This was made before Pep's press conference, where Pep said "we'll see" if Haaland is fit or not.
I don’t understand why we can’t be patient with haaland. He still scores goals and needs time. Stick with him blues he’s world class
no way bro no way.He got bad passing and we cant take this risk for this semi final.
if it was the beginning of the season, yeah sure give him some more time he could still get better. But we are almost at the end of the season, now we have only got 6 league games left. we do not have any more time to tolerate Haaland especially when Alvarez played better than Haaland in many games this season. We are at the stage where every bloody point, hell even every goal we score counts because of the possibility of finishing the league at same points with arsenal and/or liverpool and losing the league by Goal Difference.
I distinctly remember Alvarez sealing a lovely win over Chelsea at the end of last season, would like to see him start whether Haaland is fit or not. It’s not the end of the world if Erling doesn’t win the golden boot. Next season he will bounce back and has so much ahead of him. Maybe stick Nunes on Palmer and take him out 🤫
cant stand with that mark goldbridge guy…
Yep, love how people like him are gatekeepers to who should be a fan. Would any of them be fans of United if it wasn’t such a dominant team in the past?
Brent di cesare
So Mark Goldbridge is a pseudonym? 😂😂, Brent di Caesar from Nottingham, Supports Man Utd & his whole season rests on City loosing 😂 🤣
last season Haaland was getting passes from Gundogan, mahrez, Grealish and KDB .... This season Doku is playing more than Grealish, Foden never passes to Haaland and is playing more than KDB, Mahrez left and Gundo left as well so he is an isolated figure but managed to get 30 goals.
Tomorrow, Bobb, Alvarez and Foden have an opportunity to win the game for City while Haaland and KDB rest and recover.
Johnny, these ungrateful City fans must allow rivals to behave the way they are behaving, support Haaland, pray for him to be more confident and clinical in the area that he needs to be, I pray Haaland will end the season successful ❤
To even question Halland's capability as a striker is insane 😂 some fans r extremely emotional 😅
We wouldn't have won some of the games this season if it wasn't for Halland
It's amazing how one bad season can change all the fans' perspective of a player. If Haaland is injured, no, but if no, yes. Destroying his confidence after the Madrid game is the last thing we should be doing. I know we've said this a lot, but this is the point where I think he'll finally see his form and improve. Even Henry said it. Also, people fail to realize Alvarez has 3 goal contributions in his last 14 games.
As long as Rodri play we should be safe😰
Heads up city! Let’s go! Still history making :)
Those city fans that are saying we should sell haaland. Don't bother supporting city. Guys got talent. Yeah he's poor with the chances he missed but going to an extreme is just no. Don't forget he broke records in our club
I don't think we should sell him but he just looks out of place I feel sorry for him
@haidrow4008 yeah I know.
@@haidrow4008Yeah, City system makes him look average in everything other than goalscoring, when he's really not.
@@lewish_1476What 😂
So fans aren't allowed to voice their opinion then.
Behave yourself. 😂
@TheCrazyBanana. Well whenever I voice my opinion and people try and start a war.
Manchester City 2-0 Chelsea
It's the most stupid thing ever, he's the most important striker playing football, he's not getting the supply, can you imagine a sane feeding him, he puts them away when he gets a chance
Correct
Rico Lewis, Alvarez should be fresh. Don’t see why we wouldn’t start them. 2 days rest between games is pitiful at the best of times, never mind with extra time in a massive game at the tail end of a season. Would rather have a fresh Alvarez than a flagging Haaland. And risk injuries. Akanji was basically box to box v Madrid, playing 2 positions. So maybe even Nunes etc. But yeah it does make me weary of This game. Gonna be tough.
I'm going to the game tomorrow, I'm looking forward to it because no team bounces back like a pep team, come on the blues
Re: PALMER - totally agree with you that he made the decision to leave. Just hope that he 'goaled' himself out against Everton. But I expect Pep to put someone like Ake (fully rested) on him man-to-man on Saturday.
. . .
Re: HAALAND, there may be some underlying issues at play. Questions arise about the full recovery of his foot, especially considering Pep's claim that he requested to be substituted against Madrid.
