    I just realized he was wearing a mask the whole time so I didn’t see his face until the end and saw he had facial hair. It felt like he grew all his facial hair during his shift and aged significantly in just one shift 🤣

    For those who are concerned with sterility part, that is not surgery hence total protocol of sterilisation is not required as it is an intervention only

    • @whynotjustmyusername
      @whynotjustmyusername 2 года назад +16

      Bullshit. If it's sterile, it's sterile. End of story. An intervention, even just putting in a central line, requires the same hygiene as a full fledged operation.

    • @KIRA-wl6oc
      @KIRA-wl6oc 2 года назад +15

      @@whynotjustmyusername if you don't know about medical field , then just keep your mouth shut, what about sterility during severe burn or severe hypotension requiring central line, that time priority is always intervention above sterility

    • @whynotjustmyusername
      @whynotjustmyusername 2 года назад +6

      @@KIRA-wl6oc In severe burns, hygiene is especially important. There is a good reason there are only so few burn centers: Their ICU rooms are cleaner than operating rooms.
      Do we have an emergent intervention in this video? No.
      If hypotension is so severe, then go for a peripheral line or intraosseous access (as recommended in all relevant life support guidelines). If a central line is the only thing you can establish, then a central line placed under imperfect sterile conditions must be removed at the earliest opportunity.
      Finally: Your original argument wasn't that in emergency interventions sterility was secondary. Your argument was that in ALL interventions sterility is secondary, which is bullshit.
      To put it in your words:
      If you don't know about emergency and intensive care medicine, keep your fingers off your keyboard.

    • @KIRA-wl6oc
      @KIRA-wl6oc 2 года назад +3

      @@whynotjustmyusername do some emergency intervention hands on , then argue with words

    • @whynotjustmyusername
      @whynotjustmyusername 2 года назад +5

      @@KIRA-wl6oc Step 1: Already done. Step 2: "total protocol of sterilisation is not required as it is an intervention only" - Wrong - interventions require the same degree of sterility (as said in my initial comment). Done.
      I haven't even mentioned that nobody is sterilising anything in that room. Sterilisation is the process of rendering the equipment germ-free, e.g. through autoclaving, irradiating etc. All you do in the OR or lab is disinfecting the skin of your operating site and not contaminating your sterile equipment. Sterilisation will certainly not happen anywhere close to the patient.
      Urgency vs. sterility has nothing to do with surgery or intervention. You can just as well slash open a trauma patient with a ruptured Truncus coeliacus. It undoubtedly is a full blown surgery, yet sterility would be secondary in that case as well. If I do a clamshell thoracotomy in a traumatic cardiac arrest, I will straight up throw sterility out of the window, despite it being surgery, not an intervention.
      Your argument is bullshit, you can stop trying to wind yourself out of it by throwing different (and admittedly less wrong) arguments after it.

      I'm in medical school. Just understand that it's a huge commitment especially if you're in the US. Medicine takes up a lot of your free time during your youth and it's a lifelong learning process. It takes more commitment than 99% of jobs, which is why it's regarded so highly. It's not for everyone and there's no shame in it. I myself wish I could go back in time and choose another path. Best of luck with whatever you decide to do my friend.
