- Learn about Billy Frank Jr., the revered Nisqually tribal leader known for his passionate advocacy for treaty fishing rights. His tireless efforts culminated in the landmark Boldt Decision, which affirmed the rights of Northwest tribes to fish in their "usual and accustomed grounds." Today, his son, Willie Frank III, is leading the effort in honoring his father's legacy with the creation of a new statue of Billy Frank Jr. that will be installed in National Statuary Hall.