Looking ahead, City faces the critical decision of how best to integrate Haaland into the team for the next season. This season, Haaland has often been left with limited support, particularly in matches where KdB is absent or not performing at his peak.
Agree Haaland is still learning, and has to improve his movement, control as well as heading. But think that the addition of another passing threat like Paqueta this summer could significantly improve opportunities for Haaland. As a duel passing threat with KdB could pose a formidable challenge for opposing defences, creating more space for Haaland to excel.
Bottom line: we have all seen what a fully fit and in-form Haaland can deliver - an absolute beast of a goal machine.
Perhaps part of the issue around the current negativity from 'some fans' lies in the exceptionally high standard he set in his debut season, spoiling us with cheat code level of goals. Keep the faith Blues !
. . .
Re: LINEUP - my predicted starting XI for tomorrow:
- Think we have to rest Walker, KdB and Dias after Madrid.
- Wished we could rest Rodri as well...
- Am also going with Doku and Bobb, but switching them over to encourage their respective natural crossing abilities
Ortega
Lewis - Akanji - Stones - Ake
Kovacic - Rodri - Foden
Doku - Haaland - Bobb
But I think Pep may well start Alvarez (if Haaland is carrying a niggle), and keep Doku left and Bobb right.
Either way, I think this could be another real nailbiter against a confident and well rested Chelsea, with the underlying worry of an in-form Palmer (or even Sterling) looking to prove a point.
I just hope that we avoid getting DRAWN into another end-to-end crazy game AT ALL COSTS (like our 4-4 at Stamford Bridge), as that won't be playing to our strengths - and after our efforts on Wednesday it would be a killer at a warm Wembley..!
Haaland and City have set the bar too high. Haaland's and City's numbers are abnormal. There are different criteria for them than for other players and clubs. What is a crisis for Haaland and City, would be the greatest success for others.
One freak season
Let's get behind the lad because he's going to smash it very soon, hope it's tomorrow
In hindsight Haaland and Alvarez could have been rotated more. Haaland's play and injury this season has much to do with fatigue after last season and extra sensitivity because of his size and his explosive pattern of movement. But much of the competition fans create between them is tiresome. Alvarez is a good player, but too much weight is put on him winning the WC with Messi. He's not a main man, but more of a shadow striker. Like Haaland he's struggled with his finishing this season. The argument of him contributing more in the build up also seems strange when a problem for City in big games like the one against Real Madrid, is too much build up and too little counter attacking.
Personally I don't think Harry Kane would be the be all end all for current City. This season he's been completely shut out by the likes of Fribourg or Mainz, I can't remember the exact teams, but similar ones to those. He's been criticized for having games where he's been completely anonymous with fewer touches than a keeper. He has also been criticized for being anonymous in big games his whole career. I'm not hating on Kane or defending Haaland. It just sounded to me like you were saying Kane doesn't have at least some of the same problems.
Nothing wrong with Haaland,he is still a prolific striker for us.His main ball suppliers KDB&Grealish was on&off the field due to injuries this season...that's why the slump in Haaland's goal scoring.
Cole wanted to go for a good while. The lad wanted to play every week and city couldn't guarantee that.Great fit for him and Chelsea, hes standing out by a mile because they are average at best and cole is a very talented lad.
Teams like Arsenal, Real Madrid achieved their aims by packing their penalty area with their entire team and City need to tweak their play accordingly. We need dribblers to create chances (like Doku), rather than pass the ball sideways across the edge of the penalty.
Haaland excels when the opposition is drawn to the half way line, but struggles when in a packed penalty area.
Great Preview! Come on CITY!
🔵 ORTEGA --- LEWIS, STONES, DIAS, AKE --- KOVACIC, NUNES --- DOKU, FODEN, GREALISH --- ALVAREZ 🔵
Pep knows best i believe.
How you doing mate? Are you able to do a watch along Tommrow?
City were beaten by Madrid in extraordinary circumstances 2 seasons ago but came back to win the PL. They can do that again.
