Hello, yes if a programmed chip is inside. Without a chip, the key can manually lock/unlock the doors.

No way to transfer the old blade over? Hate to trash the old blade and spend $30 to cut another while the old one is perfectly fine.

Hello, it's not feasible because the blade is molded into the plastic. You could hack it apart and remove the blade off the OEM key but it will not fit the same anymore
