beginning. Makes think of Chara turning into a Giygas-esc....or better yet Unused Mother 3 boss-esc nightmare fuel background of horror at the end of Deltarune when they've taken total control of the Deltarune world from Gaster and Sans...and brining back all your dead friends to make you fight them in succession in their final boss fight. Great work, you have a sub from me!

The leitmotifs I heard were Megalovania, Battle against a true hero and maybe a bit of bonetrousle. Put any I missed in the replies
Let's be honest, the fanbase gives Chara far more shit than they deserve and Frisk not enough shit. Chara is definitely not the best, but given WHY they came to Mt ebott in the first place, can't really blame them. And Chara could have easily taken Asriel's soul for their plan, but didn't. Instead, they offed themselves so Asriel could become the being with a soul of a monster and human. Chara cares for Monsterkind very deeply, but with so much put on their shoulders, this drove them to an extreme they most likely regretted. And then Frisk came along and began messing with the timelines, driving Chara to madness and to take another extreme to try to stop Frisk from harming everyone else, becoming what is essentially a demon and taking Frisk's soul and body for themself. I mean, imagine how many genocide routes Chara had to witness, seeing their family die over and over and them having no way to stop it. Chara is portrayed as a bad guy to most of the fandom when in reality, they are just a kid that can be driven to madness by those who do the Genocide Route. People blame the route on Chara, but it was ALL Frisk's choice.
to be fair Chara's only appears in the flesh in Genocide Route, but i do believe Chara's character is meant to be as fluid as our own vision of Undertale, a character who could become a culmination of all evil or a character who will rest knowing that the people they cared about are freed

@@sora654able1 yeah, Chara if anything is purely a consequence of our actions as a player, whatever evil Chara can be is purely out of player's curiosity on going for a full Genocide Route and not inherent to Chara's character

why did you put undertale in the title, the only relationship with undertale this has is just the instruments from megalovania (which also come from earthbound)
this was also made when deltarune wasn't even a concept (toby got the idea for deltarune in april 2012)