Excellent preview as always mate, and yeah I totally agree on the Haaland conversation, people have blown it way out of proportion, we absolutely have to back the lad, scored about 84 goals in 90 odd games, outside of these world numbers! As for Cole Palmer I don't regret him leaving, he wouldn't have got the game time needed to have reached these heights so quickly, it's as simple as that, and if Cole had stayed the emergence of Oscar Bobb would've been surpressed, so I don't feel any regret at all. I have enough belief in the lads that they'll bounce back for adversity today against Chelsea, I'll go typical city 3-1 (no pun intended 😅), me and some family are spending the weekend at center parcs, luckily they have BBC in the log cabin 😂 loving the content as usual mate and keep it up!! 👊💙
Football is all about opinions.
If someone thinks Haaland played fantastic that's their opinion. If someone thinks Haaland was poor again that's their opinion.
It's all about opinions. We all see things differently.
Without having different opinions then the comment section would be just people agreeing with each other. How boring that would be then. 😴
When Haaland came off against Madrid the game became more even and Doku’s initial success was neutralized.
Palmer has scored the same amount becuase of the differing styles of the teams. If Palmer was playing every week at City then he too would be found out and shut out, such is the trademark 'low block' of the opposition. Haaland would score more if he was playing for a club that would play on the break. He needs to adapt again but that's just the way it it. His work rate is outstanding. Sometimes he has 3 defenders around him, plus because he's a big fella, the shirt pulling and arm pulling against him is ignored by a lot of refs.

Excellent tactical analysis.
Good starting XI. But, I would go with Dias-Ake (center), Guardiol-Wlaker (full backs), and Doku-Grealish pair on the wings. Rodri may have to be replaced after 60' with Nunes.
All I which holland to work on holding the ball and be aggressive against center back ibra Diego costa did
I just hope we win mate. I am worried about this match. But can we give Alvarez a chance and then bring Haaland around the 70th if need be
top preview
Come on blues really need this today 💙
City 4
Chelski 1
Ive got a feeling we are going to lose this... the team just doesn't feel on the ball..!
Tbh I’m over halaand he is not a city type player
Doku is poor he’s only had two influential games since he’s been here his end product is none existent and same can be said of Grealish. Our wide play is nowhere near good enough. Haaland needs better quality and quicker balls we don’t get to the by line and cut it back which strikers thrive on. Give him the quality and he will score.
Box clever, cover the long ball and we should be ok
We need to be taking little risks if we r in knockout games. And we have a beast haaland, we can take some risk and pass the ball to haaland. Has pep forgotten, that guy can score a goal, he needs a ball though.
Give Haaland a chance till the end of season at least He can score goals for sure plus he occupies opponents and also open chances for others.
Cole wanted to go o. Lone not sold..he as proved he's a very good player
.no respect from you mate i am a life long city fan 70 yrs old so never call a player from 7 yrs old to 21. 14 yrs at city have redpect mate
yes she should
Heard mark goldbridge say city have bottled it 😳 wow.
Mark is a sausage, take no notice.
pep has to teach the lads some dark arts of the game to score goals against low blocks; quick combination passes in the box to confuse the opponents, and our guys must learn the art of falling down to solicit penalties from the ref. the more penalties we get the sooner the opponents will learn to press us higher up the pitch. we will destroy them from there on.
Palmer is better than foden. Foden has zero vision. Personally I think pep knew that but he likes players that listen to him and only him which foden does and Palmer doesn’t seem like he’s that type of player and seems like he prefers freedom on the pitch.
6:04 on your point about haaland going to the back post all the time. That’s pep’s doing. He was changing it up all season LAST season but this season he’s going back post all the time to draw defenders and open space for shorter players but they can’t get there and can’t finish for shit. It’s so annoying
Why did Pep sign Phillips, Nunes Makes no sence, Haaland just don’t seem to fit the way we play. Palmer gave us a life line in the Super Cup & should have played in Mahrez position at least he wanted more game time & now has it.
Chelski play a different style of football to city so that probably suits palmer.
I take it the laringitis has cleared up then ;) ?
City academy produce a good younger player but they(player) don't appreciate what our organization done for them😂😂@come on CITY❤
Play him, we bought him to make a difference in these type of games, but if we do play him please lads get those balls to him quicker, play the odd ball over the top when its on, a little more of KDB crossing from deep like Beckham used to do.
