I just found your channel and I really like your content. I’m the last person that should be giving GTAW advice but maybe these will help. Your brace is super important. Find out the best way for you to support your hands, arms, upper body to be steady but also be able to move or rotate your torch along the weld. Practice feeding your filler rod holding it between your middle and pointer fingers with your thumb over the top to provide more or less hold pressure depending on if your feeding through your fingers or not. Keep your filler rod closer to the weld puddle rather than moving it so far out between dabs. And reduce your travel angle a little bit, not pointed so far ahead. All that being said I can’t believe how good your weld looked for the amount of TIG welding you have with that machine. Your going to be awesome with more time and experience. Keep up the great content and stay as real as you are. All the best.
Looks great for your first try at tig. I wish I had known about copper spoons, backing and gas diffusers years ago and I could have used a tig finger, I charred several pinky fingers on gloves.
That's a DC machine. It can technically weld aluminum via spool gun. Probably not an issue for your work. Scratch start gets old if there will be a lot of TIG work. CK World Wide for the torch and lines, you won't regret it. After that you may want clear Pyrex nozzles. Get a torch holder at the same time or you will be breaking them when the torch falls off the table. Make sure to keep your torch in position after the arc extinguishes to keep it shielded. Adjust your pre and post flow time accordingly. TIG is fun. I remember my first time it was just zen like. So quiet and peaceful, never feeling rushed. Can freeze a puddle anywhere I want it.
Thanks for all the good info! After editing this video I played around for a few days and I bought 3/32 filler wire which seems to work better. I also bought a holder. 10/10 recommend that. I'll check out those tips and nozzles.
I know this video is 2 years old but i hope you can read my question, I am considering buying this unit but I'd like to know if it will do an open root pipe weld with 6010 rod. Thanks
great question. I have not used the stick welder function on this machine yet. I have only used the mig and tig. I have an old stick welder I use for my stick welding.

I think you did great !! I wouldn't even try it standing up, I wouldn't have good pedal control unless I'm sitting.
yup i felt really off balance...you can see me hopping around hehe
came out great thanks for sharing always learning
Pretty decent! I think I need a thicker full rod too for that big of a spot to fill.

there are so many attachments it is hard to know what to buy.
looking good 👍
Thanks 👍I honestly thought it was going to be a complete mess.
Awesome job Scott. You will hone your skills with practice. Lots of good YT vids out there for tips and tricks. You definitely know what your doing
I can't wait to do more Tig welding, however we are super busy going into trailer/safety season. Who knows when I'll have time to practice more.
I use a gas lens on mine and welds good.