Haaland is still the Best striker
Our chances this season have been worse due to our midfielders, it also reduced last season close to the end, something we need to look into
last season Gundo and KDB were top 7 in the league for most through balls. Now our highest is Rodri and he is 12th position... we are not playing for Haaland at all this season
Exactly, he is more of a target man this season than a finisher, it doesnt work for him unless he learns it, which he should, he needs at least 3 chances per gane to score on a good day, that hardly happens@@Markyy____
@@user-nr1dx4us4d Haaland does not suit this style of play. He needs space and when you play so slow it is easy for good teams to close down any space and nullify him. He would be a totally different animal in a Klopp team tbh
@@Markyy____ Very true but we know either you bend or you leave, is he can turn into aguero with more output, we'd love that and pep too
I am surprise you didn't play your Mr control the game, but cant dribble pass a 40 years old CB. Its shame that an exciting player like Doku has to sit on the bench for media favourite that offers nothing going forward.
Haaland 2 goals in 9 games one a penalty.
Play Haaland
Definitely should not drop haaland however bringing him on at a later time probably the last 45 Will definitely make him more effective since he’ll have more energy and Chelsea would need to adopt to a totally different game
Pep says Haaland is injured
Well he's injured
I 💯 agree with all what you said, but I think we need to start Alvarez instead of Haaland not for anything but I think Alvarez is a better player as a baller and can do much more than Haaland also this last is feeling a bit out of control lately especially with RM defeat, Alvarez is more mature when it comes to responsibility and keeps calm and can surprise Chelsea also we are speaking a world champion he needs to start big games PEP needs to give him trust, also KDB not sure if he can play 90 min specially if we go extra time I think we better bring him from the bench.
Alvarez first touch is terrible and he can't hold up a ball so this myth that he's better then haaland isn't true.
@@lanceyt4401 agreed 💯.
It's not the fact Haaland hasn't bagged as many goals as last season. The fact is he's just been poor. Missed several good chances and he looks disinterested.
How you feeling now bud. You sound excited for tomorrow
There was a little edit at 19:52 where I had to stop and die for a bit, then came back with a red face and tears in my eyes 😂 So still not 100% at all mate but thanks for asking. Hope you're all good!
@typicalcity9320 yeha, I'm good. Pd off from the madrid game because we were robbed, but silva Kick in the penalty was like he wasn't engaged. 🤣🤣🤣. Hopefully, we will shatter chelsea tomorrow.
yes, or to be more accurate, he should have dropped him before the champions league matches, haaland needs more time to recover, or some excuse like that...
Mark Coldfridge is a clever little troll.
He'll put out a video knowing he'll get thousands of views, likes, subcribtions which leads to... 💷💷💷💷
If you want to make money on RUclips become controversial.
Yes drop Haaland and kdb.
Apparently Haaland has some sort of injury?
I say this every week so much so that it's getting boring. City won the Club World Cup without either Haaland or KDB, but just as importantly, before Haaland got injured we couldn't score. When he got injured along with KDB, we started winning again. So, in terms of the semi-final, I hope Pep plays Alvarez as strker and NOT a midfeilder as that's what he does best.
Drop Andy carroll
Another chance for Norways Andy Carroll to cost City again 🤣🤣
its not a question of dropping the Viking , he is not fit is lacking confidence and has no work ethic.
Pep shouldnt drop him. He have to sell him
yes Pep wants a false 9 should have kept Jesus and not try to ruin Haaland
Are you joking, I can sense sarcasm 🤣@@Markyy____
Sell him, and do what then, buy who you plastic, he is at a low point, don't be a 'at present' fan, you guys are the worst
@@user-nr1dx4us4dYes. Sell that useless garbage ghost. Who cant even score a heading. especially this game with 16+ corners and more than 10 cross adding.
@@thelittlepikachu8241 have you thought of the crosses who never find haaland, but no, I'm a fan, a scapegoat must be made from a player because they are not humans like me
You are not historic, you just got super boosted as a yo yo club
City were the 10th most successful club in the country before the takeover, joint with Newcastle on trophies, had historically bigger crowds than Newcastle and spent more seasons in the top flight. You were getting 15k home gates before Keegan when you were in the second tier, yet City got twice the attendances in the third tier, but ehh alright, cheers for the 6 points this season, ooh and ticket to the FA Cup semis 😊👍💙
